통일사상의 가정주의에 관한 연구

이 글에서는 유교에 기반 한 한국의 가족주의의 의미와 현실적 전개, 이에 대한 비판을 자세히 논의하고 이를 토대로 통일사상의 가정주의(家庭主義)를 체계화하는 데 요구되는 학문적 과제에 대해 전망하고자 한다. 통일사상은 하나님의 창조목적이 부모, 부부, 형제자매, 자녀로 구성된 이상적인 가정의 4대 사랑을 통해 구현된다고 이해하고 있다. 또한 가정윤리를 공동체 윤리의 근간으로 삼으며 가족적 사랑의 규 범을 사회의 영역으로 확장할 때 이상적인 정치 공동체가 실현될 수 있다고 본다. 이렇듯 통일사상은 가정의 가치를 강조하고, 가족 내에서의 윤리를 사회, 국가적 차 원으로 확대하고자 한다는 점에서 유교의 가족주의와 유사한 측면을 지닌다. 따라서 유교에 기반 한 한국의 가족주의에 대해 자세히 고찰하는 작업은 통일사상의 가정 주의를 정립해 나가는데 있어서 요구되는 현실적 과제들을 진단하고 성찰해 볼 수 있다는 점에서 가치가 있다고 판단된다. This paper examines the meaning of Confucian-based familialism in Korea, how it has been practiced, and the criticism it has received. Using this analysis, the paper seeks to outline the academic tasks necessary to systematize Unification Thought's familialism. In Unification Thought, God's purpose for creation is realized through the four great loves of an ideal family which includes parents, couples, siblings, and children. Furthermore, Unification Thought considers that family ethics serve as the foundation for community ethics and sees an ideal political community can be formed when the norms of family love are extended to society. In this regard, Unification Thought shares aspects with Confucian familialism in its emphasis on family values and view of extended familialism. It will therefore be relevant to examine Confucian-based familialism in Korea in depth, as it will enable us to consider the practical tasks required to establish Unification Thought's familialism.

환경위기와 생태평화사상 : 통일사상의 만물이해를 중심으로

탐욕적 자본주의와 인간중심주의가 초래한 지구생태계 파괴는 코로나19 팬데믹으로 돌아 와 우리의 평화롭던 일상을 빠르게 무너뜨렸다. 눈에 보이지 않는 바이러스가 변이를 거쳐 인 류를 위협하는 글로벌 보건위기의 이면에는 생태계 파괴라는 어두운 지구적 현실이 자리하고 있다. 이에 따라 인간과 자연이 평화롭게 공존, 연대하는 지구공동체의 실현이 ‘뉴노멀’로 제시 되어야 한다는 주장도 강하게 제기되고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 논문은 오늘날의 환경 위기 를 극복하기 위한 하나의 대안이념으로 통일사상의 생태평화사상인 만물주관론에 주목하였 다. 이를 통해 이성성상의 세계관과 심정의 세계관을 바탕으로 자연만물이 가지는 본래적 가치 를 논의하고 이에 기초하여 만물의 참된 주관주로 자신의 정체성을 재구성하는 새로운 생태적 인간주의를 제안하였다. Capitalism’s greed and anthropocentrism have caused the destruction of global ecosystems, resulting in the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted our peaceful lives. There is an undeniable, bleak reality behind the global health crisis sweeping our planet as an invisible virus mutates and threatens mankind: environmental destruction. Accordingly, there have been strong arguments that the realization of a global community where humans and nature co-exist in peace and harmony should be presented as a ‘new normal.’ As an alternative perspective for overcoming today’s environmental crisis, this research paper studied the idea of “dominion over all things,” a peace theory on ecology suggested by the Unification thought. The paper examines and discusses the original value nature possesses from a world view of dual characteristics and the deep heart, and presents a new ecological human view that reconstructs man as the true ruler of all things.

