        Care Status of the ALS Patients With Long-Term Use of Tracheostomy Tube

        Objective To evaluate the care status of the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients with long-term use of tracheostomy tube by caregivers of ALS patients. Methods A survey was conducted in the form of questionnaires to ALS patients and their caregivers. All measurements were performed by two visiting nurses. For statistical analysis, SPSS ver. 22.0 and Mann-Whitney U test on non-normal distribution were used. Results In total, 19 patients (15 males and 4 females) and their caregivers participated in the survey. In the case of patients, the average duration of care was 5.9±3.7 years, and the mean periods of illness and tracheostomy were 5.3±3.2 years and 3.0±2.6 years, respectively. Replacement intervals were 14 days in 11 patients, 7 days in 4 patients, 28 days in 2 patients, and 21 days in 1 patient. One patient was unable to provide an accurate replacement interval. Eighteen (99%) caregivers had experience of adding volume to a cuff without pressure measure in the following instances: due to patients’ needs in 7 cases, air leakage in 7 cases, and no reason in 4 cases. Mean pressure of tracheostomy cuff was 40±9.4 cmH2O, and air volume of tracheostomy cuff was 6.7±3.2 mL, but real mean volume was 7.0±2.9 mL. The number of suctioning for airway clearance was a mean 27.5 ±18.2 times a day. Conclusion According to this survey, we notice that almost all the patients and caregivers had an erroneous idea about cuff volume and pressure. Moreover, education and long-term professional care of tracheostomy cannot be overemphasized in this manner.

        혼술 경험자의 일반적 음주행태 및 혼술 행태 분석

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate solitary drinker's general drinking behaviour. Also, this study aimed to compare solitary drinker's solitary drinking behaviour according to their risk level of general drinking behaviour. Methods: The subjects of this study consisted of the 2,011 Korean adults whose ages were between 19-69 years. A self-administered online survey was conducted, and the questionnaire was comprised of general characteristics of subjects, general drinking behaviour, solitary drinking behaviour. This study analysed cross-sectional data using an independent t-test and chi-square test. Results: 61.3% of 2,011 subjects had an experience of drinking alone. The results find statistically significant difference in the gender, age, households, education level and jobs between drinking alone and not. Drinkers who had experience of drinking alone had a significantly higher rate of annual alcohol drinking, frequency of drinking, alcohol consumption in the single occasion and harmful use of alcohol than drinkers who didn't have experience of drinking alone. Subjects who had harmful use of alcohol behaviour preferred a beverage with high alcohol content for solitary drinking. They also had a higher frequency of drinking, alcohol consumption in a single occasion, the harmful use of alcohol in a solitary drinking situation. Conclusion: A solitary drinking behaviour is associated with general drinking behaviour, especially their harmful use of alcohol. This study tried to investigate a new drinking culture. Studies that reflect mental health factors and psychological factors associated with alcohol use are needed for future research.

