It is well known that mercury bichloride causes necrosis of the kidney with predilection for proximal convoluted tubules. Ultrastructural study on this subject is sporadic, however. In an efforts to clarify further the relationship between ultrastructural changes and functional alterations elicited by mercury bichloride, this author undertook an investigation by injecting albino rats with mercury bichloride as follows: Group 1 ; 2㎎ of mercury bichloride per ㎏. of body weight to 15 albino rats Group 11 ; 5㎎ of mercury bichloride per ㎏. of body weight to 15 albino rats Three rats were sacrificed at the time intervals of 3,6,12,24 and 48 hours after injection from both group 1 and 11, respectively, Then kidneys were studied for mercurial poisoning by both light and elecron microscope with the following results: 1. Under the light microscope, the renal tissue showed swelling, vacuolization, disappearance of brush border, necrotic changes of proximal convoluted tubles, with emphasis in its terminal portion. These changes first appeared 3 hours after injection of mercury bichloride with increasing tendency in severity for each subgroup as time passes culminating in the subgroup 48 hours after jnjection. These tubular changes were more prominent in the group 11 than in group 1. Urinary cast formation, appearance of regenerating cell and interstitial infiltration of mononuclear cells were noted in the subgroup, 12 hours after injection of mercury bichloride, with increment in intensity for each subgroup to the ultimate, 48 hours after injection. 2. Under the electron microscope, the nucleus showed degenerative changes characterized by irregularity of nuclear margin, increase and condensation of nuclear chromatin. The cytoplasm showed vacuolar degeneration and tubular necrosis charactrized by dilatation of rEr, shedding and decrease in the number of ribosome, atrophy of Golgi complex, atrophy and disruption of cristae of mitochondria. Also noted were increased number of lysosome, appearance of FCD, dilataton and occasional disappearance of basal intussuception, appearance of reabsorption droplets and vacuolar changes of the basement membrane. Above-mentioned changes were more prominent in the subgroup with long standing mercury action and in group 11, with higher dosage of mercury bichloride. It is therefore concluded that main changes were observed in the lysosome, mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum of the proximal convoluted tubules.

다양한 구조시스템간 반복하중에 대한 거동 성능을 비교하고자 에너지 개념을 확장하였다. 이로부터 에너지 흡수효율이 정의되었는데 이는 구조체의 누적에너지 흡수능력을 기준이 되는 탄성-완전소성시스템의 누적에너지 흠수량으로 나누어 무차원화한 것이다. 이를 위하여 반복하중실험으로부터 구한 실험결과들을 정리하여 에너지곡선의 형태로 표현하여야 한다. 제안된 방법을 이용하여 기하학적으로, 재료적으로 또한 구법이 서로 상이한 구조체간의 내진 성능에 대한 상대적이며 객관적인 비교가 가능해진다. 또한 이 방법의 가장 큰 장점 중의 하나는 구조물의 파괴형태와 관계없이 반복하중에 의한 힘-변위 관계만 주어지면 충분하다는 것이다. 제안된 방법을 두 시험체의 실험결과에 적용하여 그 타당성을 입증하여 보았다. The energy concept has been extended to compare the hysteretic performance between various structural systems. As a result, the energy absorption efficiency is defined as the cumulative energy absorption capacity of a structural system normalized by that of the elasto-perfectly plastic system as a benchmark for comparisons. For this, the construction of energy curves from the experimental results obtained by cyclic loading tests is required. Using the proposed procedure, structures differing from each other in geometry, material and construction can be relatively and objectively compared for seismic performance. Also the beauty of this method is in its irrelevance to the structural failure mode. The proposed procedure was validated by application to the experimental results of two different specimens.
소규모 제조업 사업장에서의 안전보건관리담당자 제도 실효성 검증

It was legislated in Korea that the small-sized enterprise with fewer than 50 employees should appoint at least one managing officer in order to improve safety and health of the employees since 2016. Study on the effectiveness of this legislation is hardly found, however. This study tried to evaluate effectiveness of the regulations for appointing the safety and health management officer in small-sized manufacturing companies and make suggestions to improve it. It was done by pairwise comparison between the level of safety and health achievement of 52 companies before and after the legislation. A scorecard system and questionnaires were devised for assessing the level of safety and health achievement and surveying awareness and practice of the regulation in the field. Results from quantitative and qualitative analyses performed in the study confirm that the safety and health achievement score has increased significantly after appointing the managing officer. It is also revealed that the lack of expertise and motivation of the appointed officer would yield pointless outcomes. Recommendations to make it better the effectiveness of the regulation are: to administrate requirements more strictly to be appointed as a safety and health management officer, to revise the curriculum to train the expertise of the appointed officers, and to expand financial support of the government to settle the safety and health management system.
