This study looks into how food-related lifestyle affects a regenerative architecture restaurant in terms of satisfaction, brand image and revisit intentions based on data from consumers having visited the regenerative architecture restaurant. The data were analyzed with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 21.0. Findings from the study show that food-related lifestyle has a significant impact on satisfaction with the regenerative architecture restaurant in the order of taste-, health- and design-driven type. Second, the same result was found regarding the brand image of the restaurant. Third, satisfaction with the regenerative architecture restaurant significantly affects revisit intention. Finally, the brand image of the regenerative architecture restaurant has a significant impact on revisit intention of consumers. The study indicates that research and investment to develop differentiating taste of food menu is critical in building a strategy to operate a regenerative architecture restaurant. The practical significance of that would be that it offers some guidelines to build a strategy for regenerative architecture restaurants on the rise and also provides helpful information and implications for future restaurant operation.

Acanthopanax Koreanum stem (AK) has been used in Korea as a tonic and sedative as well as a drug with ginseng like activities. The purpose of our present study was to investigate the effects of AK extract (AKE) and Eleutheroside E, major component of AKE on an exacerbated immune function through utilization of protein-energy malnutrition (PEM) diet by using forced swimming test (FST). The immobility time were significantly decreased in the AKE or Eleutheroside E-administrated group compared with the control group on the FST (P < 0.05). The level of blood parameters were not changed significantly. PEM-induced weight loss of mice was reduced by oral administration of 500 mg/kg AKE. AKE oral administration improved the nutritional status such as the food efficiency ratio and the adrenal gland weight. AKE treatment significantly increased the production of interferon (IFN)-γ compared with unstimulated splenocytes but not interleukin (IL)-4. Eleutheroside E also significantly increased the IFN-γ production but not IL-2 and IL-4 in T cell line, MOLT-4 cells. These results suggest that AKE and Eleutheroside E may influence to immune-enhancing through increasing the physical endurance capacity and immune cell activation.

Countries across the world regard innovations in science and technology as a crucial means of pursuing shared prosperity in the economy, society, and environment, and cooperate actively with each other to achieve such innovations. Korea needs to join in this trend by implementing international cooperation policies aimed strategically at contributing to the global community and ensuring efficient allocation of R&D resources. With a focus on international cooperation in the field of healthcare R&D and based on literature review, case studies, this study attempted to suggest measures to improve the performance of healthcare R&D in Korea. We conducted a systematic review of the existing literature on international cooperation and R&D performance to prepare a theoretical framework for the promotion of international cooperation that can improve healthcare R&D performance. Based on the literature review, the findings on investment in and policies for international cooperation as part of healthcare R&D programs across the world can be summarized as follows; First, although major ministries of the government have developed international cooperation projects, only few of the projects are dedicated to healthcare R&D. Furthermore, the current projects are limited to only specific healthcare subsectors and technologies. Second, notable partners for international cooperation are developed countries such as the United States that dominate the healthcare technology field. Investment has been focused on collaborative research to achieve multilateral cooperation by building infrastructure, which can promote systematic network building and collaborative research. Third, among participants in international cooperation projects, researchers mentioned that they faced the following difficulties in conducting international joint research projects; environmental issues, issues with provision and management of research grants, and issues with network building.

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to investigate theeffects of Lycium chinense Miller fruit and itsrepresentative constituent betaine on reduction ofimmobility time and blood parameters in balb/c mice. METHODS AND RESULTS: We investigated theimmobility time and the changes in aspects of bloodbiochemical parameters by the administration of L. chinense Miller fruit and its representative constituentbetaine, after the forced swimming test. The immobilitytime was significantly reduced about 41.3% and 53.6%,respectively, in the animal of L. chinense Miller fruit and itsrepresentative constituent betaine-administrated group for7 days, in comparison with that of the control group. Thelevel of blood urea nitrogen was significantly decreased inL. chinense Miller fruit and its representative constituentbetaine-treated group compared with the control group (P <0.05), respectively. In addition, the interlukin-2 levels ofmice in L. chinense Miller fruit and betaine treated groupwas increased compared with the control group. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that L. chinenseMiller fruit and betaine might be helpful in the immunefunction improvement, enhance physical stamina, andfatigue recovery.