        온도 변화 방법과 압력을 이용한 계란 내부로 다시마 추출물의 침투 효율

        본 연구에서는 온도 변화 방법과 압력을 이용하여 계란 내부로 다시마 추출물의 침투 효율을 분석하였다. 다시마 추출물은 100°C에서 3시간 동안 다시마 무게의 10배(w/w)의 증류수를 가하여 열수 추출하였다. 대기압에서 다시마 추출물의 지표 성분으로 요오드와 총 폴리페놀의 침투 효율은 30,40, 50°C에서 3시간 동안 침지시킨 다음 침투된 요오드와 총 폴리페놀 함량을 측정함으로써 분석하는 경우와 50°C에서 3시간 동안 예열한 다음 4°C로 온도 변화를 유동하여 침지시켜 침투된 요오드와 총 폴리페놀 함량을 측정함으로써 분석하였다. 요오드와 총 폴리페놀 함량의 침투 효율은 침투 온도가 증가할수록 향상되었다. 그리고 요오드와 총 폴리페놀의 침투는 온도 변화를 하지 않은 경우 각각 3시간 동안 72 μg/100 mg과 1.48 mg/mL가 침투된 반면, 온도변화를 유도한 경우 각각 3시간 동안 121 μg/100 mg과 1.74 mg/mL가 침투되어 침투 효율이 증가되었으며, 50°C에서 3시간 예열한 다음 4°C로 온도 변화하여 3시간 침투시킨 계란에서 가장 높은 침투 효율을 나타내었다. 그리고 5기압의 압력 조건에서 온도 변화를 유도하지 않고 50°C에서 90분간 침투시킨 경우 침투된 요오드와 총 폴리페놀 함량이 각각 105 μg/100 mg과 1.56 mg/mL로 나타난 반면, 온도변화를 유도한 경우 각각 139 μg/100 mg과 1.74 mg/mL의 함량을 나타내어 압력에 의해 온도 변화 방법의 침투 효율은 향상되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 온도 변화 방법과 압력조건을 통하여 계란 내부로 다시마 추출물의 향상된 침투효율을 확인하였으며, 이는 다시마 추출물 이외의 다양한 조미성분과 기능성 식품 소재의 침투 가능성을 제시함으로써 효율적인 직접 소비가 가능한 계란 가공 공정의 확립이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. In this study, the permeation efficiency (PE) of sea tangle (Laminaria japonica) extract (STE) into egg using the temperature change method (TCM) and pressure was investigated. STE was prepared in a volume of water equal to 10 times the weight of the sea tangle at 100°C over a 3 hr period. The PE of iodine as a representative component of the STE as well as the total polyphenol content at ambient pressure were determined as follows: 1) after soaking in the STE at 30, 40, and 50°C for 3 hr, and 2) after soaking in the STE at 4°C immediately after soaking in distilled water at 50°C for 1, 2, and 3 hr (TCM), respectively. The PE of iodine as well as the total polyphenol content improved as the temperature of the STE increased (P<0.05). The permeation of iodine was more rapid, and the total polyphenol content increased with the TCM (121 μg/100 mg and 1.74 mg/mL for 3 hr, respectively) compared to without the TCM (72 μg/100 mg and 1.48 mg/mL for 3 hr, respectively), and the highest PE was observed with the TCM after soaking at 50°C for 3 hr. At a pressure of 5.0 MPa, the PE was more rapid with the TCM (139 μg/100 mg and 1.74 mg/mL for 90 min, respectively) than without the TCM (105 μg/100 mg and 1.56 mg/mL for 90 min, respectively). Consequentially, these results suggest that the preparation of seasonings and functional eggs using various components and bioactive substances is possible by the TCM.

        TV 프로그램의 음주장면 특성 분석 : 드라마와 예능 프로그램을 중심으로

        Objectives: This study aims to analyze drinking portrayals in TV dramas and entertainment shows. Methods: The subjects of this study are 57 dramas and entertainment shows enjoyed by adolescents from January to June 2020. During the same period, 1,107 units are aired from 57 dramas and entertainment shows. We analyzed the structural characteristics and contents of drinking portrayals. Results: Drinking portrayals were described 1,172 times in 56 out of 57 dramas and entertainment shows and 114.18 seconds. Based on the broadcast time of the drinking portrayals compared to the total broadcast time, drama airs the drinking portrayals longer than entertainment show. Drinking portrayals most frequently depicted harmful drinking behaviors such as one-shot, bomb shot(poktanju), binge drinking, and etc. These portrayals tended to show the drinking behaviors as it is in dramas. Conclusions: Dramas and entertainment shows depicts drinking portrayals 1.1 times per units. Drinking portrayals in TV can affect adolescent’s positive attitude toward alcohol, and alcohol consumption. So, Regulation on drinking portrayals need to be reinforced and a national consensus should be formed on this.

        중년 여성의 문제음주 성향과 관련된 사회심리학적 특성

        Objectives: The study was conducted to identify the relationships between social support, depression, and problem drinking in some middle aged women. Methods: The subjects of this study were consisted of the 181 married middle aged women whose ages were between 40-59 years living in Anyang area, Self-administered survey was conducted and the questionnaire was comprised of general characteristics of the subjects, social support, depression(CES-D), problem drinking(AUDIT-K). The statistical analysis was done using PASW Statistics 20.0 programs. Results: There were significant negative correlations between social support and problem drinking and depression was positively correlated with problem drinking. The significant factors associated with problem drinking were education, income, and social support in multiple regression analysis. The three factors explanatory power was 19.8%. Conclusion: There were correlations between social support, depression, and problem drinking. Therefore it is necessary to primarily consider social support and depression to effective prevent drinking problems in middle aged women.

