The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Science in the United States concluded in its 2004 report that excessive indoor dampness is a public health hazard and that its prevention should be a public health goal. Water damage in buildings, such as leaks from roofs, walls, or windows, may increase indoor moisture levels. Excessive dampness may promote microbial proliferation in indoor environments, increase occupants' exposure to microbial agents, and eventually produce adverse health effects in building occupants. Epidemiological studies to demonstrate the causal association between exposure to indoor microbial agents and health effects require reliable exposure assessment tools. In this review, I discuss various sampling and analytical methods to assess human exposure to biological agents in indoor environments, their strengths and weaknesses, and recent trends in research and practice in the USA.

Zerumbone, Sesquiterpene Photochemical from Ginger, Inhibits Angiogenesis

Here, we investigated the role of zerumbone, a natural cyclic sesquiterpene of Zingiber zerumbet Smith, on angiogenesis using human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Zerumbone inhibited HUVECs proliferation, migration and tubule formation, as well as angiogenic activity by rat aorta explants. In particular, zerumbone inhibited phosphorylation of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 and fibroblast growth factor receptor-1, which are key regulators of endothelial cell function and angiogenesis. In vivo matrigel plug assay in mice demonstrated significant decrease in vascularization and hemoglobin content in the plugs from zerumbone-treated mice, compared with control mice. Overall, these results suggest that zerumbone inhibits various attributes of angiogenesis, which might contribute to its reported antitumor effects.

문학교육전공 대학원생들의 석사학위논문 작성 과정에 대한 질적 연구

This paper examined the process of writing a master’s degree thesis for graduate students of literature education as a basic work to establish a permanent relationship between the literature education research discourse and the study of literature education. Specifically, the self-reflection paper on the preparation of a master’s degree thesis written by graduate students of literature education was analyzed using the methodology of self-culture and life history method and focused on the development process of difficulties and subject consciousness experienced by graduate students of liberal arts and education in the course of writing a dissertation. Graduate students of literature education will seek research topics according to their pre-admission interests, and the imbalance between the subjects of study and the awareness of problems that arise in the process is raised as a pre-emptive task to be solved after admission. In the process of focusing on the research subject, graduate students of literature education are gradually preparing for research by conducting prior research and communicating within academic communities such as graduate students, academic adviser, and professors of department. This is also a process in which the pressure of the literature education research discourse and the desire of the literary and educational research subjects to be individualized arerespected. The period of public review of research topics corresponds to the period in which research value is found and the overall direction and framework of the paper is formed. During this time, graduate students of literature education will gain the power of research and expand their communication consciousness about research. During the period of decision and development of the research topic, graduate students have also been shown to supplement the objectivity of the technology to persuade the readers of the paper, while gradually establishing themselves by adjusting their previous literature education view or identity as a literature education researcher. Based on the above discussion, it can be found that the process of growing up as a research subject by graduate students of literature education majors becomes a route of colorful twists along the road between the literature education research discourse and the literature education research. 이 논문은 문학교육연구 담론과 문학교육연구 수행 사이의 상보적인 관계 설정을 위한 기초 작업으로서 문학교육전공 대학원생들의 석사학위논문 작성 과정을 살폈다. 구체적으로 연구 대상인 문학교육전공 대학원생들이 작성한 석사학위논문 작성에 관한 자기성찰지를 자문화기술지 및 생애사 연구의 방법론을 활용하여 분석하였으며, 문학교육전공 대학원생들이 학위논문 작성 과정에서 경험한 난관 및 주제 의식의 발전 과정에 초점을 맞추었다. 문학교육전공 대학원생들은 입학 전의 관심사에 따라 연구 주제를 모색하게 되며, 이 과정에서 발생하는 연구 대상 및 문제의식 사이의 불균형은 입학후에 해결해야 할 선결 과제로 제기된다. 연구 주제의 초점화 과정에서 문학교육전공 대학원생들은 선행 연구 및 같은 전공 대학원생, 지도교수, 학과 교수와 같은 학문 공동체 내에서의 소통을 거치며 점차 연구의 얼개를 마련해 나간다. 이는 문학교육연구 담론의 압력과 문학교육연구 주체의 개별화 욕망이교호하는 과정이기도 하다. 연구 주제의 공적 검토 기간은 연구 가치를 발견하고 논문의 전체적인 방향 및 틀을 형성하는 기간에 해당한다. 이 시기에 문학교육전공 대학원생들은 연구의 동력을 획득하고, 연구에 대한 소통 의식을 확대하게 된다. 연구 주제의 결정 및 심화기에 대학원생들은 논문의 독자들을 설득하기 위해 기술의 객관성을 보완하고자 노력하는 동시에 점차 자신이 기존에 지니고 있던 문학교육관 혹은 문학교육 연구자로서의 정체성을 조정하여주체적으로 확립하는 양상도 드러났다. 이상의 논의에 기초할 때, 문학교육전공 대학원생들이 연구 수행 주체로 성장하는 과정은 문학교육연구 담론과 문학교육연구 수행 사이의 길항에 따른 다채로운 굴곡을 갖는 경로들이 된다는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

서술성에 초점을 둔 문학사 탐구 교육 연구

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find the direction of the literary history inquiry education focusing on the narrativity of literary history. To this end, a theoretical basis for the literary history inquiry education was explored, and an inquiry activity structure suitable for learners was devised. Methods: By analyzing previous studies, the basic structure of the literary history inquiry education was outlined, and the structure of literary history inquiry activities was specified by applying the theory of discussion on narrativity and subaltern in history. Results: The basic characteristics of knowledge in the literary history education are revealed, and the structure of the literary history inquiry activity premised on this is presented as discovering the voice of the narrator and the voice of the unwritten subject. Conclusion: The following are derived as implications for the activation of literary history inquiry education. First, the principle of description and distribution of knowledge in literary history should be reviewed educationally. Second, it is necessary to expand the educational environment for sharing the results of literary history inquiry.

