후하악부 절개를 통한 하악골 관절돌기 골절의 치료 후 임상경과에 대한 고찰

Purpose: For several decades, open reduction has been a controversial issue in mandibular condyle fracture. The authors have successfully used the open reduction and internal fixation with retromandibular approach and have found it to be satisfactory for mandibular condyle fracture. Methods: A total of 10 patients with mandibular condyle fracture underwent open surgical treatment using retromandibular approach. The incision for the retromandibular approach was carried below the ear lobe and the facial nerve branches were identified. Dissection was continued until the fracture site was exposed and internal fixation was performed with miniplate following intermaxillary fixation. The average period of joint immobilization was 1 weeks and the arch bars were removed in 3 weeks on average. The preoperative and postoperative panoramic view and three-dimensional computed tomography were compared. During the follow up period, we evaluated the presence of malocclusion, chin deviation, trismus, pain, click sound, facial nerve palsy, hypertrophic scar and skin fistula. Results: According to the radiographic findings, the fractured condyle was reducted satisfactorily in all patients without any symptoms of facial palsy. During the follow up period ranged form 6 to 12 months, all clinical symptoms were improved except in one case with chin deviation and malocclusion. Conclusion: Using open reduction and internal fixation of mandibular condyle fracture with retromandibular approach, all results were satisfactory with good functional outcomes and minimal complication. We concluded that the open surgical treatment should be considered as the first choice for mandibular condyle fracture management.

사회조직에 관한 고찰

This study is about the conceptual schems of social organizations, their basic elements, processual structures, and their principles. The major contents of this study can be briefly summarized as follows: First, this study defines social organization as a multi-social status and social role arrangement established by a number of people to accomplish their common goal through a series of mutual cooperation and planned section for it. In short, social organization as a social alignment implies a socially planned action unit. Second, this thesis points out that there are four basic elements within any social organization. And they are (1) Social alignment including social structure in narrow sense of the term, (2) social controls, (3) social media, and (4) social standards: systems of values. Again all these four elements can be divided up into two categories: (1) social structure and (2) a system of common beliefs and socialization. Third, according to this study the major principles to social organization include a territoriality, and individual choice and organizational decision, representation, and responsibility as well. Fourth, this study also indicates that the processual structure of social organization is mainly consisted of such social processes as meeting, discussing, consenting, consulting, and furthermore, an elaborate sequence of action, at the expense of sacrifice of human energies. At this juncture it should be noted that a time factor or the conception of time may be another additional element to the processual structure of social organization, according to the analysis by this study. Finally, American sociologist Blau and Scott did not regard a community as social organization. This theis, however, on the contrary to the above view defines a community as a kind of complex social organization upon the basis of a broader and more dynamic view of human community and social organization. It is a departure of this study from the notion of social organization held by the sociologists Blau and Scott.

태자가토와 성숙가토의 혈소판 응집능 차이

There are many characteristic different findings in the wound healing process fetus and adults. Fetal wound healing process is rapid, and shows minimal inflammation, mild fibroplasia, and organized collagen deposition such that scarring is not apparent. Although the study of wound healing and connective tissue metabolism has been continue to fine out the mechanism of scarless wound healing in fetus, little is known about the main factors governing the process, and scarless fetal wounds are relatively deficient in the inflammatory cytokine and growth factors such as transforming growth factor beta and platelet derived growth factor. The initiation of the inflammation starts from platelet aggregation followed by secretion of inflammatory cytokine and growth factor which induce the infiltration of the inflammatory cell and fibroblast. The inflammatory cytokine and growth factor released from platelet initiate inflammation which is initial stage of wound healing process. In this context, it is suggested that the decreased function of fetal platelet may be one of the factors which affect the scarless would healing in fetus. The experimental rabbits were grouped as follows. control group : matured adult rabbit. experimental group consisted of 26 and 29 days of gestation, and 2, 10, 20, 30 day~old newborn rabbits. The platelet aggregation in each group was evaluated by whole blood AGGRO-METER. The results are as follows ; 1. Platelet aggregation of adult rabbit is similar to that of human. 2. Decreased aggregation was demonstrated in platelets from fetal rabbits. 3. Platelet aggregation was impaired after birth and getting closer to that of the adult rabbit progressibly.

헤파린이 쥐의 창상치유에서 MMP-1,2,9 mRNA의 발현에 미치는 영향

Purpose: This study was to investigate how the heparin, which has been known to induce neovascularization by MMP in the infarcted tissue of the myocardium, had influence on the expression of mRNA of MMP 1,2,9 of the skin wound of rat. Methods: Full depth skin wounds were created on the dorsum of Sprague-Dawley 60 rats. The experimental rats were divided into two groups according to the concentration of heparin(100μg/ml in 20, 300μg/ml in 20). Heparin soaked gelatin sponges in different concentration were inserted into the pocket of experimental rats and the wounds were closed. Normal saline soaked gelatin sponges were used in control rats. Wounds were harvested at 48 and 72 hours after closure. We performed histologic study in H-E stain. RNA was isolated from the harvested tissue and then real time polymerase chain reaction was performed to determine the gene expression of MMP-1,2,9.Results: We observed that inflammatory cell decreased in heparin soaked group and heparin increased the expression of MMP-1,9 mRNA of dorsal wound of rat at 72 hours (p<0.05).Conclusion: This result suggest that heparin may be used inducing another factor inducing scarless wound healing by increasing MMP.

