The objective of this study is to evaluate the mechanical behaviors and structural integrity of the weldment of high strength steel by using an acoustic emission (AE) techniques. Simple tension and AE tests were conducted against the 3 kind of welding test specimens. In order to analysis the effectiveness of weldability, joinability and structural integrity, we used K-means clustering method as a unsupervised learning pattern recognition algorithm for obtained multivariate AE main data sets, such as AE counts, energy, amplitude, hits, risetime, duration, counts to peak and rms signals. Through the experimental results, the effectiveness of the proposed method is discussed.

차세대전동차는 대불 시험선에서 8만km 신뢰성 주행시험이 진행 중에 있다. 차세대 전동차는 6량 1편성으로 제작되었으며, 신뢰성 검증을 위해 만차 상태로 주행시험을 하고 있다. 주행시험 동안 고장 데이터를 주기적으로 분석하였고, 성장평가를 수행하여 신뢰성 목표치를 만족하게 되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 차세대 전동차의 신뢰성 성장평가관리에 따른 결과를 보여준다. The AEMU(Advanced EMU) running test has been performed to verify the reliability in the DABUL test line. For reliability verification, the AEMU consists of a 6-car production is tested as full load. Periodically, failure data from running test is analyzed and system parts are modified to reflect the result of analysis. Because these remedy actions affect reliability, the AEMU can meet reliability target. In this paper, so far the reliability results of AEMU are presented.

This paper describes a low-cost single-phase active power filler, which consists of a half-bridge PWM inverter with a simple control circuit. In order to verify the performance of proposed active power filter, many computer simulations with EMTP codes and experimental works with a hardware prototype were done. Both results confirm that the proposed active power filter shows excellent performance to eliminate the harmonics generated in the single-phase non-linear load. The active power filter has advantage of low implementation cost and compact size, using a half-bridge inverter and a simple control circuit with only one current sensor. So, it can be fabricated as a plug-in type. This paper shows the necessity and a good possibility to apply such advantage to the electric railway system
