N/A Hemodynamic effect of Urografin 76 was observed during left ventriculography in 17 patients with various heart disease. The subject were devided into 2 groups; Group I was those with focal hypokinesia or diffuse hypokinesia with ejection fraction less than 56% and Group Ⅱ was those who had relatively normal ejection fraction and apparently no hypokinesia. In group I, initial LVEDP was 12.6±l.43mmHg and the LVEDP 2 minutes after left ventriculography was 20.8±1.68mmHg. 1n group Ⅱ initial LVEDP was 10.1±1.41mmHg and LVEDP 3 minutes after the procedure was 12.7±1.41mmHg. Initial left ventricular systolic pressure was 116.7±4. 67mmHg and the 5 minutes after left ventriculography was 128.7±6.87mmHg in group I, while the L.V. systolic pressure in group Ⅱ was 109.4±6.67mmHg initially and 121.2±9.44mmHg at 5 minutes after the procedure. Serum osmolality following the left ventriculography was also measured in 9 patients. The osmolality increased significantly from 1 to 6 minutes after the contrast injection, then it went down to initial value after 10 minutes. LVEDP was elevated following the left ventriculography using Urografin 76. The degree of increase of LVEDP was mo e ficant in the group of myocardial impairment than in the group without impairment. The increase of LVEDP seemed to depend chiefly upon the directed effect of Urografin 76 myocardium rather than the increased circulating volume. Therefore, the use of rather low dose of contrast dye is suggested for patients with myocardial impairment.
