This paper presents an attempt to find the physical structure of dynamic systems which achieves the behavior of a given system function. The scheme pursued by the paper would be regarded as synthesizing dynamic systems, and a method to synthesize them analytically is proposed by means of bond graph prototypes. The method adopts several conceptsused to synthesize networks in the electrical field, but yet deconstrates its own strengths such as the freedom from assigning causality and determining junction types. Also, itis shown that this method has further advantages in reticulating a given specification into feedforward and feedback components relative to network synthesis and the method is examined though an example to trace the outline of the analytical synthesis of dynamic systems using bond graph prototypes.

This paper deals with a method for finding the physical structure of dynamic systems which shows reasonable response to a given specifiation. The method uses only four basic models of bond graph prototypes which have been originally proposed by the authors as a general model for dynamic systems, and then makes its procedure highly physical in the sense that it can synthesize a dynamic system through the structural transformation directly on bond graph models without any mathematical manipulation. Also, it is shown that this method has further advantages in optimizing parameters for an existing system rather than developing design concepts for a new device, the latter being more suitable using the so-called analytical synthesis method introduced by Park and Redfield. One example serves to trace the outlines of the direct synthesis method proposed in this paper for dynamic systems in terms of bond graph prototypes.

Background: The metabolic syndrome has been known as the cluster of insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and abdominal obesity. There have been many studies about the infl ammatory role in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases, also. We aimed to elucidate the role of high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) as a infl ammation-related factor in metabolic syndrome in Korean adults by correlation and factor analysis. Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out in 1,512 men and 1,836 women (over 20 years old) who had an examination at a center for health promotion of an university hospital from May 2004 through March 2005. The NCEPATP Ⅲ definition and Asian-Pacific adjusted criteria were used to obtain the metabolic syndrome group. And we evaluated the role and gender difference of hs-CRP in metabolic syndrome by correlation and factor analysis. Results: In women, hs-CRP was statistically correlated with most metabolic variables, especially insulin resistance. In factor analysis, 3 factors (obesity, blood pressure, and insulin resistance) were obtained in men and 4 factors (obesity, blood pressure, insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia) in women, respectively. In women, hs-CRP was a part of dyslipidemia factor. Conclusion: In factor anaylsis of metabolic syndrome factors with hs-CRP, hs-CRP was not a signifi cant factor in men, but was included as a part of dyslipidemia factor in women. 연구배경: 대사증후군은 병태생리 상 인슐린저항성, 이상지 질혈증, 고혈압 및 복부비만 등 다양한 위험요인들의 군집으 로 보고되고 있으며, 동맥경화증 및 심혈관계 위험성 측면에 서 염증관련인자들과의 관계에 대한 연구 또한 다수 보고되 어왔다. 본 연구는 상관분석 및 요인분석을 통해 한국인의 대 사증후군에서 hs-CRP의 역할을 알아보았다. 방법: 2004년 5월부터 2005년 3월까지 일개 대학병원 건강증 진센터를 방문한 수진자 중 20세 이상 성인 중 순환기, 호흡 기, 내분비 질환 환자 및 흡연자는 제외한 3,348명(남 1,512명, 여 1,836명)을 대상으로 하였다. 대사증후군의 기준은 NCEP ATP-Ⅲ와 아시아-태평양 보고서의 허리둘레 기준에 따랐다. 통계적 분석은 상관분석 및 요인분석을 시행하였으며, 대사 증후군에서 hs-CRP의 역할 및 남녀 간의 차이를 살펴 보았다. 결과: 표본 집단 중 대사증후군은 총 412명(남 180명, 여 232 명)으로 유병률은 12.31%(남 11.90%, 여 12.64%)이었다. 상관 분석에서 hs-CRP는 여성에서는 인슐린저항성 등 대사관련 인 자들과 상관관계가 높게 나타났으나, 남성에서는 유의한 상 관관계가 없었다. 요인분석에서 남자의 경우 3개(비만요인, 혈압요인, 인슐린저항성요인), 여성의 경우 4개(비만요인, 혈 압요인, 인슐린저항성요인, 이상지질혈증요인)의 요인이 얻 어졌다. hs-CRP는 여성에서 이상지질혈증요인을 형성하고 있 었다. 결론: 대사증후군에 관련된 인자들과 요인분석을 시행하였 을 때 hs-CRP는 남성에서는 의미있는 요인에 포함되지 못했 고, 여성에서만 이상지질혈증 요인에 포함되었다.

Modeling and analysis of dynamic systems generally demand their resutls to be interpreted each other with a physical sense. It sometimes requires that there should exist a unified tool in the treatment of dynamic systems which can be applied to both their modeling and analysis equally. This paper shows how models just after the progress of modeling via bond graph standards are converted to ones which are appropriate for analyzing a dynamic system in the frequency domain. Four bond graph prototypes are introduced to obtain frequency properties of dynamic systems such as zero stability, relative order, zero and pole dynamics, etc. directly from bond graphs, and the method are proposed which reduces nearly all models of bond graph standards to one of the prototypes without any change of physical similarity. This procedure as a tool for the structural reduction of bond graphs and finding frequency properties of a dynamic system is further investigated to survey its effectiveness through an example.

This paper examines the physics and mechanics governing the dynamic interaction between physical systems and suggests the four structures of bond graph prototypes, considered as a general model that can promise their dynamic behavior physically resonable. The bond graph prototypes originating from the paper are more realistic junction structures than those used to model dynamic systems conventionally by bond graph standards in whether physical constraints are involved or not when the energy exchange between two dynamic components arises. It is shown that the bond graph prototypes are dynamic or energetic in their describing equations compared to the bond graph standards, and connectivity and causality are properties of dynamic systems upon which the steps developed in this paper for the bond graph prototypes are wholly based and their definitions an concepts are highly emphasized all through the paper.

The modeling and control design schemes are developed for maglev systems with a combined lift and guidance. First, bond graph techniques are applied for modeling these multi-energy domain systems more logically and systematically. And the stability loop via pole placement and the performance loop via loop-shaping LQ control are designed. The suggested controller satisfies the required characteristics of stability and performance simultaneously, Finially, the robustness of the synthesized maglev control system is evaluated for the variations of air gap and vechile mass through computer simulation.
