이 글은 한나 아렌트의 「인간의 조건」 출간 50주년을 기념하면서, 「인간의 조건」에 대한 최근 연구 동향을 검토한다. 먼저 한국에서의 기본적인 해석이 가지는 의미와 한계를 세 명의 주요 학자들의 논의를 살펴보며 알아본 뒤, 패첸 마켈, 로이 차오, 수잔나, 고틀립, 엘리자베스 영-브륄들이 최근에 발표한 탁월한 연구들을 분석한다. 마켈은 ‘행위’와 ‘시작’애 대한 아렌트의 논의를 살피면서 ‘지배’에 대한 참신한 설명을 제공하고, 차오의 세밀한 독해는 통상의 생각과는 달리, 아렌트의 이론적 입장이 고대 그리스의 페리클레스적인 정치의 이상과 분명히 구별된다는 사실을 밝힌다. 그런가 하면, 고틀립은 메시아주의의 관점에서 세계를 구원하는 행위의 능력을 조명하고, 영-브륄은 ‘용서’가 정치 공동체의 지도적인 원칙으로 기능한 실제적인 사례를 제시한다. 「인간의 조건」은 분명 아렌트의 저작 중 가장 널리 알려져 왔지만, 아렌트 정치 사장을 보다 온전히 이해하기 위해서는 이 저작에 담긴 다양한 주제들에 대한 연구가 아렌트의 다른 저작들과의 비교와 더불어 심도 있게 수행되어야 할 것이다. This article examines recent scholarships on Hannah Arendt’s The Human Condition, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its first publication. This study first investigates both meanings and limitations of the basic interpretations on The Human Condition by three Korean scholars, and then, scrutinizes recent seminal commentaries by Patchen Markell, Roy Tsao, Susannah Gottlieb, and, to a lesser extent, Elisabeth Young-Bruehl. Inspecting Arendt’s theory of action and beginning, Markell presents a critical account of rule. Tsao’s close reading on the text, against the current, demarcates Arendt’s own theoretical stance, in some significant sense, from the ideal of Attic Periclean politics. From perspective of messianism, on the other hand, Gottlieb illuminates the faculty of action only by which can world be redeemed, while Yeung-Bruehl finds a practical case that the notion of forgiving has been worked as a leading principle of reconciliation of the political community. Although The Human Condition has been recognized as one of the most popular works of Arendt, this article insists that the following in-depth studies, with comparative analysis with her other works, should be continued in order to comprehend her political thought more completely.
스마트시티 인덱스 프레임워크 연구 - 국내 공공기관 개발 인덱스의 통합 및 연계 가능성을 바탕으로 -

Many cities around the world are adopting smart city as a new urban model. In this context, smart city indexes are becoming more important for assessing and evaluating smart cities. A number of smart city indexes were developed in Korea in the past few years, by different entities for different purposes and with no relation to each other. From a user’s perspective, this led to difficulty in understanding smart city indexes and also reduced the usefulness and effectiveness of various indexes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the smart city indexes currently being developed in Korea, and present a comprehensive framework that can integrate and link these smart city indexes. First, we define ‘result-centric’ and ‘process-centric’ evaluation structures for smart city indexes based on literature research. Second, the features and structures of smart city indexes under development were analyzed to develop a comprehensive framework for all smart city indexes, with focus on the indexes from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Third, the concept of smart city index framework is presented, in which various smart city indexes can be organized and utilized. This framework is expected to provide better understanding of different smart city indexes in Korea, and enable better usage and communication among different users of these indexes to address various economic, environmental, social, and other urban issues.

Thrust washer is one of the important machine elements of automobile. It comes in various shapes and sizes and has to be inspected after all manufacturing procedure. The general inspection method that is simply visual check has many problems. It depends on human fatigability and skill. In this research, we study new thrust washer inspection method that uses the vision processing algorithms and automation skills. The new equipment can be used for inspecting most of bad thrust washers automatically. This method improves productivity of thrust washers and gives rise to effective quality control.
