As the bentonite is main material to prevent from collapse of drilling hole at underground excavation works, it is increased using quantity on construction industry day by day. But, the discarded bentonite that is over using at underground excavation works is caused various environmental trouble as soil and water pollution est. This study aims to propose a foundamental report for pozzolan reaction of discarded Bentonite powder by heat-treatment and cooling as concrete mineral admixture. To find out pozzolan reaction ability of discarded Bentonite powder by indirect cooling & cooling using of water after heat-treatment, the experiments are excuted Phenolphtalein test, setting test, pH test and the analysis by X-ray diffractor. As a result of this study, discarded Bentonite powder can be utilized as concrete mineral admixture by heat-treatment and especially, pozzolan reaction ability of discarded Bentonite powder is superior to the situation of 50$0^{\circ}C$~$700^{\circ}C$, 60min.
Phenobarbital과 Atropine 前處置 白鼠의 網內系 貪食能에 미치는 Vitamin C의 影響

As one of the serial experiment to investigate the effect of vitamin C on the phagocytic function of reticuloendothelial system in rats, the phagocytic activity was assessed by means of carbon clearance method after intraperitoneal administration of vitamin C(50mg/100g of body weight) in the normal rats and pretreated rats with phenobarbital(1mg/100g of body weight) and atropine(0.2mg/100g of body weight) respectively. The following results were obtained; 1. In the vitamin C treated group, the phagocytic activity showed an increased level since one hour after injection, and continued increment until twelve hours after injection. 2. In the group of rats pretreated with phenobarbital, threre was no significant difference in phagocytic activity compared with normal and saline injected control group. 3. In the group of rats pretreated with atropine, there was also no significant difference in phagocytic activity compared with normal and control group. From these results, it may be concluded that phagocytic funtion of reticuloendothelial system is increased significantly following administration of vitamin C, and phenobarbital or atropine induced reticuloendothelial suppression is vanishid by administration of megadosage of vitamin C.
DMBA(9,10-Dimethyl-1,2-Benzanthracene) 유도 악성섬유조직구종에 관한 실험적 연구

To investigate the morphological characteristics and histogenesis of the malignant fibrous histiocytoma(MFH) induced by DMBA(9,10-Dimethy-1,2-Benzanthracene)m 0.1㎖ of 2% DMBA liquid paraffin solution was injected into the knee joint cavities of the Sprague Dawley rats(3 times, 4 weeks interval), thereafter, histologic and enzyme histochemical staines were performed. The obtained results were as follows : 1. Incidence rate of tumors was 94% in DMBA treated group, the first masses were palpated at 10-16 weeks after DMBA injection, and expired at 24 to 33 weeks. 2. The size of the first palpated masses were 2.0×1.4cm on the average, and size of the last palpated masses at death were 5.7×3.8×3.6cm on the average. 3. Grossly, most of the tumors developed single, and were nodular, hard, and well encapsulated. The cut surface disclosed whitish yellow fibrous tissue, and necrosis, hemorrhage, and cyst formation were noted. 4. Microscopically, the findings were compatible with typical form of MFH, storiform-pleomorphic type. Most of the tissues revealed storiform, fascicular, and cartwheel arrangement of the plump fibroblasts, and pleomorphic histiocytes with single or several nucleated giant cells, bizarre cells, vacuolated cells, and myofibroblast like cells. Frequent mitosis were shown. And locally, myxoid change, vascular proliferation, and severe inflammatory cell infiltration with necrosis were observed. 5. PAS positive cells with varing degree of stainity, collagen and reticulin fibers stained with trichrome, van Gieson, and reticulin stains were demonstrated. Myofibroblastc cells were stained with red color for trichrome stain, but cross striations were not observed in PTAH stain. 6. Acid phosphatase activity was strong in almost malignant cells, but alkaline phosphatase and nonspcific esterase activities were not recognized. Above findings are compatible with malignant fibrous histiocytoma and suggest that this tumor originated from undifferentiated mesenchymal cells having the capacity for differentiation toward histiocyte and fibroblast.

To investigate the side effects of the adriamycin on bone marrow and peripheral blood morphologically, all ADR-treated rabbits were given a dose of 0.6mg/kg on alternate days, three times a week, achieving a total cumulative dose of 11mg/kg to 44mg/kg. In each group, the bone marrow tissue and peripheral blood are obtained 24 hours after termination of injection, and stained with Wright-Giemds & perexidase in bone marrow, H-E & reticulin in peripheral blood. The results are as follows: 1. The cellularity of the bone marrow was decreased as the dosage of ADR was increased. The most prominent group revealed the changes similar to the findings of aplastic anemia. That is, the marrow was nearly filled with plasma cells, lymphocytes, and histiocytes. But the fibrosis of the marrow was not seen. 2. One month after termination of treatment of the ADR, the cellularity of the marrow was increased to 30% and all the cells of the marrow were recovered. 3. After treatment of ADR, the platelet of the peripheral blood were decreased rapidly, but the myeloid and erythroid cells were decreased progressively. The degree of the change was more marked in larger dosage group. After stop of the treatment, all cells were recovered to nearly normal state rapidly.

The present experiment was designed to investigate the influences of autonomic nervous system on the phagocytic function of reticuloendothelial system in rat. The phagocytic activity was assessed by means of carbon clearance method after norepinephrine, reserpine, actylcholine or atropine had been administered into rats. The following results were obtained: 1. In the norepinephrine treated group, the phagecytic activity was increased significantly compared with that of normal and control group. And the phagocytic activity was in proportion to the infused dosage of norepinephrine. 2. In the reserpine treated group, the phagocytic activity showed an increased level till six hours after the injection, thereafter, it returned gradually to the normal level by twelve hours. 3. In the acetylcholine treated group , the phagocytic activity was increased significantly between the infused dosage of acetylcholine and RES phagocytic activities. 4. In the atropine treated group, the phagocytic activity showed an increased level till six hours after the injection. Thereafter, it returned gradually to the normal level by twelve hours.