평화실현을 위한 종교의 평등사상 연구:통일사상의 ‘사랑의 평등’을 중심으로

This paper aims to examine the increasing inequality caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and to investigate the equality ideology of love proposed by the Unification Thought as the basis of social ethics that can improve it. The Unification Thought maintains the theory of equality of love that all human beings are equally valuable, regardless of their abilities or social status, because they are all beloved children of the same parent, God. However, Unification Thought overlooks the structural dimension of equality since it confines equality to the fullness of love acquired from within. Thus, this study attempts to expand the concept of equality in Unification Thought to the social structural dimension, including equality of distribution, based on the understanding of love’s orientation toward multidimensional equality. The paper further emphasizes that religion should pursue a public character that supports those in the most disadvantaged position and realizes equality by distributing social values equally during this era when there is a prolonged pandemic. 본 논문은 장기화된 코로나19 팬데믹으로 더욱 고착화된 불평등의 현실을 고찰하고, 이를 개선해 나갈 수 있는 사회 윤리적 토대로 통일사상이 제안하는 사랑의 평등이념에 대해 검토해 보는데 목적을 둔다. 통일사상은 천부적 능력의 차이나 사회적 지위의 고하를 막론하고 모든 인간은 부모이신 하나님의 사랑을 받는 자녀로 동등한 인격적 가치를 지닌다는 사랑의 평등론을 주장한다. 그러나 한편으로 통일사상은 평등을 인간의 내면에서 획득되는 사랑의 충만감에 있어서의 평등으로만 한정하여 평등의 구조적 차원을 간과하고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 통일사상의 평등이념을 사랑의 평등 지향성에 관한 이해에 기초하여, 분배의 평등을 포함한 사회 구조적인 차원으로 확장해 보고자 시도하였다. 이와 함께 장기화된 팬데믹으로 고통 받는 이 시대에 가장 불리한 위치에 있는 약자들을 돕고, 사회적 가치들의 공정한 분배를 통해 평등을 실현해 나가는 것이 종교가 담당해야 할 시대적 공공성임을 피력하였다.

공생주의로 본 남북의 경제체제 통합 방향

The primary purpose of this paper is to find a direction for the economic integration of the two Koreas from the perspective of co-livingism, the ideal economic theory of Unification Thought. The Co-livingism of Unification Thought stands for an economy of mutual benefits that contributes to the welfare of all people through joint ownership between God, me, and others, as well as appropriate possession based on the conscience. Based on this Unification Thought perspective, this paper proposes two directions for the economic integration of the two Koreas. First of all, economic integration should be constructed on the capitalist market system that affirms the free expression of individual creativity, an essential basis to dominion over creation. This, however, should not be built on market logic alone, but should be jointly conducted by the government and the market, with roles adequately shared between them. Secondly, economic integration should focus not only on economic development, but also on social welfare. 본 논문은 통일한국의 경제체제 통합 방향을 통일사상의 이상경제론인 공생주의의 관점에서 모색해 보는데 일차적 목적이 있다. 통일사상의 공생주의는 하나님과 나, 이웃의 공동소유와 양심에 따른 적정소유를 통해 만민의 복지에 기여할 수 있는 호혜의 경제를 실현해 나가고자 한다. 이러한 통일사상의 지평에서 바라볼 때 통일한국의 경제체제는 다음과 같은 두 가지 방향으로 모색될 필요가 있다. 첫째, 남북의 경제는 만물주관의 토대인 개인의 창조성의 자유로운 발휘를 긍정하는 자본주의적 시장경제 체제로 단일화를 이루어야 하나 이를 전적으로 시장의 논리에만 맡겨서는 안 되며, 시장과 정부가 적절하게 역할을 분담하는 방향으로 구축되어야 한다. 둘째, 남북의 경제단일화 방향을 경제 성장의 시각에서 뿐 아니라 사회 복지적 시각에서 통합적으로 모색해 나가는 작업이 더욱 요청된다.

