        Application of augmented reality using neuro-navigation system for individualized brain tumor surgery

        Background : With the recent development of augmented reality (AR) systems, it has become possible to implement three-dimensional (3D) images directly with a microscope using a navigation system. The authors would like to show how this AR system is used in brain tumor surgery. Materials and Methods : From November 2020 to August 2021, consecutive patients who underwent brain tumor surgery were enrolled in this study. Preoperatively, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was obtained using a 3-Tesla scanner. Surrounding significant structures were segmented from MRI. Segmented objects were stored as analyzed images and imported into the navigation system. During the operation, a neuro-navigation system and a microscope were linked and applied. Through the eyepiece of the microscope, segmented objects could be overlaid in AR format on the actual operative field. Results : Thirty-four cases were enrolled in the study. Patients comprised 19 male patients and 15 female patients. The median age was 60 years (range, 36-81 years); 11 cases were meningiomas, 10 cases were metastatic brain tumors, 8 cases were glioblastomas, 2 were hemangioblastomas, and there were 1 ependymoma, 1 giant pituitary adenoma, and 1 primary intracranial lymphoma. All cases were resected gross totally, except two cases (one glioblastoma, and one giant pituitary adenoma). There was no postoperative hemorrhage or infection. Conclusions : Brain tumor surgery using the AR system can increase the convenience of surgery by providing intuitive information to the surgeon. The AR system may become an invaluable tool in delivering safer care to brain tumor patients.

        외식고객의 충성도 분류에 따른 관계편익 지각 차이에 대한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to overview the meaning of customer loyalty to segment customers based on their loyalty and to analyze the difference of loyal customers’ perception of relational benefits in the restaurant industries. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to 500 adults with dining experience at restaurants. Participants were given a brief description of loyalty and were made to choose a specific restaurant they felt loyal to and one with no loyalty. Attitudinal and behavioral loyalty were used in cluster analysis resulting 4 cluster groups. Each group was named true, spurious, latent, and low loyalty. After the groups were separated, ANOVA was used to see if the score of perceived relational benefit showed difference. All four relational benefit including social, psychological, economic, and customization benefit showed significant difference(p<.001). True loyal customers perceived relational benefit as the highest while low loyal customers showed the lowest. For latent and spurious loyal customers, it was found that latent loyal customers showed higher perception than spurious customers.

        벽돌 쌓기 기법을 이용한 원위 요골 관절 내분쇄 골절의 해부학적 정복술

        Purpose: This study examined the clinical outcomes of comminuted intraarticular distal radius fractures treated by an anatomical reduction using a brick-work technique. Materials and Methods: Seventeen patients with AO/OTA type 23-C3 distal radius fractures were enrolled in this study. An anatomical reduction of the articular surface was achieved using a brick-work technique through the dorsal approach and dorsal plates were used for fixation. The postoperative functional results were assessed with the range of motion of the wrist and the modified Mayo wrist score (MMWS). In addition, the radial length, radial inclination, volar tilt, and Lidstrom score were evaluated from the radiology results. The mean postoperative follow-up period was 13.6 months. Results: All patients showed bony union and the mean range of motion of the injured wrists was 94% (92% to 95%) of the uninjured side. The mean MMWS was 85.3, and the functional results were excellent in 12 patients, good in 4, and fair in one at the final follow-up. Based on the final radiographic measurements, the radial length, volar tilt, and radial inclination were 11.4 mm (10.0 to 13.5 mm), 6.6° (—1.8° to 9.2°), and 21.3° (20.1° to 25.7°), respectively. The radiologic results according to the Lidstrom score were excellent in 14 patients and good in three. Conclusion: An anatomical reduction with the brick-work technique is relatively easy, results in a reproducible clinical outcome, and could be a safe and effective treatment option for severe comminuted intraarticular distal radius fractures that are not amenable to volar plate fixation.

      • 다문화사회의 사회통합을 위한 방안

        Before developing teaching and learning programs of intercultural education for undergraduates utilizing movies as one of the most typical digital image media in modern times, we carried out a survey targeting university students and regular adults. The contents of the survey are as follows: ⑴ recognition degree of multi-racial and multi-cultural society, ⑵ perception degree of Korean society as multi-racial and multi-cultural society, ⑶ multi-cultural socialization of Korea, ⑷ information sources of multi-culture, ⑸ needs of intercultural education, ⑹ subjects and contents of intercultural education in Korean multi-cultural society, ⑺ bias degree towards people with backgrounds of other cultures, ⑻ direct interaction with people who have backgrounds of other cultures, ⑼ effective teaching and learning medium of intercultural education, ⑽ needs of bringing up experts for intercultural education. Through the analysis result of the survey, we tried to emphasize the needs for the development of teaching and learning program of intercultural education utilizing digital image media. 본 논문은 대표적인 디지털 영상매체 중의 하나인 영화를 활용하여 대학생을 위한 상호문화교육 교수-학습 프로그램 개발에 앞서, 본 논문은 대학생과 일반인을 대상으로 하여 ⑴ 다인종·다문화에 관한 인지도, ⑵ 한국사회를 다인종·다문화사회로 바라보는 인식도, ⑶ 한국의 다문화사회화, ⑷ 다문화 관련 정보획득의 원천, ⑸ 상호문화교육의 필요성, ⑹ 한국적 다문화사회에서 상호문화교육의 대상과 교육내용, ⑺ 타문화권 배경을 지닌 주체에 대한 편견도, ⑻ 타문화권 배경을 지닌 주체와의 교류 여부, ⑼ 상호문화교육의 효과적인 교수-학습 매체, ⑽ 상호문화교육 전문가 육성의 필요성에 대한 설문조사를 시행하여 그 결과를 분석한다. 이를 통해 본 연구자들은 디지털 영상매체를 활용한 상호문화교육 교수-학습 프로그램 개발의 필요성을 강조하는데 본 논문의 목적이 있다.

