Recently, excavation of ancient pottery kiln of Koryo celadon of the Koryo dynasty have been continued since 1979 in Hang-dong, Daegu-myun, Gangjin-gun, Jeonnam Province, south-western part of Korea. The authers carried out an archeomagnetic study using the baked earth of the floors of the kiln, togimi and fabrics of rocks which were placed firmly on the floors of the kiln. These specimens were measured using the astatic magnetometer. The results of measurements are: declination, $0.3^{\circ}W$; inclination, $52.9^{\circ}C$. Referring to the secular change curves drawn from the studies of the south-western Japan, the last period when the pottery kiln was fired finally is estimated to be around A.D. 1170. Many potsherds of Koryo celadon were excavated around the kiln. According to the shape of these potsherds, the age of the pottery kiln is estimated to be 10-12 C, which is consisted with this study.
성견과 유견에 있어서 정중구개 봉합선의 급속확장에 따른 상악골 인접 봉합선부위의 육안적 비교 관찰에 과한 연구

The author has observed the gross reactions of surrounding maxillary sutures to the widening of midpalatal suture in comparison of young dog with adult dog. Experimental animals used was two young dog and two adult dog with normal palate. After midpalatal suture was seperated with rapid palatal expansion device, experimental animals were sacrificed to observe the surrounding maxillary sutures. The following results were obtained. 1. In adule dog, nasoincisive suture was not expanded, while in young dog it was espanded. 2. In adult dog, pterygopalatine suture was hardly espanded, while in young dog it was expanded unilaterally. 3. In adult dog, frontomaxillary suture was not expanded, while in young dog it was expanded unilaterally. 4. In adult dog, palatoethmoidal suture was not expanded, while in young dog it was expanded unilaterally.

This paper presents ion-based micro vibration sensor for the ultra-high frequency vibration detection. Presented sensor uses the motion of anion and cation in an electrolyte. Electrolyte vibration sensors have the high shock survival characteristics and a simple read-out circuit because of the small mass and own charges of ions. Presented sensor measures the induced electric potential by the mechanical-electrical coupling. It consist of electrolyte chamber and detection electrode. Electrolyte chamber was fabricated by PDMS molding. Detection electrode was made of gold evaporation on pyrex glass. Size of electrolyte chamber was designed as 600×600×100㎛. Detection electrode had 200㎚-thick and 42㎛-gap. In the experimental study, 5.8M sodium Chloride (NaCl) solution was used as electrolyte in 36nl-chamber. Mechanical vibration was measured from 2kHz to 4㎒.
튜브형 고분자전해질 연료전지와 일회용 수소발생소자를 결합한 미세유체소자용 전원공급소자

본 연구에서는 미세유체소자의 전원소자로 적용하기 위한 일회용 수소발생소자와 튜브형 고분자전해질 연료전지로 구성된 일회용 전원소자에 관한 것이다. 튜브형 고분자전해질 연료전지는 1.52 ㎜의 직경을 가지며, 수소발생소자는 알루미늄과 5M 수산화나트륨의 반응을 통해 수소를 발생시켜 튜브형 고분자전해질 연료전지로 공급하게 된다. 단위 튜브형 고분자전해질 연료전지는 순수한 수소에 대해여 0.81V 의 개방전압과 0.35V 에서 16.4 ㎽/㎠의 최대전력밀도를 나타내었으며, 수소발생기는 15 분 동안 11.6 ㎖의 수소를 생성하였다. 튜브형 고분자전해질 연료전지와 수소발생기가 결합된 일회용 전원소자는 아무런 주변장치 없이 10 분 동안 1.06 ㎽ (0.46V)의 일정한 전력을 발생하였으며, 3 개가 직렬로 연결된 고분자전해질 연료전지는 10 분 동안 LED(2.5 ㎽@1.8V)를 동작시켰다. This paper presents a disposable power generator for microfluidic devices; the power generator has a tubular PEMFC and a H₂ generator. The tubular PEMFC has a tubular MEA (diameter: 1.52 ㎜) that is supported by a spiral wire electrode. The H₂ generator supplied H₂ to the tubular PEMFC; H₂ was generated via the reaction of Al foil (27 ㎎) and 5 M NaOH (0.12 ㎖). The open circuit voltage and power density of a unit cell of the tubular PEMFC were 0.81 V and 16.4 ㎽/㎠ (0.35 V), respectively. The H₂ generator generated 11.6 ml H₂ for 15min. The power generator was continuously operated for 15 min at 0.64 ㎽ (0.71 V) and for 10 min at 1.06 ㎽ (0.46 V). We experimentally verified that it is feasible to use the proposed power generator as a power source for microfluidic devices; in the experiment, an LED (2.5 ㎽; 1.8 V) was lit for 10 min by using three serially connected TPEMFCs and one H₂ generator.

Two ellagitannins, pedunculagin and 2,3-(S)-Hexahydroxydiphenoyl (HHDP)-D-glucose and three condensed tannins, (+)-catechin, (-)-epicatechin and procyanidin B-4 which were isolated from Rubus coreanum were evaluated for their antioxidative effects with 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and lipid peroxidation generation system mediated by addition of H202 to rat liver homogenate (TBARS). The ellagitannins, 2,3-(S)-HHDP-D-glucose and pedunculagin, showed more potent antioxidative activities by DPPH and TBARS than condensed tannins.
