이완발진 현상을 이용하는 단공진기 색소레이저(QDL:quenched dye laser)는 극단펄스 광원으로서 많은 장점을 갖고 있다. 본 연구에서는 파장 590nm에서 발진 스펙트럼의 최대값을 갖는 Rhodamine 6G를 레이저 매질로 하고, 파장 308nm의 XeCl 레이저를 펌핑원으로 하여, 이득의 길이가 5mm인 QDL의 이완발진에 의한 극단펄스 발생특성을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의해 분석하였다. 분석결과, 펌핑광의 펄스폭에 대하여 QDL 출력빔은 1/100 이하로 그 펄스폭이 짧아짐을 밝혀 QDL 이 극단펄스 발생용으로 매우 유용한 레이저임을 밝혔으며, 펌핑광의 공간적 크기를 조절함에 의하여 출력 펄스폭의 연속적인 가변동작이 가능함을 제시하였다. Quenched dye laser (QDL), which operates with relaxation oscillation mode, is one of the most powerful source for ultra-short pulse light. In this paper, the output characteristics of QDL is theoretically analyzed by a computer simulation. The QDL is assumed that the laser dye is Rhodamine 6G which has the oscillation wavelength of 590 nrn and that the active length is 5 mm and that the pumping source is XeCllaser which has oscillation wavelength of 308 nm. It is revealed ilim the pulse width of short cavity dye laser reduced less than 1/100 than pumping pulse duration and has the linear relationship with spatial width of pumping beam approximately. In addition, it is revealed that the short cavity dye laser is a powerful candidate of pulse width variable light source, which is adjusted by spatial size of pumping beam_ beam_

Short cavity dye laser, which operates with quenched mode, is one of the most powerful source for ultra-short pulse light. In this paper, it is analyzed the output characteristics of relaxation oscillation short cavity dye laser by a computer simulation. It is revealed that the pulse width of short cavity dye laser reduced more than 100 times than pumping pulse duration and has the linear relationship with spatial width of pumping beam approximately. In addition, it is suggested that the short cavity dye laser is a powerful candidate of pulse width variable light source, which is adjusted by spatial width of pumping beam.

최근 청록색 레이저를 이용한 수중 통신 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본고에서는 수중통신에서 핵심적 역할을 하고 있는 해수의 광학적 특성을 흡수와 산란의 관점에서 기술하였고, 수중통신용 최신 청록색 레이저에 대해서 논하였다. The under water communication which use blue green lasers reviewed. In the view point of absorption and scattering, the optical characteristics of sea water are described. In addition, state of blue green lasers for under water communication are summarized.

A noble far-field modulation method to measure the nonlinear refractive index of optical materials has been developed. When an optical beam travels in a nonlinear material, it experiences a phase perturbation due to the nonlinear refractive effect. The resultant spatial modulation of optical beam can be obtained in the far-field by Fourier transform, from which the nonlinear refractive index is easily estimated.
소형 Q-switched Nd : YAG laser YAG 레이저

The miniature Q-switched Nd:YAG laser and the compact power supply for the LRF(Laser Range Finder) and other pumping source have been realized by using the saturable absorber BDN(bis-(4-dimethylaminodithiobenzil)-nickel) as the passively Q-switching device. The dimension of the laser head which consist of Nd:YAG rod, optical filter, flashlamp and optics is 100 × 20 × 12 mm. The pulse duration below 15ns(FWHM) and energy of 14mJ are observed with low repetition rates. This laser represents the source of LRF with long range and other pump source.
