악골내 거대 낭종 병소의 조대술 후 적출술의 시행 여부 및 적출 시기의 평가

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine whether cyst enucleation would be done after marsupialization of large cystic lesion on the jaws or not, and if so, when it should be done. Patients & Methods: 12 patients with cystic lesion treated by marsupialization only and 10 patients with cystic lesion treated by marsupialization followed by enucleation were examined in this study. Postoperative clinical and radiographic examinations were performed at 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19 months on 22 patients. Bone regeneration and reduction rate of the residual cystic cavities and bone density were evaluated with a analysis of digital panoramic radiographs. Also histological evaluation of the healing process was performed on 1 patient. Results: Uneventful healing and spontaneous bony filling of the residual cavities were observed in all cases. Postoperative radiographs showed that the size of the lesions was reduced for a few months, but the reduction rate of the residual cavity was minimized for 13~16 months after marsupialization. The bone density was increased 22.5 % after 19 months. Conclusion: This results suggest that the appropriate timing to perform enucleation would be 13~16 months after marsupialization. The state of healing process could be confirmed by histological examination and radiographic evaluation of bone density. Enucleation after marsupialization could be applied appropriately to reduce the periods of bone healing in large cystic lesion on the jaws.

The purpose of this study has been to provide the meaningful results of analyzing 154 marathoners(100 male athletes from 66 countries and 54 female runners from 36 countries) who participated in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. The results are as follows; 1.The improvement of speed endurance is the most important factor in marathon races because recent marathon results are getting shorten in major international marathon races and Olympic Games. 2.The long-term and systematic training programs are required for early selection and training of potential young athletes. 3.Scientific facilities and expert's cooperation are necessary for systematic training and running strategies. 4.Increase of participation in many major international meets enables runners to overcome psychological anxieties and to control their races. 5.Preparation regarding the race should be made, such as environment, weather condition, marathon course, jetlag and adjustment of physi condition. Expert's cooperation is necessary.
흰쥐의 유영훈련이 골격근의 αㆍβ-MHC ·mRNA 농도에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes of α·β-MHC·mRNA concentration in the skeletal muscles of rats after a 12-week swimming training. The 35 subjects, three weeks old Sprague-Dawley rats, were divided into five groups. The control group (n=7) lead a sedentary life during the whole training period, The rest of the four exercise groups had swimming training for 30, 60, 90, and minutes a day (five times a week), respectively. The gastrocnemius muscles were taken from the subjects, and α·β-MHC·mRNA was analysed by the northern blot method. The mean values and standard deviation were calculated and tested by Multiple ANOVA. The level of significance was set at the probability value of 0.05. In the gastrocnemius muscle, the concentration significantly (p<.01) increased, compared with the control group. The followings summarize the results : 1. The concentration of α·β-MHC ·mRNA increased in gastrocnemius muscles by way of endurance training. 2. The exercise duration effect may have existed in the concentration of α·β-MHC ·mRNA in the gastrocnemius muscles. As a result, the longer the duration of swimming training is, the more increased the concentration rate of α·β-MHC ·mRNA and synthesis protein leading to muscular hypertrophy. this study suggests that the application of swimming training to Marathon may be helpful in the performance improvement of Marathon.
