심원(心遠) 송 복(宋 復)선생의 학문의 세계: 박문약례(博文約禮)로 이르는 길

심원 송 복(1938~ 현재) 선생은 정치사회학자로서 동서고금을 아우르는 통섭적인 학문의 세계를 펼쳐왔다. 현실에 대한 분석을 토대로 지행합일의 정신을 수행해온 그의 학문의 길을 한마디로 박문약례(博文約禮)로 축약해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 박문약례란 널리 학문을 배우고 익히되 대의와 본질을 꿰뚫어 본 후, 이를 예(禮)로서 실천하라는 뜻이다. 심원 송 복 선생은 조직과 권력, 불평등과 계층, 사회이동과 갈등, 리더십과 도덕성, 국가와 역사의 정체성 문제 등 핵심적인 주제들을 두루 살펴왔다. 그는 이주제들의 맥락과 요점을 명증(明證)한 뒤 세상의 변화를 이끄는 지식인의 역할에 솔선수범하였던 것이다. ‘박문약례’에 이르는 길을 심원 선생은 인문학의 내용과 방법을 통해 실현하고자 했고, 그 기본소양을 동양적 가치에서 찾으려 했다. 오늘날 사회과학이 상상력과 창의력, 이야기 구성의 역량을 잃어가고 있는 이유는 인문학의 토대가 빈곤하기 때문이다. 감성과 안목, 사유의 역량을 키워주는 인문학의 기초를 쌓기 위해 심원이 찾아간 곳은 ‘동양적 가치’였다. 그는 고문진보(古文眞寶)속에 들어있는 의미들을 재해석하여 우리 사회에 닥쳐온 인문학의 빈곤을 극복해 보려 했다. 심원은 지식인의 표상으로 수기(修己)와 속탈(俗脫), 화이부동(和而不同)의 선비론을 제시하면서, ‘특혜’를 얻었을 뿐 특혜에 상응하는 도덕과 책임윤리를 갖지 못한 한국사회의 상층리더들을 통렬히 비판했다. 심원 송 복 선생이 학문의 초입에서 주목한 지점은 한 사회의 동력이며 갈등의 원천이 되기도 하고 이를 풀어내기도 하는 권력의 문제였다. 이어 심원은 한국사회의 시공간 압축성장 기간동안 빈번했던 사회이동을 렌즈로 한국사회의 다양한 갈등을 진단하면서 그 갈등을 목표와 수단의 시간지체로 인해 발생하는 비리형 속성을 갖는 것으로 규정했다. 그러나 그는 산업화된 다원사회에서 갈등은 필연적으로 발생하기 때문에 갈등 그 자체를 문제삼을 것이 아니라 갈등을 어떻게 제도화할 것인가에 관심을 두어야 한다고 주장한다. 심원 선생의 학문과 세계관은 ‘현실을 넘어선 현실론’으로 묘사해 볼 수 있다. 한국의 대부분 학자들이 서구의 학문 틀과 개념에 의존해서 현실을 파악하고 대안을 말하려 할 때, 그는 발로 뛰고 가슴으로 느꼈던 체험과 직관을 통해 한국 사회를 예리하게 분석했고, 그 대안 역시 현실에 기반했다. 그러나 현실에 발을 디디며 미래지향의 개혁을 주장하는 심원의 ‘열린사회와 보수’의 정신은 여전히 미완의 과제로 남아있다. This article examines the academic journey and meaning of SimWon, Song Bok (宋復, 1938~ ), forecasting the future tasks. SimWon, as a political sociologist, has walked the world of consilient learning that encompasses all times and places. His academic path, which has been carrying out the academic practice of unifying knowledge and practice, can be summarized as ‘Bakmun Yakrye (博文約禮)’. Parkmunyakrye means to study and learn, by capturing and epitomizing the essence, and finally practice it as a moral principle. Beginning with the problem of organizational power, Song Bok has covered key themes such as inequality and class, conflict, leadership and morality, and national-historical identity issues. After penetrating and clarifying the context and points of these areas, he took the role of an intellectual changing the world. SimWon has insisted that it is because today's social sciences, suffering from 'poverty of philosophy' and by doing so losing their imagination, creativity, and storytelling capacity, lack the foundation of humanities to develop sensibility, discernment, and speculative ability. He tried to find the basic knowledge of humanities in oriental values. He has attempted to overcome the poverty of the humanities facing our society today by reinterpreting the meanings contained in various ancient texts. As a political sociologist, SimWon Song Bok has paid attentions to the issues of power and inequality which are the driving force of a society and the source of conflict. SimWon then diagnosed various conflicts in Korean society through the lens of social mobility, which frequently occurred during the compressed growth of space and time in Korean society. He defined conflicts in Korean society as having corruption-type properties caused by ‘time delay’ between goals and means. However, he argues that since conflicts inevitably occur in an industrialized pluralistic society, we should pay attention to how to institutionalize conflicts, rather than taking the issue with conflicts themselves. ShimWon's academic and world view can be described as 'theory of reality beyond real world'. While most scholars in Korea rely on Western academic frameworks and concepts for understanding reality and talking about alternatives, he sharply analyzed Korean society through the experiences and intuitions he felt with his ‘feet and heart’. He has shown the alternatives based on reality as well. However, Song Bok’s spirit of 'open society and the conservative', which insists on future-oriented reform while stepping into reality, remains an unfinished task.

