Objective: In an effort to develop a more effective therapeutic strategy for ovarian cancer, we examined whether the restoration of the wild-type p53 gene can enhance the therapeutic effect of chemotherapy. Methods: In this study, Ov-ca-2774 cells, which are known to have p53 point mutation and cisplatin-resistance, were selected and currently used chemotherapeutic agents including cisplatin, carboplatin, paclitaxel, etoposide, topotecan, and doxorubicin were added concurrently or sequentially with adenovirus-mediated p53 gene transfer (Ad5CMV-p53). Results: Transfer of the wild-type p53 cDNA gene into Ov-ca-2774 cells showed 55% cell killing in vitro at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 40. Although the combination of carboplatin or paclitaxel followed by p53 gene transfer with an interval of 48 h manifested no enhanced cell killing compared with cells infected with Ad5CMV-p53 alone, the other combinations of chemotherapeutic agents and p53 gene transfer resulted in 15% to 37% further cell killing (P$lt;0.05). Furthermore, p53 gene transfer followed by doxorubicin with an interval of 24 h and concurrent combination of etoposide with p53 gene transfer showed significant difference in cell killing in contrast to the other combination strategies in the respective chemotherapeutic agent exposure groups (P$lt;0.05). Conclusion: Our data demonstrated that combination of p53 gene transfer and chemotherapeutic agents had higher cell killing than either of these two modality alone.
대세포 신경내분비암종, 악성 브레너 암종 및 장액성 선암종이 혼합된 난소암 1예

난소에 발생하는 대세포 신경내분비암종은 발생빈도가 매우 드물고, 예후가 불량하며, 상피성 난소암과 주로 동 반하여 발생하는 질환이다. 47세 여성이 정기 검진 중 우연히 발견된 골반내 종괴를 주소로 시험 개복하여 좌 측 자궁 부속기 종괴를 적출한 후 동결절편 조직검사상 악성이 확인되어 근치적 수술을 실시하였다. 육안적 검 사상 종괴는 장축이 11cm로 피막이 부분 파열되어 있었고, 조직검사와 면역조직화학염색상 대세포 신경내분비암 종, 악성 브레너 암종, 장액성 선암종등이 혼합된 형태였다. 난소암 Ic기의 진단 하에 taxol과 cisplatin 병합 항암화학요법을 6회 실시하였고 2년간 추적검사중이며 재발이나 전이의 증후는 발견되지 않았다. Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the ovary is rare, aggressive neoplasm frequently accompanied with surface epithelial tumor. A 47-year old woman with asymptomatic pelvic mass which showed malignant on frozen biopsy underwent total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy, partial omentectomy, appendectomy. Pathologically, size of the pelvic mass was 11cm in greatest diameter with surface rupture. Histology and immunohistochemical staining revealed that large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma accompanied with malignant brenner tumor and serous adenocarcinoma. Under the diagnosis of Ic ovarian cancer, patient received six cycles of taxol and cisplatin. After a follow- up 2 years, she shows no evidence of disease.

Recently, social agreement on the environment pollution has gradually increased in the national and global scope. Also in the last one decades fast industrialism in China has caused to the nations concerns and anxiety on the environmental problems of the North-East Asia including Japan. Korea located mostly close to China has been effected directly on the pollutant products produced from China and many environmental co-work problems of both nations has become to delayed objects anymore. The purpose of this study is to investigate cases and problems of the national overflowing environment pollution and describe answerings.
