This paper describes a multiresidual approximation method for scattered volumetric data modeling. The approximation method employs a volumetric NURBS or VNURBS as a data interpolating function and proposes two multiresidual methods as a data modeling algorithm. One is called as the residual series method that constructs a sequence of VNURBS functions and their algebraic summation produces the desired approximation. The other is the residual merging method that merges all the VNURBS functions mentioned above into one equivalent function. The first one is designed to construct wavelet-type multiresolution models and also to achieve more accurate approximation. And the second is focused on its improvement of computational performance with the same fitting accuracy for more practical applications. The performance results of numerical examples demonstrate the usefulness of VNURBS approximation and the effectiveness of multiresidual methods. In addition, several graphical examples suggest that the VNURBS approximation is applicable to various applications such as surface modeling and fitting problems.
원숭이 대뇌 운동전야피질 신경세포의 Movement Field에 관한 연구

This study evaluated the representation of horizontal, two dimensional movements in the premotor cortex of the primate, emphasizing the characteristics of the movement fields of these cells. Starting from a central start zone three macaca mulatta monkeys were required to move to one of 30 randomly presented target zones displayed on a computer controlled, horizontally positioned video screen using a draftsman's arm style manipulandum. A cursor was projected on the video screen and provided real time visual update of the animal's position. The task required placing the cursor within the start zone and target boxes. Target zones were arranged in five sets of equally spaced targets (60˚) around a central start zone, each set at a different distance. Chronic unit recording techniques were used to record the activities of 238 premotor cortical neurons before and during this task. In addition to recording the position of the hand(manipulandum position) and features of trajectory kinematics in the horizontal plane, chronic EMC electrodes were used to monitor shoulder and forearm EMG activity. Horizontal and vertical eye movements were monitored using an infrared oculometer. Three dimensional plots of the cells' firing rate above background for the discharge prior to(premovement component) and after the onset of movement (movement component) were constructed. Premotor cortical cells which increased their discharge prior to or during the task showed a preferential modulation for a specific region(direction and amplitude) of horizontal extrapersonal space in which the movement was made. Although the extent of the movement field could be large, the discharge was clearly restricted to a region of the horizontal work space. Also the movement fields exhibited a distinct center where the discharge was maximal. In most cells both the premovement and ~movement components increased over the same region of horizontal space. In the group of cells the modulation was dependent on the movement origin. These preliminary observations on the characteristics of the movement fields of premotor cortical neurons raise the intriguing possibility that aspects of extrapersonal space could well be represented in the discharge of these cells.

A case of unilateral pulsating exophthalmos due to defective development of the sphenoid bone with plexiform neurofibroma was reported. There were missing of orbital plate of the frontal bone, lesser and great wing of the sphenoid, and lacrymal plate of the ethmoid bone. Middle fossa became deepening accompaning with thining of temporal bone, and the tip of the temporal lobe was covered by tremendously dilated subarachnoid spaces with thick membranes. There were diffuse neurofibromatosis and plesiform aeurofibroma resulted in elephantiasis of the lids. The skull bone defect was covered with Resin after removal of the plexiform neurofibroma. The patient was improved.
수리 가능한 체계에 대한 Upside-Down 욕조 곡선 형태의 삼분할된 고장 강도 모형

일반적으로 수리 가능한 체계는 개발 초기의 많은 고장이 설계 변경과 같은 시정조치로 인해 점점 줄어들면서 고장 강도가 단조감소의 형태로 나타난다. 하지만, 항공기 에어컨, 증기 배기장치, 그리고 특정 무기체계의 개발 및 운용 시험 등에서는 고장 강도가 증가하다 감소하는 Upside-Down 욕조 곡선 형태로 나타나는 경우가 있다. 이 연구에서는 Upside-Down 욕조 곡선에서 고장 강도가 증가하다가 감소하기 전에 Random Failure로 인해 고장 강도가 일정한 값을 가지는 상수 구간을 고려하여 수리 가능한 체계에 대한 Upside-Down 욕조 곡선 형태의 삼분할 된 (Three Segmented) 고장 강도 모형을 제안하고, 최우추정법 (MLE : Maximum Likelihood Estimation)과 최소제곱법 (LSE : Least Squares Estimation)을 이용하여 변화점 (Change Point) 및 고장 강도 모형의 모수 추정 절차를 제안하였다. 그리고 이 연구에서 제안한 고장 강도 모형을 사용하여 특정 무기체계의 개발 단계 고장 데이터를 분석하고 구한 Likelihood, AICc (Akaike Information Criterion Corrected), MSE (Mean Squared Error) 값을 기존 모형들과 비교 분석하였다.

Korean standards for cut flowers currently cover 17 items, including roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums. However, these standards are underutilized, and their effectiveness is limited due to varying quality criteria across public wholesale markets. This study investigates the domestic wholesale markets cut flower trade and explores ways to enhance Korean cut flower standards. Over the past decade, the number of cut flower items traded domestically has steadily increased to an average of 228, with major trading items changing annually. Thus, the rapidly evolving flower market cannot be adequately addressed solely by the items in the current cut flower standards. Among the top 20 cut flowers in 2022, seven items, including ranunculus and ruscus, lack announced standards. Therefore, it is necessary to expand the standards to include major trading items not currently covered and establish a general standard for cut flowers. Current standards have ambiguous quality determination criteria, leading to an overestimation, with 68.1% of cut flowers on the aT flower market being traded as “Excellent”. It is necessary to introduce criteria that can objectively evaluate the internal quality of cut flowers, such as flower weight and stem thickness, and a diagram to judge external quality, such as maturity stage and damages. Current length grading is not suitable for domestic cut flower production, with only 18.5% of cut flowers on the aT flower market being traded as “1st grade”. Product labels need to be revised to display actual characteristic values in line with changes in the cut flower distribution environment, including the expansion of online and direct distribution, and to provide additional information such as flower diameter and number of flowers, in addition to stem length.
