Gas bubble behavior immersed in liquid under high intensity ultrasonic field was studied using the self-consistent model developed by Ryu and Kwak. Under the periodic ultrasonic field with amplitude of 110kPa and frequency of 20kHz, the temperature at the center air bubble with equilibrium radius of 20㎛ reached as high as 4500 ~ 6800K at the time of bubble collapse. The heat flux from the bubble to the surrounding fluid by conduction is about 46.2 ~ 290MW/㎡ at this stage. Calculation results support the hot spot theory which states that the phenomenon of sonoluminescence is due to chemiluminescence by the high temperature of gas inside bubble.
