글쓰기 비교과 프로그램이 대학생의 소통역량에 미치는 영향

목적 본 연구의 목적은 글쓰기 비교과 프로그램이 대학생의 소통역량을 함양하는 데 어떠한 영향을 주는지 각 요인에 따라 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 S대학의 핵심역량 진단도구 중 소통역량 척도를 기준으로 학생들의 일반적 특성에 따른 차이를 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 글쓰기 비교과 프로그램이 학생들의 소통역량 함양에 미치는 요인별 영향을 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 프로그램 개선에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 방법 S대학에서 2022년 10월부터 12월까지 진행된 글쓰기 비교과 프로그램에 참여한 재학생 90명을 대상으로, 프로그램 참여 전후의 소통역량 변화를 문항별, 성별, 학년별, 단과대별로 분석하였다. 또한 일반적 특성별로 프로그램에 대한 만족도 조사를 진행하였다. 데이터 분석은 IBM SPSS 21.0을 활용하여 대응표본 t-검정, 반복측정 분산분석, 독립표본 t-검정, 일원배치 분산분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 소통역량 변화는 문항별, 일반적 특성 중 성별에서는 유의한 차이가 관찰되지 않았지만, 학년과 단과대에 따라 유의한 차이가 관찰되었다. 둘째, 비교과 프로그램에 대한 만족도는 일반적 특성(성별, 학년, 단과대)에 관계 없이 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 결론 글쓰기 비교과 프로그램이 대학생의 소통역량 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 모든 학생에게 균일한 효과를 제공하고 있음을 시사한다. 이에 대학 교육에서 학생들의 소통역량 개발을 위한 교육과정 및 비교과 프로그램의 중요성이 강조됨과 동시에, 프로그램의 장기적인 효과, 다양한 학습 스타일에 대한 적합성 그리고 다른 교육적 맥락에서의 적용 가능성에 대한 심도 있는 연구가 필요함을 제언한다. Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of a writing extracurricular program on university students' communication competency. This study examined differences in the communication competency scale items and the program satisfaction items by background variables to utilize the findings as foundational data for program improvement. Methods Ninety university students who participated in the writing extracurricular program from October 2022 to December 2022 were targeted for analyzing changes in the communication competency before and after par-ticipation in the program. The program satisfaction by background variables such as majors or genders was surveyed. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS 21.0, employing paired-sample t-tests, repeated meas-ures ANOVA, independent-sample t-tests, and one-way ANOVA. Results Although no significant differences were observed in the communication competency changes by items and background variables, significant differences were found by years and departments. Additionally, the program satisfaction did not show significant differences across background variables such as genders, years, and departments. Conclusions The writing extracurricular program positively influenced the university students' communication competency and provided uniform benefits to all students. This suggests the importance of curriculum and extra-curricular program development for enhancing students' communication competency in university education. Further research on the long-term effects of the program, its suitability for various learning styles, and its applic-ability in different educational contexts is recommended.