공생주의로 본 협동조합 경제 운동에 관한 고찰

본 논문은 통일사상의 이상경제론인 공생주의의 관점에서 협동조합 경제운동이 가지는 이론적 함의에 대해 고찰해 보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 참사랑에 기반 한 연대의 경제를 꿈꾸는 공생주의를 현실화하기 위한 경제조직으로 협동조합이 유 의미한 가치를 지님을 밝히고자 한다. 협동조합은 자유로운 시민들이 생활에서 느끼 는 공동의 필요를 협동으로 해결하고자 만든 자발적인 결사체이다. 협동조합 경제운 동은 구체적인 삶의 터전인 지역을 중심으로 시민 주체들이 공동의 목적과 관심을 위해 모이고, 공동소유와 민주적 운영에 기초하여 일상생활의 문제들을 함께 극복해 나가는 호혜의 경제를 지향한다. 자본보다는 사람이, 경쟁보다는 협동과 공동체의 가치가 더욱 강조되는 협동조합 경제운동은 인류한가족의 관점에서 만민의 복지에 기여하는 참사랑의 경제를 실현하고자 하는 공생주의와 상통하는 면이 많다고 생각 된다. 이에 공생주의의 현실화를 위해 협동조합 경제운동을 적극적으로 검토해볼 필요가 있다. This paper studies the implications of the economic movement of cooperatives from the perspective of the principle of mutual existence - the theory of an ideal economy in Unification Thought, and seeks to reveal the substantial value of cooperatives as an economic organization needed in realizing the principle of mutual existence, which dreams of solidarity economy based on true love. A cooperative is an association voluntarily formed by free citizens to jointly tackle and resolve the common needs of life. The economic movement of cooperatives aims for reciprocity wherein the main citizen agents gather for the common needs and interests of citizens, and try to jointly overcome daily life problems based on joint ownership and a democratic management. This economic movement, which emphasizes people more than capital, cooperation and communal value more than economy, has a lot in common with the principle of mutual existence, which seeks to realize a true love-based economy that contributes to the welfare of all people from the perspective of one big family under God. Therefore, an economic movement of cooperatives is an essential that needs to be positively considered for the realization of the principle of mutual existence.

통일사상의 분배 정의론 정립을 위한 시론적 연구 : 존 롤즈의 정의론을 중심으로

본 논문은 통일사상의 분배 정의론 정립을 위한 시론적 연구로 존 롤즈(John Rawls) 가 제시한 공정으로서의 정의를 통일사상의 관점에서 살펴보는데 초점을 두었다. 롤 즈는 천부적 능력과 사회적 지위와 같은 우연적 요소에 근거한 분배를 정의의 관점 에서 ‘불공정’으로 규정하고, 이를 시정하기 위한 두 가지 정의의 원칙을 제시하였 다. 이를 통해 개인의 노력이나 공적의 차이를 무시하지 않으면서도 최소 수혜자를 배려하고, 모든 구성원들의 실질적인 기회 균등을 보장할 수 있도록 사회의 기본구 조를 편성하고자 하였다. 이같은 롤즈의 정의론은 통일사상의 분배 정의론을 정립해 나가는데 있어서 매우 유용한 시각을 제공한다. 첫 번째로 롤즈의 통찰은 통일사상 이 분배의 기준으로 제시하는 창조력의 발휘에 영향을 미치는 상이한 배경적 조건 들을 도덕적으로 어떻게 이해할 것인지를 숙고하게 한다. 두 번째로 롤즈의 사상은 통일사상이 자연적, 사회적 여건의 차이에서 비롯된 불평등을 사회 윤리적 차원에서 어떻게 개선해 나가야 할지에 대한 응답을 요청한다. As a preliminary study to define the theory of distributive justice within Unification Thought, this paper focuses on John Rawls’ definition of justice as fairness from the perspective of Unification Thought. Rawls sees distribution based on coincidental factors such as innate ability and social position as unfair from the perspective of justice. To rectify it, he proposes two principles of justice. Through these principles, Rawls sought to form a social basic structure that does not exclude individual efforts and desert differences, while at the same time takes into consideration the least advantaged members of society, and guarantees equal substantial opportunities for all members of that society. This theory of justice by Rawls provides very useful point of views in defining the theory of distributive justice within Unification Thought. Firstly, Rawls’ insight helps us contemplate on how to morally understand the different background conditions that influence the use of creativity which is the standard of distribution proposed in Unification Thought. Secondly, Rawls’ thought requests answers in regards to how Unification Thought envisions to systematically rectify and improve inequality coming from natural, social conditions, from a social ethics perspective.

