상관관계 기반 특징 선별 기법을 사용한 걸음걸이 기반 성별 분류

Gender classification techniques have received a lot of attention from researchers because they can be used in various fields such as forensics, surveillance systems, and demographic studies. As previous studies have shown that there are distinctive features between male and female gait, various techniques have been proposed to classify gender from three dimensional(3-D) gait data. However, some of the gait features extracted from 3-D gait data using existing techniques are similar or redundant to each other or do not help in gender classification. In this study, we propose a method to select features that are useful for gender classification using a correlation-based feature selection technique. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed feature selection technique, we compare the performance of gender classification models before and after applying the proposed feature selection technique using a 3-D gait dataset available on the Internet. Eight machine learning algorithms applicable to binary classification problems were utilized in the experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed feature selection technique can reduce the number of features by 22, from 82 to 60, while maintaining the gender classification performance.
걸음걸이 데이터에서 분노 검출을 위한 다중 시간 윈도 특징 추출 기술

본 논문에서는 보행자의 걸음걸이로부터 분노 감정 검출을 위한 다중 시간 윈도 특징 추출 기술을 제안한다. 기존의 걸음걸이 기반 감정인식 기술에서는 보행자의 보폭, 한 보폭에 걸리는 시간, 보행 속력, 목과 흉부의 전방 기울기 각도(Forward Tilt Angle)를 계산하고, 전체 구간에 대해서 최솟값, 평균값, 최댓값을 계산해서 이를 특징으로 활용하였다. 하지만 이때 각 특징은 보행 전체 구간에 걸쳐 항상 균일하게 변화가 발생하는 것이 아니라, 때로는 지역적으로 변화가 발생한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 장기부터 중기 그리고 단기까지 즉, 전역적인 특징과 지역적인 특징을 모두 추출할 수 있는 다중 시간 윈도 특징 추출(Multi-Time Window Feature Extraction) 기술을 제안한다. 또한, 제안하는 특징 추출 기술을 통해 각 구간에서 추출된 특징들을 효과적으로 학습할 수 있는 앙상블 모델을 제안한다. 제안하는 앙상블 모델(Ensemble Model)은 복수의 분류기로 구성되며, 각 분류기는 서로 다른 다중 시간 윈도에서 추출된 특징으로 학습된다. 제안하는 특징 추출 기술과 앙상블 모델의 효과를 검증하기 위해 일반인에게 공개된 3차원 걸음걸이 데이터 세트를 사용하여 시험 평가를 수행했다. 그 결과, 4가지 성능 평가지표에 대해서 제안하는 앙상블 모델이 기존의 특징 추출 기술로 학습된 머신러닝(Machine Learning) 모델들과 비교하여 최고의 성능을 달성하는 것을 입증하였다. In this paper, we propose a technique of multi-time window feature extraction for anger detection in gait data. In the previous gait-based emotion recognition methods, the pedestrians stride, time taken for one stride, walking speed, and forward tilt angles of the neck and thorax are calculated. Then, minimum, mean, and maximum values are calculated for the entire interval to use them as features. However, each feature does not always change uniformly over the entire interval but sometimes changes locally. Therefore, we propose a multi-time window feature extraction technique that can extract both global and local features, from long-term to short-term. In addition, we also propose an ensemble model that consists of multiple classifiers. Each classifier is trained with features extracted from different multi-time windows. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed feature extraction technique and ensemble model, a public three-dimensional gait dataset was used. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed ensemble model achieves the best performance compared to machine learning models trained with existing feature extraction techniques for four performance evaluation metrics.

