Recently the ratio of elderly in the population are fastly growing due to socio-economic development and the better medical services. As aging, the physical and biological function is decreased. So the risk of deases and disabilites are increased, physical ability is lowered and psychological well-being and quality of life is lowered. Aging is not inevitable in old age, but health promoting behaviors are considered most important factors that will help maintain and inhance functional ability, physical and psychological health. Health promoting behaviors are included self actualization, health responsibility, exercise, nutrition, interpersonal support and stress management. And health promoting behaviors show positive correlation with demographic factors, such as education, economic status, religion and the perception of health status. In developing health promoting programs, above major influencing factors are to be considered.

Crack opening loads are measured by using four methods recently published, and the result is compared with one measured by using visual measurement method. From this, it is found that the method of neural network gives good correlations with the visual measurement and shows good precision. On the other hand, the method proposed byASTM shows some difference with the result of the visual measurement.
Gait Training Algorithm of an End-effector Typed Hybrid Walking Rehabilitation Robot

The present study focused on the gait training algorithm of an end-effector typed hybrid walking rehabilitation robot that our research group developed in 2017. One motor and five link mechanism in the end-effector typed hybrid walking rehabilitation robot were used to mimic normal gait patterns. Depending on patients’ condition and training difficulty, three gait rehabilitation training modes were proposed. Mode 1 is a passive mode that motor leads to patients’ walking entirely, Mode 2 is an assisted-active mode that a part of patients’ muscle strength were supported depending on their walking intention, and Mode 3 is an active mode that patients walk on their own muscle strength under gait resistance by eddy current brake. At each training mode, patients’ muscle strength performance by driving motor was experimentally verified using electromyography. In addition, gait symmetry between injured limb and uninjured limb improved as evidenced by motion capture analysis using inertial measurement unit.

In this study, the reduction method for the multi-channel load history data is developed to reduce simulation time for fatigue strength analysis of automotive structure. Load history data from five load cells attached between frame and body are used. From the result, it can be seen that 78 ∼ 93 percent of the original data can be reduced by using the reduction method and the fundamental characteristic of testing road can be seen from the data reduction ratio.

In this study, durability of the rack and pinion power steering system was evaluated. For this work, rig tests for QC spec. and simulation tests were performed for road load date measured proving ground. For some parts of the tested steering system, change of the dimension were measured and performance test were performed. From this, the items for durability evaluation of the steering system were determined.
