Dry air is an excellent alternative to SF6 gas and is used as an insulation gas in Ecofriendly Gas Insulated Switchgears (EGISs), which has gained popularity in industry. Solid insulators in EGIS play an important role in electrical insulation. On the other hand, surface discharge can occur easily when solid insulators are used. This paper explored the surface discharge characteristics on the structure of three-layered laminated solid insulators to elevate the flashover voltage. A laminated solid insulator was inserted after the quasi-uniform electric field was formed in the test chamber. Dry air was then injected to set the internal pressure to 1 ~ 6 atm, and the AC voltage was applied. When identical solid insulators were stacked, the surface discharge characteristics were similar to those of a single solid insulator. On the other hand, the flashover voltage rose when the middle part was thicker and had lower permittivity than the top and bottom parts in the laminated solid insulator. Based on experimental results, when stacking a solid insulator in three layers, the middle part of the solid insulator should be at least four times as thick as the top and bottom parts and have lower permittivity than the others. In addition, the flashover voltage increased with increasing gas pressure on the surface of the laminated solid insulator due to the gas effect. This study may allow insulation design engineers to have useful information when using dry air for the insulation gas where the surface discharge can occur.

Recently acute stress disorder was classified in DSM-Ⅳ. This study was performed to investigate the clinical characteristics of patients with acute stress disorder after burn injury. The symptoms were reported at 10.7 days after burn injury, and the patients were referred to psychiatric department 5.5days after the symptoms reported. Two of 17 patients were diagnosed as posttraumatic stress disorder later. The patients with acute stress disorder were not different from the patient without acute stress disorder in age, sex, educational level. But the percentage of burn area and the degree of burn were higher in acute stress disorder patients. There were no differences in duration of admission, duration of ICU care, number of dressing, and number of operation between the acute stress disorder group and the control group. The results support that the objective severity of stress is related with the occurrence of acute stress disorder.

The effect of heating rate and oxide film on copper surface on the dimensional change during sintering Cu-10% Sn compact and possible mechanism for the abnormal expansion near the peritectic temperature (798℃) are suggested. Two kinds of copper powders, reduced powder and oxidized powder, are used in this experiment in order to investigate the effect of oxide film on copper surface on the dimensional change of Cu-Sn transient liquid phase sintering. According to these experimental observation, the dimensional change is strongly depended upon the amount of localized tin-rich liquid phase during sintering. The more localized tin-rich liquid phase result in more dimensional expansion. In the case of specimen which is prepared with oxidized copper powder, the dimensional expansion is smaller than that of specimen prepared with reduced copper powders. It is apparent that the thin film of copper oxide on copper powder makes easy the flowing of tin-rich liquid through the interparticles of copper which may reduce the amount of localized tin-rich phase and resulted smaller dimensional expansion subsequently.
