기업의 정보처리 특성과 클라이언트-서버 아키 텍춰 구현 전략에 관한 연구

오늘날 많은 이들이 클라이언트-서버 컴퓨팅은 차세대 전산 환경의 주역이 될 것으로 인신하고 이미 여러 기업에서 정보시스템을 크라이언트-서버 환경으로 구축해 왔다. 하지만, 이러한 많은 관심과 노력에도 불구하고 만족할 만한 결과를 얻지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 회의적인 방응에 대한 원인으로는 많은 요인들이 있겠지만 연구에서는 무엇보다도 기업의 다양한 정보처리 특성에 대한 면밀한 검토 없이 시대적 조류에 밀려 도입에 급급했다는 것을 지적하고 있다. 그래서, 본 연구에서는 다섯 가지 클라이언트-서버 아카텍춰들,일곱 가지의 정보 처리에 관련된 기준에 따라 평가 분석해 보고 기업의 정보처리 특성과의 적합성을 분석하여 가장 이상적인 클라이언트-서버 아키텍취를 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 아카 텍춰를 기반으로 성공적인 정보 시스템이 구현될 수 있는 전략을 제시한다. 마지막 으로 본 논문에서 제시된 상황모델의 검증을 위해 클라이언트-서버기술을 구현한 세가지 사례를 탐색적 수준에서 분석해 보았다. Client-Sever-Comptuing is now recognized as the most powerful and flexible computing mode of the future.Many companies have already commited significant amount of their corporate IS resources to building the cli-ent-server computing environment.Despite this active interst and commitment,however,results from such cli-ent-sever projects are far from being convincing Among the many factors,we suspect,we supect that the less than less than satisfac-tory client-server experiences are perhaps due to the company's lack of underxtanding its essertial information processing characteristics.We analyze five client-server archiedctures in temrs of seven IS-related crieria.We then develop a contin-gency model to match company's information processing chracteristics to the ideal client-server architecture for the firm.Based on the client-server architecture analysis from the previous step. we recommend specific im-plementation strategies for each-server architecture selected. Finally,on an exploratory level,we look into the three client-server implmentation cases to cases to check the validity of our contingency model.