기업구조조정에 대한 인식과 '생존자'의 직무태도

이 글은 지난 경제위기 이후 한국사회의 주요 담론으로 부상하고 있는 기업구조조정에 대한 단면적 연구이다. 즉, 정리해고에 의한 기업구조조정이 생존자들의 직무태도에 어떠한 영향를 주고 있는지를 통계적 검증을 통해 알아보고, 몇 가지 함의를 던지고 있다. 기존의 논의가 주로 구조조정에 대한 거시적 차원의 정치경제적 변화에 치중하고 있는 반면 이 글은 미시적 차원에서 조직성원들의 심리적 충격 등을 조사하고 있다. 또한 기존의 연구들이 구조조정으로부터 해고당한 실직자들의 생활에 초점을 두고 있는 반면 이 글은 기업구조조정으로부터 살아남은 생존자들의 반응에 주목하고 있다. 기업구조조정 이후 가장 큰 관심은 고용불안정이며, 이러한 고용불안정은 생존자들의 직무태도에 부정적 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 한편 구조조정의 공정성 인식(보상과 절차의 정당성) 역시 직무태도에 영향을 주고 있다. 본 연구의 결과가 암시하는 점은 구조조정이 생존자들의 삶의 질에 부정적 영향을 미치는 결과를 얻는다면 정리해고에 의한 기업구조조정이 장기적으로 보았을 때 조직의 생산성을 높일 것인가에 대한 회의와 함께 구조조정의 당위성에 대한 인식의 전환이 요구된다는 것이다. 만약 구조조정의 필연성이 도래했을 경우 정리해고에 의한 구조조정은 조직 성원들의 합의에 기초한, 보다 신중한 과정을 거쳐 이루어져야 하며, 부정적 결과들을 상쇄할 다양한 사회적 장치가 요구된다. In this paper, we have dealt with the lay-off survivor's job attitude; how the perception on job security influence job attitude i.e. job satisfaction, job commitment, and conflict among organization members. After economic crisis in 1997, the discourses about restructuring based on layoff have flourished in not only academia world but also in political decision -making fields. While the majority of previous works on layoff have paid attention to the restructuring process in terms of macro -level such as reshape of political economic structure, relational change among labor union-company-government(no-sa-jeong), flexibility of labor market. etc., the study at micro level like socio-psychological impact of layoff on survivor has been hardly found. The results of this study indicate that the perception on job security and the fairness of layoff procedure have greatly influenced the job attitude. In the light of this result, we urge the shift of pre-exiting paradigm which layoff is inevitable for promoting the organizational efficiency by reducing the labor cost.

언어, 감정, 집합행동: 탄핵반대 ‘태극기’ 집회의 사례를 중심으로

감정은 집합행동을 촉발하고 강화하며, 지속시키는 에너지이다. 집합행동이 전개되는 과정에서 특정한 집단의 세계관과 실천양식을 규정하는 ‘감정프레임’은 언어에 의해 구성된다. 언어 진술체로서의 담론, 개념, 음운, 의미, 소리와 톤, 나아가 몸짓을 포함하는 언어는 감정을 표현하기도 하고, 감정을 구성해 내기도 한다. 언어와 감정, 집합행동이 불가분의 삼각 축을 형성하고 있는 것이다. 이 글에서 필자는 지난 가을부터 시작되었던 박근혜 대통령 탄핵 반대 운동, 소위 대한문 앞에서 진행된 태극기 집회의 감정동학에 주목하고 있다. 탄핵을 주도했던 광화문의 촛불 집회에 맞대응한 태극기 집회는 단순히 관변단체에 의해 동원된 노인층들만이 아니라 점차 다양한 층들이 자발적으로 참여하면서 한 때 광화문 촛불집회 못지않은 열기를 보여주었다. 이들 참가자는 자신을 애국시민으로 호명하고, 자유대한민국의 수호와 종북좌파 척결이라는 구호를 내걸면서, 군가를 열창하고, 태극기와 대형 성조기 등을 휘날리며 탄핵반대를 외쳤다. 집회참가들을 관통하는 감정은 두려움과 분노, 그리고 자신들에 대한 자긍심과 ‘군중의 기쁨’ 등 매우 복합적이었다. 이 글을 통해 필자는 소통을 통한 민주주의의 가능성과 한계 및 과제를 던져보고 있다. This article is an exploratory discussion on the relationship between language, emotion, and collective action. Emotion is an essential energy that triggers, strengthens and sustains social movements(collective action). In this process, language plays a key role in creating and expanding the ‘emotional frame’ defining a particular group of world view and practice style. Language, emotion, and collective action form an indivisible triangular axis. This article has paid an attention to the anti-impeachment movement of Park, Geun-hye, the 18th president in Republic of Korea, so called ‘Taegukgi protest’. Participants in ‘Taegukgi protest’ called themselves as ‘patriotic citizens’. They sang the military songs with the slogan of defeating the leftists of the North, aiming to defend the Republic of Korea, claiming against the impeachment, waving Taegeukgi(national flag of Korea) and the national flag of USA. Emotions such as fear, anger, self-esteem, and ‘joy of the crowd’ etc. were complicatedly intermingled and interpenetrated in this protest.
