In this paper, we designed and fabricated LED navigation lights which can replace the existing ones immediately and overcome disadvantages due to use of conventional lamps. To decide the best arrangement and position of a LED module, optical systems of existing navigation lights were analyzed and refracted routes of rays were simulated. The electrical and optical characteristics of the fabricated LED navigation lights were measured and analyzed with a goniophotometer. To calculate ranges of visibility, the vertical and horizontal luminous intensity distributions were evaluated in accordance with the COLREGs (convention on the international regulation for preventing collisions at Sea). From the results, the proposed LED navigation lights showed suitable characteristics for marine environment with the power consumption reduced by 90% and the maximum luminous intensity increased by 20% compared to the existing navigation lights.
Short-Arc 램프용 전자식 안정기의 설계 및 제작

본 논문은 승압형 컨버터, 강압형 컨버터 및 저주파 인버터를 이용한 고휘도 Short-Arc 램프용 전자식 안정기의 설계 및 제작에 관하여 기술하였다. 제안한 안정기는 130 [Hz]의 구형 저주파를 램프에 인가함으로써 고압 방전 램프에서 발생할 수 있는 음향공명현상을 제거하였으며, 25 [kHz]의 고주파 전압을 중첩시켜 아크튜브의 전극에서 발생할 수 있는 열적 불균형을 해소하였다. 또한 전압 전류의 합을 이용한 정전력 제어를 수행하여, 주위 환경 및 램프의 노화에 따른 램프 전압의 변화에 대하여 안정한 점등상태를 유지하였다. 실험 결과로부터, 제작한 전자식 안정기의 램프 전압, 전류 및 전력은 각각 123.8 [V], 8.1 [A] 1,002 [W]로 측정되었다. This paper deals with an electronic ballast for hish intensity short-arc discharge lamps, which consists of a boost converter, a step down converter operated as a current source with power regulation and a low frequency inverter with external ignition circuit The ignition circuit generates high voltage pulses of 130[Hz] up to 5 [kV]. A reignition circuit is equipped in the ballast, and it operates the lamp at a regular interval for protection when an ignition fails. Acoustic resonance phenomenon was eliminated by operating a low frequency square wave voltage and current. The measured lamp voltage, current and consumption power were 123.8 [V], 8.1 [A] and 1,002 [W], respectively. From the experiment, we confirmed that the prototype ballast operates the lamp with a constant power.

This paper dealt with the detection algorithm of series arcing, which is a cause of electric fires in low-voltage wiring systems. To find the distinguished electrical features of series arc, we simulated series arcing by the arc generator specified in UL1699. An electric heater, an inverter-controlled vacuum cleaner, and a phase-controlled incandescent lamp were used as loads to generate series arcing. A high-pass filter (HPF) with the low cut-off frequency of 3 kHz at -3 dB was fabricated and applied to separate the series arc signal from the AC voltage source. The experiment showed that the high frequency signal generates randomly during series arcing, and the phase-controlled incandescent lamp produces high frequency pulses even in normal state. In this case, the magnitude, the width, and the randomness of high frequency signal should be analyzed to estimate series arcing precisely.

The purpose of this work is to find the mission theological implications necessary for the study and direction of the Korean church by researching the missional legacy left by J. Dudley Woodberry through his life and ministry of Muslim evangelism. This work introduces the core elements of Dudley Woodberry’s missiology for Islam Mission. His missiology for Islam mission was formed by evangelical faith, mission field experiences, and various distinguished scholars with academic tradition and continuity. Those influences provided concrete resources to Dudley. His missiology consisted of love, passion, peace, and respect to engage in meaningful encounters with Muslims. His missiology was based on the professional knowledge and understanding of Islam. Dudley Woodberry’s missiology for Islam consisted of four elements: the Muslim sources, the non-Muslim sources, the popular beliefs and practices of Islam, and the mission. The Islamic studies of Dudley Woodberry has opened a new horizon of Christian missiology for Islam mission in the 21st century.

This paper presents the design guide of LED luminaires to supplant fluorescent lamp (FL) luminaires for naval vessels. Several standards related to marine luminaires were considered and electrical, optical, and environmental requirements were analyzed. Based on the study results, we proposed a design concept of LED luminaires which can save power consumption by 43~51 [%] and can increase luminous flux up to 7~10 [%].

Recently Korea has imported and executed Performance Based Design for the method to settle the dangerousness on outbreak of fire of high-rise building. The overseas country``s PBD is autonomic but It is unable to carry out the essential role of PBD as the performance based design that based the code based design in the domestic. Also It occurs the problems that different the classification standard of building as dualisation between the building code and the fire services act. In this study, We have investigated overseas``s cases for the PBD of high-rise building and have drawn the improvement direction & the problem of domestic``s PBD by comparing and the analysing the domestic regulation.
