        강중비금속소재물의 자동측정에 관한 고찰

        In determining non-metallic inclusion rating in steel, the efficiency and reliability of conventional manual method and computer aided automatic method using image analyzer have been investigated. To see the effect of shape change of the inclusions on the cleanliness value based on existing test standards, the test coupons examined were taken from continuously casted slab, hot rolled plate and from cold rolled sheet where some inclusions were extremely elongated. Results show that the cleanliness values determined by two methods agree fairly well for both samples with globular oxide inclusions and with properly elongated inclusions. For samples with extremely elongated inclusions, however, the cleanliness value processed by image analyzer tends to be smaller than that of manual count. It appears that the automatic method gives faster and more reliable cleanliness value since the image analyzer determines the value in area fraction instead of in point fraction.

      • 일본의 건축계를 알자

        우리나라의 건축사제도나 건축법 그리고 건축관련 교육제도 등이 일본의 그것과 유사하거나 깊은 관련이 있음을 부정할 수 없다. 이는 건축 초기 법제정과정에서 일본의 건축제도를 참고할 수 밖에 없었던데도 원인이 있겠으나 같은 동양문화권으로서 역사나 문화가 유사한 것과도 깊은 관계가 있다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 같은 동양문화권이면서도 중국은 이미 건축가인증제도나 교육제도 등의 정비에 있어 구미식 모델, 특히 AIA의 제도를 도입하는 등 세계화에 따른 시장개방에 적극 대처하고 있는데 반하여 우리나라와 일본은 이에 크게 뒤지고 있는 듯한 감이 있다. 오는 4월 16일부터 19일까지 제주도 서귀포에서 열리는 동북아3국 건축사협의회에서는 시장개방 대응과 건축사자격상호인증 등을 주의제로 다루게 된다. 따라서 이러한 때에 우리와 제도적으로 매우 흡사한 일본의 건축관계 현황을 알고, 그것을 타산지석으로 삼아 앞으로의 대안을 수립하는데 참고가 되기를 바라는 뜻에서 일본의 건축계와 관련된 여러 가지 자료들을 소개하고자 한다.

      • 감천항의 해수유동 특성

        Gamcheon Bay has complicated and unique flow pattern which is affected by topography characteristics of a semi-closed bay and warm water discharge from the power plant located at the bay. It is very important to consider warm water discharge with tidal period and wind effects, which are mainly acting on the surface flow patterns in Gamcheon Bay. The results of observation show as follows; i) Because Gamcheon bay has much elongated shape to the north-south direction and narrow entrance with two separated breakwaters, the flow is very weak inside the bay. ii) The main flow path is at the west side of the bay. The direction of flood current is northward along the west side of the bay and the direction of ebb current is southward along the west side of the bay. The southward direction of warm water discharge has curved to the west side of the bay. iii)At the period of flood current for neap tide, the flow direction is southward in the bay, which is thought by the effects of warm water discharge. But at the bottom layer, the effects of tidal current reached to the middle of the bay, and showed features like eddy. iv) The wind effect is very strong, especially, prominent in the west and east side of the bay.

        금강하구 염분전선의 변화 연구

        The structure and change of the salinity front formed by the outflow of Keum River into the adjacent sea is investigated through the analysis of some possible data. The outflow of the river has no peculiar direction and controlled by the various factors. The analysis of data which are obtained at March and October show that at March, the salinity front is weakened as compared with October. The outflow pattern is not uniform but varies significantly with time period less than one week.

        Clinical Study on Safety, Clinical Indicators of Polydioxanone Sutures Inserted into Vastus Medialis Muscle in Degenerative Knee Osteoarthritis

        Objective: Physiologically, the vastus medialis muscle is the first muscle to undergo muscle atrophy, and it was thought that pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis could be reduced if this muscle could be strengthened and stabilized. The purpose of this study was to prove the effectiveness in knee osteoarthritis using polydioxanone sutures that have been tried in other musculoskeletal areas. Method: Forty knee osteoarthritis patients voluntarily participated in the study, and divided into 30 polydioxanone suture needle (MEST-B2375 produced by Ovmedi Co.) and 10 sham needle (without suture). And the needles were inserted into the vastus medialis muscle. In all patients, safety evaluation including blood tests and ultrasonography as well as efficacy evaluation including isometric maximal contractile strength of quadriceps muscle, weight bearing pain, impression of change, quadriceps angle, rescue drug intake were evaluated up to 30 weeks after the procedure. Results: Isometric maximal contractile strength showed a significant improvement at 4 weeks after the procedure in the polydioxanone suture group, and the weight-bearing pain showed a significant improvement at every visit in the polydioxanone suture group compared with baseline values. Patient global impression of change score showed significant improvement at 20 and 30 weeks, and clinical score showed improvement at every visit. Conclusion: Insertion of polydioxanone sutures showed improvement in muscle strength and knee pain by supporting and fixation of the vastus medialis muscle in patients with degenerative knee osteoarthritis. Insertion of polydioxanone sutures is considered to have a therapeutic effect in knee osteoarthritis patients.

        다중지점 지진하중에 대한 아치구조물의 지진응답 분석

        Spatial structures have the different dynamic characteristics from general rahmen structures. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately analyze dynamic characteristics and seismic response for seismic design of spatial structure. Keel arch structure is used as an example structure because it has primary characteristics of spatial structures. In case of spatial structures with different ground condition and time lag, multiple support excitation may be subjected to supports of a keel arch structure. In this study, the response of the keel arch structure under multiple support excitation and with time lag are analyzed by means of the pseudo excitation method. Pseudo excitation method shows that the structural response is divided into two parts, ground displacement and structural dynamic response due to ground motion excitation. It is known that the seismic responses of spatial structure under multiple support excitation are different from those of spatial structure under simple excitation. And the seismic response of spatial structure with time lag are different from those of spatial structure without time lag. Therefore, it has to be necessary to analyze the seismic response of spatial structure under multiple support excitation and time lag because the spatial structure supports may be different and very long span. It is shown that the seismic response of spatial structure under multiple support seismic excitation are different from those of spatial structure under unique excitation.

        자동차용 도금강재의 저항 점용접부 특성

        Resistance spot weldability of coated steels for automobile applications was investigated. Test samples were prepared from commercial products of 0.8 mm in thickness. Based on the tensile-shear test, surface quality examination and cracking behavior, it was clear that aluminized steels showed good weldability. Microstructural inspection revealed that the coated materials was piled up at the split zone in the welding of aluminized steels. It was also demonstrated that no weld crack was found in the aluminized steel weld metal even the welding was carried out with higher current. However, through thickness cracks were detected at the weld metal of zinc coated steel. Small particles were found on the crack surface of zinc coated steel weld metal. It was thought that zinc vapor played key role to form the weld crack.
