        국내총생산을 극대화 하는 제조업 최적 R&D 비중에 관한 연구

        Following endogenous growth theory and the notion that Research & Development (R&D) drives economic growth over the long term, Korea has continued to increase its quantitative investment in R&D. The volume of R&D investment from the Korean government has increased from 20.9 trillion won in 2019 to 24.5 trillion won in 2020 and 27.2 trillion won in 2021. Therefore, it is time to review the appropriate level on R&D investment. In this study, we estimate Korea’s optimal ratio of R&D in the manufacturing sector from a GDP perspective using the econometric model proposed by Scully(1994). According to the analysis, the ratio of R&D investment in the manufacturing sector needed to maximize GDP was derived at 69.7%, which is lower than the actual R&D ratio in 2017(71.1%). In other words, it seems to be set lower level than current ratio of R&D investment. From the perspective of maximizing GDP, it is necessary to design policies to enhance efficiency and strategy rather than R&D input. This study is meaningful in that it derives the optimal ratio of R&D investment and assesses Korea’s R&D policy with respect to the manufacturing sector. In addition, it will be able to be used as a basic data reference for establishing R&D investment strategies in the future. 연구개발(R&D)이 장기적으로 경제성장을 유인한다는 내생적 성장이론에 따라, 한국은 R&D에 대한 투자를 지속적으로 늘려왔다. 현재 한국의 정부 R&D 투자규모는 2019년 20.9조원에서 2020년 24.5조원, 2021년 27.2조원으로 급격히 증가하고 있으며, R&D 투자의 적정 수준에 대한 검토가 필요한 시점이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 GDP, 수출, 설비투자 등에서 한국 경제의 상당한 비중을 차지하고 있는 제조업을 대상으로 Scully(1994)의 모형을 이용하여 국내총생산(GDP) 관점에서 제조업 분야에 대한 적정 R&D 비중을 분석하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, GDP를 극대화하는 제조업 분야 R&D 비중은 69.7%로 도출되었으며, 이는 2017년 기준 실제 제조업 R&D 비중인 71.1% 보다 약간 낮은 수치이다. 즉, 현재의 R&D 투자 비중 보다 약간 낮은 수준으로 설정되어야 하며, GDP 극대화 관점에서는 투입의 증가 보다 효율화를 위한 투자 포트폴리오 구성의 적절성 및 효과성에 대한 검토가 우선되어야 한다. 장기적으로는 각 산업 및 분야 특성을 고려한 전략적 투자정책 설계가 필요할 것이다. 본 연구는 생산함수를 바탕으로 제조업 분야의 적정 R&D 투자 규모를 도출하고 현재 한국의 R&D 정책을 진단하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 향후 관련 분야의 R&D 투자 전략 수립의 기초자료로 참고 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

        Spatial variation of in situ stress at shallow depth in South Korea

        We investigate the characteristics of in situ stress at shallow depths (< 1 km) measured from borehole hydraulic fracturing tests in South Korea by comparing them with the deep tectonic stress field. We compile a large number of hydraulic fracturing test data (stress orientations and magnitudes) from 207 boreholes over the country. A hydraulic fracturing test yields a point measure at a borehole, which differs from the regional value estimated by the inversion of earthquake focal mechanical solution in various aspects including measurement technique, depth and covering area. We use a smoothing technique to derive stress trends from the individual hydraulic fracturing stress data and find some distinct patterns in shallow stress fields that are both consistent and inconsistent with the deep tectonic stress direction. Two main regions, the northeast and southeast, show differences between the shallow and deep stress orientations. In the northeast, the maximum horizontal principal stress is rotated by ~60° from that of the deep-seated stress to the direction subparallel to the topography of the region’s mountain ridges. The southeast has heterogeneous stress orientations, so no representative stress orientations are resolved. This stress heterogeneity in southeast may have arisen owing to several possible factors including lithology variation, coastal lines, and numerous faults in this region. The magnitudes of the horizontal principal stress, despite their severe scattering, tend to be affected by lithology as a primary factor. Horizontal stresses measured in sedimentary rocks are shown to be slightly lower than those in crystalline rocks, indicating differentiated stress transfer depending on rigidity of rocks. The depth-wise variation of horizontal stresses with respect to vertical stress shows that the prevailing stress regime changes with depth from reverse-faulting (0–200 m depth), via transitional (200–500 m), to strike-slip faulting (below 500 m). Our study shows that the point-measurements of stress often capture locally perturbed stress due to the heterogeneity of geologic media, in contrast to the average tectonic stress field. Our study also suggests that depth-wise stress characterization may be necessary in addition to spatial characterization.

