This paper proposes a counter structure for low-power single-slope ADC (SSADC) operation of a CMOS Image Sensor (CIS). This work minimized power consumption by tweaking the operation of the LSB flipflop and LSB+1 flipflop. The proposed counter was confirmed to have a power saving effect of 62.5% compared to the conventional counter through simulation. This work is expected to contribute to low-power SSADC design.

This paper presents an analysis of noise generated by jumper wires, which are used in gas sensor measurement systems due to structural constraints, and proposes a circuit modeling-based method to minimize the impact of parasitic elements. Initially, noise effects resulting from parasitic elements of jumper wires were identified using measured data. Subsequently, each circuit component was modeled and validated at the simulation level to propose an optimized signal and power integrity design method. By analyzing the impact of often overlooked circuit components like jumper wires in gas measurement system configurations, this paper aims to provide guidelines for ensuring the reliability of measurement data. The simulations to validate the proposed design methods were conducted using Cadences Spectre program and Spice Models for each component.

This paper describes a 128x128 array ROIC mechanism for infrared detectors and a customized verification mode and evaluation methodology for ROIC verification. This work focuses on identifying and analyzing the main structure of the ROIC in silicon. The prototype chip is fabricated on TSMCs 0.18um 1Poly-6Metal with 390 frames per second and 42.25mW power consumption. This paper can be used in various applications and is expected to contribute to the development of SWIR infrared imaging systems with future applicability and wide scope of application.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate functional disability for the elderly in rural Korea and to identify influencing factors of functional disability. Methods : The data were collected for 76 community-dwelling elderly in rural area and above 65 years. We assessed cognitive function, functional disability, depression using LACLS, WHODAS 2.0, SGDS-K. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics for general characteristics of subjects, Spearman’s correlation among LACLS, SGDS-K, WHODAS 2.0, age, educational levels. And multiple regression was used to find influencing factors of functional disability. Results : As a result of this study, we identified that WHODAS 2.0 total score was 50.59, summary score was 9.94 and functional disability of the elderly in rural area is in the 70th percentile. The highest level of disability occurred in areas related to ‘life activities (household)’, ‘participation in society’ and the lowest level of disability occured in areas of ‘self-care’, ‘getting along with people’. Functional disability was significantly correlated with age (r=.398), cognitive function (r=-.547), depression (r=-.563) but not educational levels (r=-.215). Finally, we confirmed that depression (β=.371), cognitive function (β=-.263), widowed status (β=.303), age (β=.272), non-participation of community program (β=.165) was significantly influencing factors of functional disability and the explanatory power of these factors was 52.80 %. Conclusion : This study revealed important factors of functional disability. Therefore, we need to consider these factors when we developed program related to health for the elderly (aged > 65 years) in rural Korea. Further, we need to standardize WHODAS 2.0 in order to enhance its applicability in clinical practices.

This paper proposes an object-based auto-exposure adjustment system to enhance object detection performance under various illumination conditions. The system automatically adjusts the exposure value through a feedback loop when the current lighting conditions are not suitable for object detection. The proposed method focuses on adjusting the exposure for object candidate regions, utilizing semantic information of specific areas to improve the final object detection accuracy. Additionally, it reduces computational costs by minimizing processing for irrelevant areas. The network architecture is robust and efficient under diverse environmental conditions, contributing to the development of integrated systems where AI models and external hardware devices operate together in the field of object detection.