배양된 연골세포에 미치는 세라마이드의 세포독성 효과

Selective induction of cell death or so called apoptosis is a means to remove unwanted cell populations from a tissue or organ. Ceramide is an important messanger of TNF- α , IL-1, Fas-ligand, and bcl-2 induced apoptosis, but many of the intracellular effects of ceramide in various types of cells are not fully understood. The current study was designed to investigate the effect of various ceramides on the cytotoxicity of cultured chondrocyte. Cultured chondrocytes were isolated from auricular cartilage of the New Zealand white rabbit. Chondrocytes were exposed to various type, concentration, and chain length of ceramide for 24 hours and extents of cytotoxicity were assessed by measuring the activity of LDH released into the media. Additionally. chondrocytes treated with various ceramides were analysed by flow cytometry and TUNEL staining. Considering released LDH activity, ceramide and phytoceramide were found to be cytotoxic. But, dihydroceramide was found to be non-cytotoxic. Among ceramides and phytoceramides having acyl chains two to eight carbons long, the cytotoxicity was highest with short (two) chain carbons. Flow cytometry showed that apoptotic cell rate was not significantly different between ceramide or phytoceramide treated group and control one. Instead, necrotic cell rate of ceramide or phytoceramide treated group was significantly higher than control group. TUNEL staining showed negative reaction occurred in the various type of ceramides or phytoceramides treated chondrocytes. From above results, we suggest that ceramide and phytoceramide have cytotoxic effect on cultured chondrocyte, but it is not related to apoptosis but necrosis.

Effect on Friction of Engine Oil Seal with Engine Oil Viscosity

Low viscosity engine oil can improve a vehicle’s fuel economy by decreasing the friction between the engine components. Frictional torque varies with the velocity change due to different viscosity characteristics of SAE grade 5W-20, 5W-30 and 5W-40 engine oils. The viscosity for each of these grades was measured to outline the effect low viscosity engine oils have on engine friction, which may lead to improved fuel economy. Engine oil seal frictional torque increases with the shaft rotational speed for all three engine oil grades. A decrease in engine oil seal frictional torque was confirmed when low viscosity engine oil was used. Also, the leak-free performance of the engine oil with the seal satisfied the life limit durability test criteria. Thus, low viscosity engine oil may be used to improve fuel economy by decreasing the frictional loss of the engine oil seal while having no negative impact on performance due to leak-free functioning.

한국인의 대일관에 관한 고찰

This study is an attempt to explore the state of Korans Common feelings toward Japanese national character and its changes, in reference to the existing internaional relations between Korea and Janan. The approaches to this stndy are based on the sociological and anthropological analyses of the published literatures pertinent to Japanese studies and the outcome of the attitudinal survey conducted during the 15th-24th of August, 1987, and designed to examine the Korean view of Japan as found among the selected students from both D and H Universities in Seoul and their parents, and slao, the utillzatin of the important satistical data drawn from both sources-The Chung Ang Daily Press Survey of September 25, 1985 and The International Human Rights News Poll of March 15, 1987. This study includes 2.124 study samples or respondents which can be divided social-categorically into the professional and non-professional groups. The findings of the present study indicate that over the two-third of the above respondents who elong to the non-professional expressed very strongly their feelings of animosity toward Japanese whom they consider "Compulsive aggressors", while the approximately one-third of the above total respondents who might be identified with the professional, showed a mild admiraiton for Japanese national character, regarding the Japanese as the most Rind and detrmined people. Here, it should be noted that these respondents as the professinal intellectuals in Korea, have had, at least in last ten years a much more experience in cultural contact with Japanese, compared with the non-professinal respondents. This seems to indicate that as more cultural contact he has, proportionately less ethnocentric he will be In short, this study shows that there is a clear-cur correlation between the cultural contact and cultural relativism. Next, this study demonstrater a generation gap between the selected college students and their parents in value judgement against the politi-cal-economic alliance between Korea and Japan. That is to say, 31.4% out of 51 student respondents have showed a positive approval of this alliance, while only 13.5% out of 37 parental respondents have endorsed it perhaps, as the conclusions of this study it can be stated that the public sentiment of Anti-Japanism in Korea is still deeply rooted there as a social heritage and so that most Koreans tend to view the Japanese ethnically as the most compulsive people in the world, who are preoccu-pied with "repressed unconscions feelings of aggression". Their uiews of the Japanese, according to this study, are quite similar to those perspectives on Japanese national character that were offered more than fourty years ago by some western scholars, notably the worldly-Known social anthropologists Geoffrey Gorer (Transactions of the New York Academy of Sciences, Series Ⅱ, Vol. V, PP.106~24, 1949) and Western Ja Barre ("Some Observations on Character Structure in the Orient: The Japanese", Psychiatry, Vol. 8, 1945, P.326).