        정신분열병 환자의 작동기억 이상에 대한 기능적 자기공명영상 연구

        Objective:Impaired processing of working memory is one of the cognitive deficits seen in patients with schizophrenia. This aimed at corroborating the differences in the brain activities involved in the process of working memory between patients with schizophrenia and the control subjects. Method:Fourteen patients with schizophrenia and 12 healthy volunteers were recruited in this study. Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) was used to assess cortical activities during the performance of a 2-back visual working memory paradigm using the Korean alphabet as mnemonic content. Results:Group analysis revealed that left lateral prefrontal cortex and right parietal lobule showed decreased cortical activities in the patient group. On the other hand, an increased activation in left superior and middle frontal gyrus, left middle temporal gyrus, right cuneus, both occipital lobes, right fusiform gyrus and right cingulate gyrus. The activation in left anterior lobe and both declive of cerebellum was also increased. Conclusions:This study showed a decreased activation in left lateral prefrontal and right parietal neural networks from the patient group and confirmed the earlier findings on the impaired working memory of patients with schizophrenia using fMRI investigation. The regions implicated in our study suggest an abnormal functioning of the fronto-parietal cortical areas that are critical to the information processing stream, which might be correspondent to common pathophysiology rather than a common etiology in schizophrenia.

        국내 콩 브랜드 강화를 위한 효율적 패키지디자인 연구

        농지 감소, 수자원 부족, 이상기후 등 여러 환경 변화로 인한 곡물가격 상승세와 먹거리 위기 시대가 염려된다. 우리는 오래전부터 콩을 우수한 음식물로 섭취했다. 그러나 최근 주요 생산국에서 대량수입국으로 전락하였다. 이로 인해 국내 콩 생산 환경은 물론 수입품에 경쟁할 국내 콩 브랜드를 만들기 어려운 결과를 초래, 심각성이 커지고 있다. 본 연구목적은 콩 패키지디자인의 특성과 변천사를 파악하고 국내외 현황 및 특성을 비교분석, 국내 콩 브랜드 강화를 위한 효율적 패키지디자인을 제시하는 것이다. 연구방법은 국내외 문헌자료 토대의 이론적 고찰과 콩 패키지디자인의 시계열분석이다. 실증조사는 국내외 브랜드패키지를 형태구조 및 시각적 요소를 속성별 비교분석, 효율적 방안을 제시했다. 연구 결과, 국내포장은 소재의 다양화, 사용 편의성을 높인 기능성 포장 등의 발전을 이루었다. 그러나 브랜드 전달이 미약하며 패키지 형태 및 그래픽 요소가 일반적이고 유사하다. 제품 내용 전달에 주로 초점을 맞추고 있으며 소비자와 브랜드의 강한 커뮤니케이션을 위해 패키지디자인 개선 및 독창적 디자인 개발이 필요하였다. 우선적으로, 우리 전통 먹을거리인 콩을 지키고 세계시장에서 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해 우리제품을 세계에 알리는 수단으로써 브랜드를 개발해야 한다. 새로운 브랜드에 따른 차별적 패키지디자인이 필요하며 로고, 형태, 재질, 레이아웃, 색상 모든 요소의 새로운 시도로 브랜드를 강조해야 한다. 구체적으로는 첫째, 브랜드 로고디자인은 대부분의 브랜드가 차용한 캘리그래피 형식을 배제시켜 차별성, 효율성을 높여야 한다. 둘째, 독자적 형태의 캐릭터(일러스트, 사진 포함) 이용이 권장된다. 셋째, 전반적 색상은 채도를 높여 주목성에 유리하도록 한다. 기타 레이아웃은 각 요소들 중 브랜드 로고를 가장 큰 비중을 두고 그 외 요소를 순차적 비율로 구성함이 바람직하다. 이와 같은 노력으로 각자의 개성에 따른 차별된 요소를 찾아 적극적으로 드러내야 한다. 또한 우리 콩의 월등한 품질과 역사성 등을 소비자에게 강하게 인식 시키고 한국적 특성 뿐 아니라 세계시장 트렌드에 부합하는 브랜드패키지가 개발되어야 할 것이다. The price of grain is expected to increase due to the decrease of farmland, shortage of water resources and abnormal climate. It accelerates the advent of food crisis. Korea have been using beans diversely since about the fourth century BC. However, the increase of agriculture import from overseas made our country caused competition so we need to protect our beans by brand and packaging. This study has the purpose of considering the package design that reinforcing the beans brand. It will suggest the effective package design for domestic beans brand by researching transition of bean’s package and present condition with comparative analysis between domestic and foreign design. This study did theoretical research through internal and external precedence theses as well as the literature. It used time-series analysis of whole changes of bean package designs on the basis of museum collections on their websites and print ads. After comparing brand logo, structure, material, lay out and color, it proposed the effective way of designing bean packaging. Through the research and analysis, I found that there have been many advances in domestic packages with diversification of materials and convenience for use. On the other hand, brand communication is weak and structure or graphic is too common and similar each other. They are only focusing on conveying basic informations of the products. Above all, we need to develop brand as a means of promoting our bean products to protect our traditional food and raise it’s competitiveness in the world market. Besides, all design elements should be related to each other for emphasizing brand and also make strong communication between consumer and brand. We have to impress quality and historicity of our beans. Moreover, the package not only have to reflect korean characteristics but also consider global trend.

