The carcass traits in live Hanwoo were estimated using the ultrasonic color scanning scope. A total number of 229 bull and steer records were measured. The data were collected for two years from 1992 to 1993. `Ihe estimates of backfat thickness using ultrasonic measurement from live animals for bulls and steers were 0.5㎝ and 0.91㎝, respectively, and those of slaughter measurement were 0.48㎝ and 0.91㎝, correspondingly. And also, the similar results were found for eye muscle area(EMA). The blue dot percentage indicating the marbling score tended to increase from 18 month of age to 21 month of age. The prediction equation using the linear regression were highly accurate for meat quantity(R²=0.91 to 0.93) but was less accurate for meat quality(R²=0.4).

Existent researches about indoor thermal environment had been focused on to seek human's comfort in daytime. Also researches about thermal comfort during the sleeping time that is important for resting and recharging to modern people had been seldom existed. At present, as global warming phenomenon is being continued, most people are going through inconvenience by sultriness during the sleeping hours when sweltering night in summer. Therefore we need another control method of air conditioner to keep human's thermal comfort. This research recognized about optimal indoor temperature to maintain proper skin temperature and comfort sleep when indoor air is cooled by air conditioner in sweltering summer night. As result in this research, we had found the fact that particular change of air-conditioner temperature helps to maintain agreeable skin temperature during the sleep hours.

Vortex tube is the device that can separate small particles from the compressed gas, as well as compressed gas into hot and cold flow. Energy separation ability of vortex tube has been studied to investigate the possibility of the vortex tube as a substitute for an HVAC system of automobile. Experimental equipment has been made to obtain fundamental design parameters, energy separation characteristics has been analyzed for various supply pressure conditions. As increasing supply pressure, energy separation effect increased. Maximum temperature exists near 0.9 of the cold-out-flow-ratio, and minimum exists near 0.4. Based on the experimental results, the vortex tube for HVAC system of Electric Vehicle was redesigned. Also, detailed design is being processed to meet the air-volume of a commercial HVAC system.
