문제 만들기를 통해 알아본 교사의 내용지식 사용에 대한 결정과 수행 - 미국 사례를 중심으로1

본 연구에서는 예비교사가 문제 만들기 과제를 위해 분수곱셈지식을 사용하는 과정에서 드러나는 이해의 정도와 유형을 미국사례를 중심으로 조사하였다. 이를 위하여, 미국 대학 교사교육과정의 입문단계와 종료단계에 있는 총 164명의 예비초등교사를 대상으로 분수곱셈에 대한 문장제 문제를 작성하게 하고, 이를 수학적 정교성과 작성한 문제에 사용한 분수곱셈의 의미의 유형으로 분석하였다. 분석결과는 교육과정 입문단계와 종료단계의 예비교사 그룹 간의 차이점, 각 그룹, 그리고 전체적인 경향에 대해 기술하였고, 분수곱셈 지도와 교사교육에 대한 시사점을 제공하였다. 164 preservice elementary teachers` decision and enactment of their knowledge of fraction multiplication were examined in a context where they were asked to write a story problem for a multiplication problem with two proper fractions. Participants were selected from an entry level course and an exit level course of their teacher preparation program to reveal any differences between the groups as well as any recognizable patterns within each group and overall. Patterns and tendencies in writing story problems were identified and analyzed. Implications of the findings for teaching and teacher education are discussed.

Integrating Math and Music: Teaching Ideas

Mathematical creativity, an important goal in mathematics education, can be promoted through an integrated learning environment where students explore mathematics with other subject areas such as science, technology, engineering and art. Establishing such learning environments is not a trivial task. Therefore, this creates a need for the development of instructional resources promoting meaningful integration. This paper focuses on integration of the fields of mathematics and music. Beginning with some of the historical discoveries and views of the connections between mathematics and music, this paper attends to several musical concepts correlating to middle school mathematical content and then provides ideas for teaching.

교과서 실생활 문제 분석 - 미국 Precalculus 교과서를 중심으로 -

본 논문은 수학 교과서에 사용되는 실생활 관련 문제들에서 ‘사람의 존재 (Human presence)`` 가 얼마만큼 실제적 또는 현실적으로 묘사되는지를 조사한 연구이다. 연구에 사용된 교과서는 미국 동부 지역 고등학교Precalculus 수업에 많이 이용되는 Addison Wesley에서 출판된 Precalculus: Graphical, Numerical, Algebraic, Seventh Edition (2006) 이다. 본 논문에서는 실생활 관련 문제에서의 ’사람의 존재 (Human presence)’ 유무와 특성을 분석하기 위해 개발된 분석틀과 이 분석틀을 사용하여 분석한 결과들을 소개하고 시사점을 제언한다. In order to determine the message that is communicated to students about people who use math, this study analyzes contexts, human presence in particular, used in problems presented in a U. S. high school mathematics textbook. A framework was developed to analyze the human presence and was used to determine both the degree to which humans are present in the curriculum as well as characteristics of the present humans. One outcome of this study is the framework itself which can be used to analyze the human presence in any mathematics curriculum. Other outcomes include the determination that the particular mathematics textbook under study contains an overwhelming lack of humans, a surprising lack of named humans, and a disappointing presence of humans in math-related careers. These findings raise concerning questions about the message that is communicated to students about the usefulness of school mathematics and missing a valuable opportunity to inspire students to pursue degrees in mathematics. Additionally, it is hoped that these findings would inform the work of the Korean mathematics education communities on the textbook development.

중학교 수학 교과서의 통계적 소양 수준 반영 정도

The importance of statistics in everyday life and work place has led to calls for an increased attention to statistical literacy in the mathematics curriculum both internationally and domestically. While professional organizations and researchers propose perspectives towards and models of statistical literacy, conceptions and elements of statistical literacy vary. This study examines how mathematics textbook questions fulfill the requirements of statistical literacy by employing two models: Watson's model focusing on understanding of statistical language and Curcio's model on data interpretation aspects of statistical literacy. For this, a total of 872 problem questions presented in the statistics units of from ten textbooks for the middle school year 1 mathematics were analyzed.