        도서관 사서 아카이브 구축 방안 연구

        This study believed that records could help 'strengthen identity' and that job archives could help provide pride and identity in one's job by preserving the history and culture of it. This study investigated whether building a librarian archive could help preserve records related to librarians, share experiences and knowledge among librarians, and confirm the history and identity of oneself and the group. In-depth interviews were conducted with librarians to examine what records should be included and what records could help strengthen the librarian's identity. As a result of the interview, various records related to the work of librarians were identified, and records related to the history of librarians were also confirmed. It was found that historical events related to librarians and library services provided by previous generations of librarians will help strengthen the identity of librarians. Thus, the Librarian Archive can help librarians reflect on themselves as librarians and decide on their own direction. This study presented a plan to build a librarian archive as a participatory archive through cooperation between institutions and communities. In this study, it was expected that through building a librarian archive, it would be possible to strengthen the professional identity of librarians, share the history of librarians, create a collective intelligence platform, efficiently process work, and improve the social status of libraries and librarians.

      • 보행자 안전 증진을 위한 생활권 도로의 제한속도 기준 마련 연구

        보행자 안전 증진을 위해 안전속도 5030 정책을 시행하고 있으나, 도로시설 및 차량 관점에서의 속도를 설정하고 있어 보행자 관점에서의 세분화된 속도 설정 기준은 부재한 실정이다. 생활권 도로는 생활권 내에 보행자의 이동성이 중요시되는 구간으로 보행 비율이 상대적으로 많기 때문에 다양한 통행수단과의 상충으로부터 보행자가 안전할 수 있도록 생활권 안심도로 운영을 위한 제한속도 설정이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 도로의 기능과 보행자의 이용특성을 반영한 제한속도 설정 기준 마련을 목적으로 하여, 도로의 기능적 요소(도로 기하구조)와 도로 이용자의 이용 특성(보행자, 차량)을 고려하여 클러스터링 분석을 통해 대상 구간을 유형화하고, 도로 환경 및 이용 특성을 분석한 결과를 기반으로 제한속도 적정성에 대한 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과를 통해 기존 5030 제한속도 공학적 설정 기준과 보행자를 고려한 본 연구의 생활권 도로 제한속도 설정 기준을 종합한 제한속도 설정 기준 알고리즘을 제시하였으며, 이는 도시부 도로 제한속도 설정 시 활용할 수 있도록 하였다.

        Pilot Study on the Physio-psychological Effects of Botanical Gardens on the Prefrontal Cortex Activity in an Adult Male Group

        Background and objective: With modern lifestyles and the increasing severity of stress-related diseases, the availability and accessibility of the natural environment are critical. Botanical gardens in an urban area can provide opportunities for city dwellers to experience nature and enjoy stress-reducing activities. This study focused on the health-related effects of botanical gardens by investigating prefrontal cortical activity and changes in psychological states. Methods: The experiment was conducted in a national botanical garden located in the city of Sejong, and in an urban area of a contrasting city. Nine healthy adult males participated in the field experiment. Subjects were instructed to 'see and feel' the landscape in a sitting position for 10 minutes, both in the botanical garden and in the city center. The health effects of botanical gardens were verified using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS), including changes in cerebral blood flow, and Profile of Mood State (POMS) and Perceived Restoration Scale (PRS). Results: Our findings showed that the oxyhemoglobin concentrations in the left prefrontal cortex were considerably lower in the botanical garden (-0.057 ± 0.003 μM) than in the city center (0.162 ± 0.002 μM, p < .001). Significantly positive psychological responses to the garden environment were found in the analysis of POMS and PRS, compared to the urban setting. These findings may indicate that a botanical garden can reduce negative psychological symptoms and physiological stress levels in adult males. Conclusion: Our study proves that botanical gardens have the environmental characteristics of restorative and therapeutic spaces. The findings indicated that urban gardens could be considered as health-improving environments by reducing the physio-psychological stress levels of urban dwellers.

        Effects of the Cranio-Vertebral Angle, Neck Disability Index, Pain, and Sternocleidomastoid Thickness on the Quality of Life for Patients with Forward Head Posture

        ckground: The forward head posture acts as a factor that can cause various neurovascular and musculoskeletal dysfunctions. But searching for a study on quality of life for patient with forward head posture was challenging. Therefore, this study aims to find the factors that most affect the quality of life in patients with forward head posture. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations between the cranio-vertebral angle (CVA), neck disability index (NDI), pain, and sternocleidomastoid (SCM) thickness of patients with forward head posture and the quality of life of the patients and to figure out important factors that affect the quality of life of the patients with forward head posture. Design: Cress-sectional study. Methods: To measure the CVA, the angle at which the visible protrusion of C7 and the ear bead were connected was measured, and the neck disorder index was evaluated using the Korean version of NDI. The degree of pain of the subject was measured using a visual-analog scale (VAS). The SCM thickness was measured using an ultrasound imaging device, and the quality of life was evaluated using the Korean version of the World Health Organization quality of life questionnaire (WHOQL-BREF). Results: A significant predictive model showing 88% explanatory power for the dependent variable was confirmed, with an appropriate regression equation being found. The factor that most affected patients' quality of life in the forward head posture was confirmed by the SCM thickness. Conclusion: When applying an intervention to improve a patient's quality of life for patient with forward head posture, an intervention method that improves the SCM thickness should be recommended.