Energy saving of battery in mobile station (MS) operating with battery is an essential problem to solve in order to support efficient mobile communication services. In IEEE 802.16e standard, Types I, II, and III sleep modes have been standardized for efficient energy saving of MSs for real-time, non-real-time, and multicast services. However Types I, II, III sleep modes have a drawback, where the efficiency of energy saving decreases as the number of sessions increases. In this paper, we propose an improved energy saving scheme which reduces energy consumption, by defining efficient sleep and listening windows, when an MS uses multiple Types I and II service sessions. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has an improved energy saving than conventional schemes.
사료 내 식물추출물 복합제(Coxynil<SUP>®</SUP>, Growell<SUP>®</SUP>, Respowell<SUP>®</SUP>) 첨가가 육계의 성장에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 육계 사료에 식물추출물(Coxynil<SUP>®</SUP>, Growell<SUP>®</SUP> 그리고 Respowell<SUP>®</SUP>)의 첨가가 육계의 성장, 혈액 성상 그리고 조직 내 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 또한 항생제 대체효과가 가능한가를 알아보기 위하여 수행되었다. 총 40,000수의 Ross 종 수평아리를 공시하여 34일 동안 사양실험을 실시하였으며, 대조군(CON)으로 salinomycin-6, clopidol-25, enramycin-1 그리고 BMD-2.5를 포함하는 항생제 첨가사료를 20,000수에게 급여하였으며, 식물추출물 급여군(NP)은 항생 제대체제로 Growell India사에서 판매되는 Coxynil<SUP>®</SUP>, Growell<SUP>®</SUP> 그리고 Respowell<SUP>®</SUP>을 각각 0.03%, 0.035% 그리고 0.03%씩 첨가하여 20,000수에게 급여하였다. 종료시 체중, 증체량 그리고 사료섭취량에 있어서 CON과 NP간의 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았으나 NP군의 사료섭취량이 다소 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 한편 시험기간 동안 CON군은 총 1,693 수가 폐사하였으나 NP 군은 1,008수가 폐사하여 식물추출물의 급여가 육계를 보다 건강하게 생육시키는 긍정적인 결과를 보였다. 항체 생성 반응에 있어서는 NP군이 CON군에 비하여 낮은 IBDV와 NDV 항체역가를 나타내었다. 혈액 중 total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, globulin 및 IgG 함량에서도 NP군과 CON군 간의 유의적인 차이는 발견되지 않았다. 실험 종료후, 각 장기의 조직을 적출한 후에 조직 상태를 조사한 결과 CON군과 NP군 간의 큰 차이점이 발견되지 않았다. Salinomycin-6, clopidol-25, enramycin-1 및 BMD-2.5 등의 항생제를 각각 Cinnamomum camphora, Zingiber officinale 그리고 Operculina turpethum을 주성분으로하는 Coxynil<SUP>®</SUP>, Growell<SUP>®</SUP> 및 Respowell<SUP>®</SUP>으로 대체하여 육계 사양실험을 실시한 결과, 상호간에 큰 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 본 연구 결과를 통하여, 상기 3종류의 식물 추출물들의 복합첨가는 육계 사양시 항생제를 대체할 수 있는 것으로 사료된다. This study was carried out to evaluate the supplementation effect of dietary natural plant extracts (NP: Coxynil<SUP>®</SUP>, Growell<SUP>®</SUP> and Respowell<SUP>®</SUP>) on broiler chickens. Forty thousand male broilers with 7 days adaptation after hatching were fed experiment diets for 34 days. The supplementation effects of NP on growth performance, blood parameters and biopsy were examined with twenty thousand broilers as the treatment group. Twenty thousand broilers for the control group (CON) were fed the diet with salinomycin-6, clopidol-25, enramycin-1, and BMD-2.5. In the diet of the treatment group, the antibiotics were replaced with 0.03%, 0.035% and 0.03% of Coxynil<SUP>®</SUP>, Growell<SUP>®</SUP> and Respowell<SUP>®</SUP>, respectively. The weight gain of the treatment group was increased but the feed intake was decreased, indicating that feed efficiency was increased compared to the CON. The mortality of the NP group was also lower compared to the CON group (1,008 birds to 1,693 birds), showing positive dietary effects from natural plant extracts. In the activity of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) and new cattle disease virus (NDV) antibodies, the NP showed lower antibody titer levels for both of IBDV and NDV compared to the CON. The levels of total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, globulin, and IgG in blood did not show significant differences between the groups. In the microscopic tissue analysis, no significant differences were detected. These results may suggest that a complex of three natural plant extracts can be used as alternative antibiotics in broilers.

Advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with portal vein thrombosis is not suitable candidates for surgical treatment at the most of diagnosis because of poor liver function, extensive tumor involvement of the liver, vascular involvement, and/or intra/extrahepatic metastasis. We attempted localized concurrent chemo-radiation therapy (CCRT) in patients having locally advanced HCC with left and main portal vein thrombosis. We report a case of locally advanced HCC patient who became surgically resectable by downstaging after localized CCRT. Localized CCRT was performed with a total radiation dose of 5,040 cGy (180 cGy×28 times) and hepatic arterial infusion of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU, 250 mg/day) and cisplatin (10 mg/day) for 5 days via implantable port system during the second and the fifth weeks of the radiotherapy. Marked contraction of HCC was noted on follow up computerized tomography (CT) after localized CCRT, and subsequently surgical resection with curative aim was performed. He was gave a additional transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) because follow up CT revealed intrahepatic metastasis at subcapsular portion of right hepatic lobe after 3 months of operation. The patient is in complete remission status without recurrence to date.

Giant keratoacanthoma is an uncommon variant of keratoacanthoma, which may increase to a diameter of several centimeters. Although keratoacanthomas usually resolve spontaneously, giant keratoacanthoma can be invasive and destructive. A 49-year-old man presented with a 5-year history of multiple large hyperkeratotic and crusted plaques and nodules on sun-exposed areas such as the face, ear, hand, and forearm. Some lesions involuted spontaneously, whereas others became rather enlarged. The biopsy specimen revealed horn-filled crater formation, epidermal extending resembling a buttress, and an eosinophilic glassy appearance in the keratinocytic cytoplasm. We treated the lesions with acitretin, and they almost completely resolved after 13 weeks. Here we describe a case of multiple giant keratoacanthoma treated with acitretin.
