Cloning of a Tissue Inhibitor of Matrix Metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) from a Scylliorhinus torazame

Angiogenesis is a fundamental process by which new blood vessels are formed. It is essential in embryo development, and wound healing. Furthermore, malignant tumor growth and metastasis are also angiogenesis-dependent. In the catilage tissue, normal angiogenesis process is suppressed. In fact, it was reported that angiogenesis-inhibitory substances were isolated from the extracts of cow and shark catilage tissue. In order to isolate genes involved in the regulation of angiogenesis from a catilage fish, we constructed a shark cDNA library from Scylliohinus torazame. We then screened the library using hyman tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) gene as a probe. Among the 4 X 10$^{4}$ plaques screened, we isolated 2 positive clones (T-1, T-2). Restriction enzyme analysis revealed that the T-1 clone contains 0.8 kb cDNA insert, and the T-2 clone contains 1.2 kb and 2.2 kb inserts, respectively. Further DNA sequence analysis shows that the DNA sequence of the T-1 clone is 53% homologous to that of the human TIMP-1 gene.
문해교육 활동을 통한 문해교사 인식전환과 역할에 관한 연구

문해교육 활동을 통한 문해교사의 인식변화를 보고자 사례연구방법으로 살펴보았다. 연구목적은 문해교사 활동으로 인식전환을 가져오는 과정과 그에 따른 문해교사의 역할 변화를 발견하고자 하는 것이다. 연구문제는 문해교사 참여 이전의 관점이 활동에 미치는 영향과 활동과정에서의 인식전환을 보고자하며 또한 문해교사 역할과 활동 지속 이유를 알고자 함이다. 이에 따른 결과는 첫째, 문해교사 참여이전에는 한글교육으로만 본 것이 문해교육에 대한 우리 사회의 보편적 인식과도 상관이 있다. 둘째, 문해교사 활동은 교사의 자존감 및 자신감 향상을 가져와 문해교육에 대한 소명의식을 만들고 전문가로 성장함의 계기가 된다. 셋째, 문해교사 활동은 자기반성과 성찰의 기회, 그리고 가정, 사회, 국가에 대한 감사함을 알게 되는 사실이다. 즉, 생활의 활력-인식의 변화-자신의 삶을 변화시켜 타인의 삶에도 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 싶다는 바람으로 나타난다. 넷째, 문해교육 내용과 방법은 학습자의 경험에서 우러나는 것이 적절하며 교사와 학습자가 동일선상에서 출발하는 구성주의 교육방법이 적합하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 다섯째, 문해교사는 스스로를 전문직이라 생각하며 직업은 ‘문해교사’로 호칭은 ‘선생님’으로 불리기를 원한다. The purpose of this study is to research the change of perception of teachers by using literacy education activities. The purpose of this study is to find out the process of bringing recognition change into literacy teacher s activity and the change of role of literacy teacher accordingly. The research wishes to see the effect of the viewpoint before the participation of the learner on the activity and the change of recognition in the course of the activity. The results of this study are as follows: First, it is also related to the universal recognition of Korean society about literacy education. Second, the activities of the literacy teacher bring about improvement of the self-esteem and confidence of the teacher, and it becomes the opportunity of making the consciousness of the vocabulary for the literacy education and growing it as an expert. Third, the activities of literacy teacher are the opportunity of self-reflection and reflection, and gratitude to family, society, and country. In other words, the vitality of life - a change in perception - changes the life of one s own life, and the other is a desire to have a positive impact on the life of others. Fourth, contents and method of the literacy education are appropriate from the learner s experience, and it can be seen that the teacher s and learner s education method of the constituent starting from the same line is suitable. Fifth, the Literature Teacher thinks of himself as a profession and wants to be called teacher of literacy and teacher.

Tritium is an important nuclide that must be monitored for radiation safety management. In this study,HTO was orally administered to rats at the level of 37 kBq (1 mCi) or 370 kBq (10 mCi) to examine tissuedistribution and excretion levels. After sacrifice, wet and dry tissue samples were weighed and analyzedfor tissue free-water tritium (TFWT) and organically bound tritium (OBT). The mean tissue concentrationsof TFWT (OBT) were 30.9 (17.8) and 4.4 (8.1) Bq/g on days 7 and 13 at the 37 kBq level and 30.8(64.6) Bq/g on day 17 at the 370 kBq level. To assess the cytogenetic damage due to tritium exposure, acytokinesis-blocked micronucleus (MN) assay was performed in blood samples from rats exposed to HTOfor 14 and 21 days after oral administration. There was no significant difference in the MN frequenciesbetween the control and exposed rats