RPP(Role-Play Presentation)를 통한 교사의 AI 교사와의 지각된 상호작용성 분석

본 연구에서는 롤플레이 게임(Role-play Game) 개념을 차용한 역할연기발표(Role-play Presentation) 기법을 적용하여 미래 교육에서 인간 교사-인공지능 교사 간의 상호작용성에 대한 교사의 인식과 기대감을 시각화함으로써 교사들의 협업과정에서 성과 있는 토론활동을 수행할 수 있도록 하였다. 분석 결과 교사는 수업 상황에서 인간 교사가 수업의 주도권과 학생과의 상호작용 활성화를 전제로 수업의 질적 향상과 개별학습을 지원할 수 있는 보조 도구로써의 인공지능 교사의 상호작용 요인들을 제안하고 있었다. As many changes in the future society represented by the age of artificial intelligence(AI) are expected to come, efforts are being made to draw the shape of the future education and various research methods are being employed to support the attempts. While many research studies use methods for deriving generalized results such as expert survey and trend analysis in along with a review of literature, there are attempts to apply the scenario methodology to explore ideas and information needed within a changing context. A scenario method, one of the experiential learning strategies, aims to seek various and alternative approaches by establishing a plan from the present conditions considering future changes. In this study, in-service teachers’ perceptions and expectations of the interactivity between human and AI teachers were visualized by applying the role-play presentation technique that grafted the concept of role-play game to the scenario method. In addition, the mandal-art method was introduced to support in conducting productive discussion during the teachers’ collaboration. This method appeared to help to depict teachers' perceptions of AI teachers in the detailed and concrete form, which may flow in the abstract otherwise. Through analyses of the teachers’ role-play presentations with the implementation of the madal-art method it was suggested that most teachers would want to collaborate with an AI teacher for improved instruction and individualized student learning while they would take the instructional authority over the AI teacher in the classroom.

핀란드 교육 관련 연구 동향분석 네트워크 : 텍스트 분석을 중심으로

핀란드 교육은 2001년 PISA 발표 이래 계속 한국 교육의 경쟁자 또는 지향점이었다. 그러나 최근 우리 교육계에 나타나고 있는 분열과 대립 그리고 불행의 지표들을 보면, 핀란드의 행복교육과는 거리가 너무도 멀다. 이런 배경에서 본 연구의 목적은 한국 학술지에 나타난 핀란드 교육관련 연구동향을 분석하는 것으로, RISS에서 논문 제목에 핀란드와 교육이 들어간 논문 160편을 대상으로 네트워크 텍스트 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 핀란드 교육에 대한 연구는 점진적으로 증가하고 있다. 그러나 최근 감소세를 보였다. 둘째, 연구주제는 대부분 미시적이었으며 연구방법은 문헌연구 위주였다. 셋째, 소수의 연구자가 전체 연구의 1/3을 출판했다. 넷째, 핀란드와 함께 비교된 나라는 일본, 미국, 영국, 호주, 싱가포르 등 주로 신자유주의적 국가였다. 넷째, 연구 주제와 대상이 주로 초중등, 수학·과학 등 PISA의 영향권에 있었다. 향후 핀란드 교육관련 연구에서는 지엽적이고 부분적인 영역에 대한 연구를 넘어 종합적인 관점에서 핀란드의 행복교육을 이루어온 과정과 역사에 대한 체제적 연구를 통해 우리가 배워야 할 시사점을 도출하는 후속 연구가 필요하다. 특히, 문헌연구 위주의 방법을 벗어나 핀란드 교육 커뮤니티와 온라인으로 연계하여 실제 교사, 학부모, 학생 그리고 지역협의회와 정부 관계자들이 함께 논의하고 연구하는 국제공동논의의 장을 만드는 것도 고려되어야 할 것이다. Since the release of the 2000 PISA results, Finland's education has consistently been regarded as a competitor or benchmark for South Korea's educational system. However, recent indicators of division, opposition, and discontent within our educational sphere suggest a considerable departure from Finland's ethos of happiness in education. Against this backdrop, this study aims to analyze the trends in Finnish education-related research appearing in Korean academic journals. Utilizing network text analysis, we examined 160 papers indexed in RISS with titles containing "Finland" and "education". Key findings are as follows. Firstly, research on Finnish education has been steadily increasing, albeit showing recent signs of decline. Secondly, the majority of research topics were micro-level, with literature review-based methodologies predominating. Thirdly, a minority of researchers accounted for one-third of the total research output. Fourthly, countries compared with Finland predominantly included neoliberal states such as Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Singapore. Fifthly, research themes and subjects primarily focused on primary and secondary education, particularly in domains such as mathematics and science, influenced by PISA. Future research on Finnish education should transcend localized and fragmented areas of inquiry, undertaking comprehensive investigations into the processes and history of Finland's happiness-oriented education. Such endeavors are essential for deriving insights crucial for our learning. Particularly, consideration should be given to moving beyond literature-based methodologies, fostering international collaborative discussions facilitated online, and linking the Finnish education community with educators, parents, students, local councils, and governmental stakeholders to collectively discuss and research.