사회적 협동조합에 관한 통일사상적 이해

본 논문의 목적은 협동조합의 새로운 형태인 사회적 협동조합을 통일사상적 관점에서 분석 하고 연구하는 것이다. 이를 통해 하나님의 참사랑에 기반 한 수평적 경제를 지향하는 통일사 상의 공생주의를 실현해 나가는데 있어서 사회적 협동조합이 갖는 가치와 의미를 분석해 보고 자 한다. 사회적 협동조합은 취약계층을 위한 일자리 창출, 지역 공동체에 필요한 사회서비스를 제 공하기 위해 설립된 사회적 경제조직이다. 조합원들이 갖는 공통의 필요를 충족시키는데 일차 적 목적이 있는 협동조합과 달리 사회적 협동조합은 사회적 가치 실현에 근본목적을 두기 때문 에 비영리적, 공익적인 성격이 더욱 강하다. 이러한 사회적 협동조합은 통일사상이 지향하는 공동소유, 이웃사랑, 사회적 약자 보호 등의 참사랑의 경제를 구현하는데 이상적이라고 생각 된다. 통일사상은 모든 재화와 만물은 하나님이 인간에게 주신 공동의 선물이라는 공유사상과 양심에 기초한 적정소유를 통해 물질과 부가 평등하게 분배되는 수평적인 경제를 지향한다. 그 런 점에서 사회적 협동조합은 현실경제에서 통일사상의 이상을 부분적으로나마 실현해 나갈 수 있는 실천조직으로 유의미하다고 판단된다. The purpose of this paper is to study and analyze social cooperatives, a new form of cooperative, from the perspective of Unification Thought. Based on this, the study seeks to analyze the value and significance of social cooperatives in connection with the gradual realization of Co-Livingism, which aims for a horizontal economy based on God’s true love. A social cooperative is a social economic organization established to create jobs for the disadvantaged and provide social services needed within the local community. Unlike a regular cooperative which prioritizes meeting the common needs of its members, a social cooperative has a stronger non-profit and public nature as its fundamental purpose lies in the realization of social values. Hence, a social cooperative can be said to be ideal in realizing an economy of true love that Unification Thought aims for – an economy that seeks for joint ownership, love for neighbors, protection of the social disadvantaged, etc. Unification Thought fundamentally aims for the idea of joint ownership, which believes everything God gave humans including the creation and all goods, are His gifts to all people, and also aims for a horizontal economy in which wealth and goods are equally distributed through reasonable possession based on the conscience. From this perspective, this paper concludes that a social cooperative is significant as an actual organization that can realize, even if partially, the ideal of Unification Thought within our present economy.

종교의 시선으로 본 능력주의와 공정사회 - 통일사상의 ‘창조성’ 개념을 중심으로 -

전근대적 세습사회의 안티테제로 등장한 능력주의는 오늘날 자본주의 시장경제의 지배적인 분배원리로 이해되고 있다. 능력주의의 이상에 따라 누구나 열심히 노력하면 인생의 성공을 이룰 수 있고 얼마든지 사회적 상승을 성취할 수 있다고 본다. 그러나 실제로 능력주의는 각자의 능력 발휘에 영향을 미치는 비능력적 요인들, 즉 운과 차별, 구조적 불평등을 교묘히 은폐한 채 사회 내에서의 우리의 위치를 개인의 순수한 업적의 결과물로 포장하여 불평등을 정당화한다. 나아가 능력주의는 사회적 약자들이 경험하는 열악한 처우와 물질적 궁핍을 그들의 노력 부족으로 몰아세워 차별과 혐오를 확산시킨다. 이러한 사실은 능력주의가 현실에서 그 이상과 달리 소수 특권층의 부와 권력의 독점을 우회적으로 정당화하는 또 다른 불공정 이데올로기로 작동하고 있음을 여실히 보여준다. 이에 본 논문은 종교의 관점에서 능력주의를 비판적으로 고찰하고 형평 뿐 아니라 평등의 원리에 기반 하여 ‘능력’에 관한 재이해를 시도하고자 한다. 이를 통해 종교는 능력주의 신화를 비판하는 공적 담론들을 생성하는 데 주도적 역할을 해야 하며 활발한 사회적 실천을 토대로 보다 정의로운 공동체를 구현해 나가려는 노력을 경주해야 함을 피력하고자 한다. The concept of meritocracy which emerged as an antithesis to premodern hereditary societies, and it has today come to represent the dominant distribution principle in capitalist markets. Meritocracy holds that anyone who works hard can succeed in life and achieve social mobility. However, meritocracy conceals non-meritocratic factors that influence ability, such as luck and discrimination, as well as structural inequalities. Through the skillful presentation of societal positions as the direct result of personal achievement, it legitimizes inequality in society. Additionally, meritocracy tends to attribute the harsh conditions and poverty of society's disadvantaged to their lack of effort, thereby exacerbating discrimination and hatred. It is evident from these facts that meritocracy operates as yet another unjust ideology, indirectly legitimizing the monopoly of power and wealth held by very few, contrary to its idealistic assertion. Hence, this paper examines meritocracy critically from a religious perspective and attempts to reconsider the concept of ability based not only on fairness but also on the principle of equality. As a result, the paper emphasizes that religion must play a leading role in dismantling the myth of meritocracy and never cease to play an active role in creating a just society.

