For the protection of the environment and the recycling waste concrete, this study will make reinforced concrete beams using recycled aggregates, and make an analysis of characteristics by experiment, first by comparing and considering characteristics of mechanical behavior for the rate of recycled coarse aggregate substitution and second by looking into effects of variables, which are the ratio of non-prestressed tension reinforcement. Also, it will present appropriate methods of appraisal for reinforced concrete beams using recycled aggregates, through comparing experiment values with predicted values of specification based on supporting basic data for real design. In the case of flexural specimens, major experimental variable was the ratio of non-prestressed tension reinforcement, which was changed from 0.28 p<sub>b</sub> to 0.87 p<sub>b</sub>. For each case of variables, the rate of recycled coarse aggregate substitution was changed to 0, 30, 50, and 100 percent.

Recycled aggregates were got by waste concrete was generated when concrete structures were dismembered. But, in concrete structures, because of durability, strength and toughness, recycled aggregates don't use generally. This study was done to use recycled aggregate in concrete structures. Problems of durability, strength, and toughness were caused troubles, when recycled aggregates were used, were solved as steel fibers and additives were added. Of course, steel fiber length, steel fiber contents, additive substitution, and recycled aggregate substitution were variables of this study. After flexural specimens(15X15X70cm) with notch(45mm) were fabricated, basic strength tests were done and toughness was estimated using fracture mechanics parameters. The results suggest that J<sub>IC</sub> is a promising fracture criterion for all of these, while K<sub>IC</sub>(or G<sub>IC</sub>) almost certainly are not.

GFRP plates have been used for strengthening in RC beams because of low material cost and easy repairing work. The purpose of this paper is to experimentally and analytically investigate the size effect of GFRP plate for enhancing the capacity of RC beams. In this paper, with fifteen specimens the structural behavior of RC beams strengthened by GFRP plate was tested. Experimental variable considered setting up three level of strengthing length, width and thickness. As a result of tests performed in this paper indicatest that the main failure mode of GFRP plate is the separation failure type. Considering the size effect of GFRP plate, to increase strengthening adhesion area is more efficient than to increase strengthening thickness.

This study was performed to investigate the strength characterstics of steel fiber reinforced recycled aggregate concrete. Test specimens were prepared with compressive, split tensile, flexural specimens and tested by ultimate strength. A superplasticizer and fly-ash were added to the mix to improve performance of recycled concrete. Test-variables are substitution of recycled aggregate(0, 30, 50%), steel fiber length(0, 30, 50, 60mm), steel fiber content(0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5%). Test-specimen were classified by test-variables. The experimental results on the various engineering properties of steel fiber reinforced recycled aggregate concrete using waste concrete are summarized as follows. It was found that the compressive and split tensile strength were proportionally affected by quantities of recycled aggregate substitutions, but flexural strength wasn't. The maximum compressive strength was 392 kgf/㎠( series 4 : R30 L30 V1.0 A20 ), the maximun split tensile strength was 40 kgf/㎠( series 7 : R30 L30 V1.5 A20) and the maximum flexural strength was 62 kgf/㎠( series 7 : R30 L30 V1.5 A20 ).

This study will make reinforced concrete beams using recycled aggregates, and make an analysis of characteristics by experiment. First, this study will compare and consider characteristics of mechanical behavior for the rate of recycled coarse aggregate substitution. Second, it will look into effects of the shear span to depth ratio (a/d). Also, it will present appropriate methods of appraisal for reinforced concrete beams using recycled aggregates, through comparing experiment values with prediction values of specification, because of supporting basic data for real design. Major experimental variable was the shear span to depth ratio, which was changed from 1.5 to 3.0. For each case of variables, the rate of recycled coarse aggregate substitution was changed to 0, 30, 50, and 100 percent. The total sixteen specimens were producted and tested. From the analysis of the test data, the following conclusions can be drawn: Generally, reinforced concrete beams using recycled aggregates were showing a similar tendency with reinforced concrete beams using broken stones about shear behaviors. So it can be applied to real structures. Using recycled aggregates decreased in diagonal shear strength (V_c). Because Diagonal cracks appeared at 74∼79% of ultimate shear strength, but in the case of using broken stones, diagonal cracks appeared at 82% of ultimate shear strength. Shear beams under 2.0, that's value of a/d, ware sin the failure mode of deep beam. So definition of deep beam is appropriate it under 2.0, that's value of a/d, in the case of shear beams using recycled aggregate.
