A head-end process, which is a preceding step in the process of recycling nuclear fuel, is being developed. The unit processes for pretreatment of spent fuel that are expected to cause hold-up include cutting, slitting, oxidation, mixing, molding, removal of fine powder, reduction, and high-temperature heat treatment. The pattern of hold-up in each process depends on the type of nuclear material handled in the process and the process operation method, so it is necessary to consider this when estimating the amount of hold-up. Since there are a total of 8 unit processes in head-end, there are a total of 7 linked processes indicating between the unit processes. In order to evaluate the hold-up of the linked processes, an analysis of the nuclear material transfer path between the unit processes must be preceded. For this purpose, based on the research conducted through the existing preliminary conceptual design, the nuclear material transport routet between unit processes were analyzed.