        한국인과 일본인 사진신부에 관한 구술 자료 비교 분석

        1908년부터 1924년까지 미국으로 이민 갔던 한국인 사진신부와 일본인 사진신부의 구술 자료는 매우 한정적이다. 이들은 여성이자 아시아계 이민자로서 역사적 중요성을 인정받지 못했기 때문이다. 하지만 그들은 이민자 사회를 세운 장본인이자 다음 세대를 이끈 인물들이었다. 이 논문은 미국과 한국에서 이용할 수 있는 사진신부 구술 자료의 서지사항을 알아볼 것이다. 또한 한국인 사진신부와 일본인 사진신부의 구술 자료를 비교함으로써 두 자료의 특징을 알아보고자 한다. 이 논문을 통해 사진신부의 구술 자료가 어떤 중요성과 의미를 가지는지 파악해 나갈 것이다. Oral records of Korean and Japanese picture brides who immigrated to the United States between 1908 and 1924 are very limited in number. Their historical importance has not been recognized because they were women and Asian immigrants. However, picture brides built the immigrant communities and led their next generations. Seeking to recognize the meaning and importance of the oral materials on these picture brides, this article collected and studied information on these oral records in Korea and the United States and compared the oral records of Korean and Japanese picture brides to determine their respective characteristics.

        1917년 문맹테스트 이민법을 통해 본 하와이 사진신부

        Due to the hostility toward immigrants in the United States, the Immigration Act was enacted in 1917. This Immigration Act included three core clauses, and one of them was literacy test. This literacy test was performed to pick out the immigrants who could read a certain level of English. Through this filter called ‘literacy test’, many Asian people and southern Europeans from other than English-speaking countries, were limited to enter the United States. In case of Asian picture brides, they were exempted from this test even though they were Asian people. The picture brides mean the women who left for marriage immigration after receiving a picture from their native men residing in the United States. This study aims to understand the process of how those Asian picture brides such as Japanese and Korean picture brides could be exempted from literacy test through the articles and diplomatic documents of the time. 미국 내에서 일어나는 이민자에 대한 반감으로 인해 1917년 이민법이 제정되었다. 이 이민법에는 핵심적인 세 가지 조항이 있었는데 그 중 하나가 바로 '문맹테스트' 이다. 문맹테스트는 이민자들이 영어를 어느 정도 구사할 줄 아는 지를 가려내는 시험이었다. 영어권 국가가 아닌 아시아인들과 남부유럽인들은 문맹테스트라는 거름망을 통해 미국으로의 입국이 제한되게 되었다. 아시아 사진신부는 아시아인임에도 불구하고 이 시험에서 면제가 된다. 사진신부란 미국에 거주하는 고국출신의 남성들에게서 사진을 받아 결혼이주를 떠났던 여성들을 일컫는다. 아시아 사진신부 즉, 일본인과 한국인 사진신부는 어떻게 문맹테스트에서 벗어나게 되었는지 기사와 당시 외교문서를 통해 그 과정을 알아보고자 한다.

        1인 가구의 연령별 음주행태 비교와 고위험 음주에 영향을 미치는 요인분석

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare drinking behaviors between one-person households and those living together to identify the harmful alcohol use of one-person households. Methods: This study analyzed cross-sectional data from 228,558 Korean adults aged 19 years and older who participated in the 2015 Korean Community Health Survey. The data were analyzed using a chi-square test to determine the patterns of alcohol use by household types and age groups. Moreover, multinomial logistic regression was used to uncover factors of harmful alcohol use for one-person households. Results: One-person households composed of young and middle-aged people had higher monthly alcohol drinking, harmful alcohol use, and yearly alcohol-related harm and drunk driving experiences. Elderly people in one-person households had high harmful alcohol use in both men and women. The factors affecting the harmful alcohol use of one-person households were similar to those of sociodemographic variables (age, residential area, marital status, occupation, educational level, monthly income) in both sexes, but physical and mental health-related factors showed differences according to the number of chronic disease diagnoses, subjective health level, subjective stress, and sleeping time according to sex. Conclusion: A number of factors are associated with the harmful alcohol use of one-person households and age groups. Owing to environmental changes, studies on the harmful alcohol use of one-person households and age groups should be continued.