포스트 코로나 시대의 경제윤리와 공생주의

코로나19 바이러스의 세계적 확산은 글로벌 경제를 일시에 위기로 몰아넣으며 지구적 자본주의 시스템에 대한 윤리적 각성을 촉발시켰다. 신종 전염병의 출현과 빠른 전파가 지난 수 십 년간 세계 경제를 지배해 온 신자유주의의 생태 파괴적 생산 방식과 긴밀히 연관되어 있다는데 의견이 모아지고 있다. 이는 자본주의에 대한 근본적인 성찰과 반성을 통해 경제의 새로운 틀을 모색하지 않으면 전염병 재난의 반복적 회귀를 원천적으로 막을 수 없음을 시사한다. 이윤과 성장 중심의 경제에서 벗어나 모두의 안전을 보장하고 인간과 자연의 지속적인 공존을 가능하게 하는 경제 질서의 뉴 노멀(new normal)을 구축해야 할 과제가 우리에게 주어진 것이다. 이에 본 논문은 포스트 코로나 시대의 대안적 경제윤리를 통일사상의 이상경제론인 공생주의의 관점에서 성찰해 보고자 한다. 먼저 코로나19 팬데믹이 지구적 자본주의와 어떠한 연결고리를 갖는지를 다각도로 분석하고, 바이러스가 선명하게 들춰낸 경제적 불평등의 현실을 비판적으로 검토한 후 이에 대한 성찰적 전망을 공생주의를 중심으로 논의해 보고자 한다. 이를 통해 드러내고자 하는 논지는 다음과 같다. 어쩌면 더욱 잔인하게 다가올지 모를 코로나 이후의 세상을 막기 위해서는 인간의 물질적 탐욕을 제어하여 성장의 과실을 모두가 고루 나누는 정의로운 경제의 길을 모색해야 하며, 공생주의가 제시하는 공동소유와 적정소유의 정신이 이에 부분적으로 기여할 수 있음을 부각시키고자 한다. The global spread of the COVID-19 virus is pushing the global economy into a crisis and triggering an ethical awakening to the current global capitalist system. There is also rising consensus that the emergence and rapid spread of this new epidemic is closely related to the neoliberal system of production, an ecologically destructive method that has dominated the world economy for decades. This means that a fundamental introspection on capitalism and the implementation of necessary changes will be important to essentially prevent the future recurrence of such epidemic disaster. Hence, we have the task of finding an economic new normal that ensures everyone’s safety as well as the continued coexistence of human beings and nature, away from a profitand growth-oriented economy. This paper, therefore, attempts to reflect on alternative economic ethics for a post COVID- 19 world from the perspective of the Co-existence (Gongsaeng), the ideal economy theory of Unification Thought. The paper analyzes from various angles the connection between the COVID-19 pandemic and global capitalism, critically reviews the reality of economic inequality clearly disclosed through the epidemic, and finally discusses reflective prospects centered on the Co-existence (Gongsaeng). The point that this paper seeks to make is that we should find a way to realize a just economy in which the fruits of growth are evenly shared so as to prevent what could be a harsh post-COVID world through control of human materialistic greed. The paper presents the spirit of co-possession and reasonable possession proposed in Co-existence (Gongsaeng) as alternative solutions that can partially contribute toward achieving such an economy.