        골다공증성 척추 골절 환자의 수술적 치료 시 고려 사항: 외과적 적응증, 접근 방법, 고정 방법, 이식 재료의 선택

        Study Design: A review of the literature. Objectives: To review the current evidence on the development of a viable surgical strategy for successful treatment of patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures. Summary of Literature Review: Achieving rigid and stable spinal column reconstruction in elderly patients with osteoporosis is challenging because of the poor healing capacity and weak mechanical strength of their bones. Materials and Methods: A literature search of clinical and biomechanical studies on the issues of surgical treatment of patients with osteoporotic vertebral collapse was performed and reviewed in terms of the surgical approach, fixation, graft material, and medical considerations. Illustrative cases of the authors’ experiences were presented and reflected upon. Results: Posterior spinal fusion and vertebral augmentation showed shorter operating times, less bleeding, and fewer complications with comparable or superior clinical results than anterior corpectomy and fusion or a posterior closing wedge vertebral shortening procedure in multiple studies. Therefore, we recommend the former as a first-line surgical plan for patients with osteoporotic vertebral collapse. However, in some patients who suffer fixed kyphosis, or spinal cord compression by a retropulsed bony fragment or bone cement, or infected vertebroplasty, an anterior approach could be considered to remove the pertinent lesion and to restore anterior spinal column. For the enhancement of the purchasing strength of the screw in the osteoporotic vertebra (e), a technique of prefilled bone cement in the instrumented vertebra(e) or injection of bone cement through a fenestrated screw is useful. Further, preoperative assessment and correction of systemic and local factors that affect bone healing is required when spinal fusion surgery is considered in elderly osteoporotic patients. The selection of the graft material should be individualized according to the property among osteoconduction, osteoinduction, and ostegenesis, or structural support that is the most important for the successful bone healing of each patient. Conclusions: Comprehensive geriatric assessment and management of elderly patients before surgery and careful and meticulous surgical planning with respect to the surgical approach, instrumentation, and the graft material are important to achieve the best outcome of the surgical treatment of patients with osteoporotic vertebral collapse. 연구 계획: 종설. 목적: 본 연구에서는 골다공증성 척추 골절 환자에서 성공적인 수술적 치료를 위해 외과적 접근법, 기기 고정술, 이식 재료 선택 등에 있어 어떤 고려가 필요한지 살펴보겠다. 선행 문헌의 요약: 고령 환자에서 골다공증과 관련된 척추의 골절에 대한 수술적 치료는, 뼈의 기계적·물리적 강도가 약하고, 골 유합 능력이 저하되어 있어튼튼한 고정과 성공적인 골 유합을 얻는데 실패하는 경우가 많다. 대상 및 방법: 골다공성 척추 골절 이후 수술적 치료를 시행할 경우 고려해야 할 내과적, 일반적 사항 및 외과적 접근법, 기기고정술, 이식 재료의 선택에 관한연구 결과를 보고한 문헌을 검색하여 최신 지견을 정리하고 저자들의 경험에 비추어 고찰한다. 결과: 후방접근수술과 척추성형술을 함께 시행할 경우 할 경우 합병증 및 수술시간, 출혈량 등에 있어 장점이 있고, 많은 척추 외과의사에게 훨씬 익숙한 술식이라는 점에서 불유합된 골다공증성 척추 골절에서 수술적 치료를 요할 때 가장 일차적으로 고려할 만한 술식으로 권할 만 하다. 후만 변형이 복와위 체위에의해 교정되는 정도가 크지 않고, 척수를 압박하는 골편이나 시멘트가 있거나 감염된 시멘트 등 병소를 직접 제거해야 하는 경우 전방접근법을 고려할 수 있다. 골다공증성 척추의 나사못 고정술 시행 시 충분한 고정력을 얻을 수 없는 경우 시멘트 충전 이후 나사못 삽입방법을 이용할 수 있다. 아울러 고령 환자의생물학적 내과적 특성을 고려하여 영양상태 등 골유합에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 생물학적 변수들을 가능한 최적의 조건으로 맞추기 위한 노력이 필요하다. 결론: 고령의 골다공증성 척추 골절 환자의 수술적 치료 시, 포괄적 노인의학적 평가를 통하여 수술적 치료의 득과 실을 면밀히 살피고, 다양한 수술 방법과이식물의 장단점을 따져서 최선의 외과적 접근법, 기기고정술, 이식재료 등을 선택 하는 것이 성공적인 치료를 위하여 중요하다.

        고주파 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 제조된 ZnO:Ga,In(IGZO) 박막의 특성

        IGZO thin films have been prepared by RF magnetron sputtering. The structural, electrical and optical properties of the IGZO thin films have been investigated as a function of deposition condition. XRD analysis of IGZO thin films showed a typical crystallographic orientation with c-axis perpendicular regardless of deposition conditions. The carrier mobility, carrier concentration and resistivity of the IGZO films sputtered at 200 W, 1mTorr and $300^{\circ}C$ were $28.5cm^2/V{\cdot}sec$, $2.6{\times}10^{20}cm^3$, $8.8{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ respectively. The optical transmittance were higher than 80% at visible region regardless of the deposition conditions under the experiments above, and specifically higher than 90% at wave length over 500 nm. The absorption edge was shifted to shorter wavelength with increase of carrier concentration.