분단 기억을 대상으로 한 통일문학교육의 방향: 김원일의 <노을>에 형상화된 폭력 경험의 재인식 과정을 중심으로

This study explores reunification literary education through a faithful understanding of memories of division, and embodies the direction of reunification literary education by focusing on –Noeul- by Kim Won-il, a work that enables a multi-layered understanding of the division. The division novels of the 1970s are characterized by a more concrete and deeper perception of division than the works of the previous period as the generations who experienced war in their childhood began to work as writers in earnest. Among them, Kim Won-il's –Noeul- is a work that embodies the experiences of violence, and at the same time, is a work that concretely shows the author’s attempts to face experiences of such violence and find significance in them in the present. In this novel, the protagonist, Kim Gap-su, returns to his hometown, a traumatic place, and makes the forgotten experiences of violence present. However, rather than storing or hiding these memories, he gradually embodies the reality of those memories by recalling and facing them. Through this, painful experiences of violence become an opportunity to discover those who are vulnerable to the violence of ideology, and Kim Gap-su accepts the life of remembering the people of the past who were trapped in the cycle of violence as irreplaceable beings. This process of remembrance of violent experiences, while recognizing in detail the reality of violence caused by division, freshly explores the meaning of transmission and recovery of division memories through sincere mourning for those that are damaged in the great cycle of violence. In this respect, -Noeul- has educational significance as an exemplary narrative model that remembers the pain of division.

고객관계 무형자산의 가치평가: 프랜차이즈 기업의 사업결합원가배분 사례분석

This study reviews the cases of recognition and valuation of intangible assets in business combination. The problem has been raised that the accounting values reported in the financial statements in academia and practice. In recent years, the importance of intangible assets in firm value are increasing, so it is necessary to measure the value of intangible assets more precisely to improve the usefulness of financial statements. In particular, under the K-IFRS, the standard for evaluating fair values has expanded, and intangible assets of acquired firms in business combination must be newly recognized and recorded at fair value. This study specifically examines the process of identifying and valuating customer-related intangible assets of the franchise firm in business combination. The contributions of this paper are as followings. First, valuation of intangible assets is relatively difficult to evaluate compared to other assets, and franchise industry is also a sector in which valuation cases are relatively less, whereas few cases have dealt with valuation of intangible assets in that industry. Second, in the franchise industry the customer group exists in a special form. Unlike the case of general companies and industries that define the final consumer as a customer group, the franchise's customer group is defined as a franchisee. Third, we have described the method in detail how to distinguish the customer-related intangible assets in a business combination using actual business cases. It is expected that it will help not only practitioners who are responsible for preparing financial statements, but also stakeholders using financial statements to record financial statements, customer relationship intangible assets, and understand valuation methodology of intangible assets. 본 연구는 사업결합 시 취득법의 회계처리에 따라 고객가치 무형자산을 식별하고, 고객가치 및 인력조직의 무형자산의 가치를 평가한 실제 사례를 검토하였다. 학계와 실무계는 재무제표상 보고되는 회계수치가 기업의 미래경제적효익을 모두 보여줄 수 없다는 문제를 지속적으로 제기하였다. 최근 기업가치에 무형자산의 비중 및 그 중요성이 더욱더 증대되고 있어 재무제표의 유용성을 제고를 위해 더욱 정교하게 무형자산의 가치를 측정해야 한다는 것이다. 특히, K-IFRS 도입 이후 공정가치 평가기준이 확대되고, 사업결합 시 무형자산을 신규로 인식해야 한다는 점에서 무형자산의 공정가치평가 이슈가 보다 중대해졌다. 이러한 상황에서, 본 연구는 사업결합을 통해 프랜차이즈업종의 고객 관련 무형자산을 식별하고 가치를 평가하는 절차 및 과정을 구체적으로 다루었다. 무형자산의 평가는 상대적으로 타 자산에 비해 평가가 어려우며, 프랜차이즈업 또한 가치평가 사례분석이 상대적으로 덜 이루어진 업종이다. 프랜차이즈업은 산업통상자원부(2019)에 따르면 한국의 명목 GDP의 6.9%를 차지하고 있으며 지속적으로 성장하고 있다. 그런데 프랜차이즈업의 고객군은 최종적인 소비자를 고객군으로 정의하는 일반적인 기업·산업의 사례와 달리 가맹점 사업자로 정의되므로, 계약적·법적 기준을 충족한다는 점에서 고객 관련 무형자산을 보다 쉽게 식별할 수 있다는 이점이 있다. 또한, K-IFRS는 영업권 상각을 인정하지 않고 손상검토만을 하도록 요구하고 있어 사업결합 시 영업권이 아닌 별도의 무형자산을 인식하는 것이 영업권 손상검토 및 손상에 대한 압박을 상대적으로 덜 받을 수 있고, 세무상 손금으로 인정받을 수 있다는 점에서 실무에서도 선호되는 방법이다. 본 연구는 이처럼 지속적으로 성장세에 있는 프랜차이즈 외식산업에서 중요한 무형자산의 가치를 평가한 사례를 구체적으로 살펴보았다는 데 의의가 있다. 특히, 흔히 이루어지지 않던 사업결합 시 ‘고객관계’ 무형자산을 별도로 평가하는 방법을 사례로 상세히 설명하여 재무제표 작성의 책임이 있는 경영자뿐 아니라, 재무제표를 이용하는 주주, 투자자 등 다양한 정보이용자에게 고객관계 무형자산의 측정 및 재무제표 기록, 가치평가 방법론과 실제평가를 이해하는 데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.
