This paper deal with the extended ?? filtering problem for a class of time-varying nonlinear system. The extended ?? filter is developed based on the Krein spaces estimation theory. The proposed filter bounds the maximum energy gain from exogenous disturbances with unknown spectral properties to the estimation errors and it has the same structure with the conventional extended Kalman filter. The performance of the proposed filter is analysed through the numerical examples.

An efficient spectrum-recovery method utilizing fast Hadamard transform (FHT) is presented. The method uses a matrix-decomposition technique to obtain permutations necessary for applying FHT to the spectrum-recovery in Hadamard transform (HT) spectrometers. The decomposition method is superior to other methods. The decomposition method is fast, reliable, efficient and inexpensive. In addition, the decomposition method can obtain permutations directly from a simplex matrix without any look-up table.

Recently, the so-called FIR-type (FIR, finite impulse response) state-feedback memory controller andperiodic memory controller have been developed, and it was revealed that this control design approach can reducethe conservatism of stability and stabilization conditions for periodic or uncertain systems. In these work, the systemduality and a descriptor representation of the original system are used. In this paper, we focus only on the FIRtypestate-feedback memory controller design problem, which is a special case of the general memory controllerstructure previously developed. Although the structure of the controller considered in this paper is a particularcase of the existing one, this special consideration gives some benefits, which are the main purpose of this paper. Finally, examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the FIR-type state-feedback memory controller in terms of lessconservatism.

In this paper, the fiber-optic Code Division Multiple Access(FO-CDMA) system using Hadamard transform is proposed. The proposed system consists of the optical encoder which generates the optical encoded signal using the Hadamard transform and the optical decoder which detects the specific user's data using the inverse Hadamard transform. A Hadamard mask is used for the proposed encoder and decoder. Because the proposed FO-CDMA system uses the on/off property of the Hadamard mask, it has merits of being systematically optical and providing fast data transmissions due to optical parallel processing.

In this paper, l∞ fuzzy filtering problem is dealt for nonlinear systems with both persistent boundeddisturbances and missing probabilistic sensor information. The Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy model is adopted torepresent a nonlinear dynamic system. The measurement output is assumed to contain randomly missing data, which is modeled by a Bernoulli distributed with a known conditional probability. To design the l∞ fuzzy filter andguarantee tracking performance, the effect of the perturbation against persistent bounded disturbances is reducedby using the minimum l∞ performance. By using the fuzzy basis-dependent Lyapunov function approach, a sufficientcondition is established that ensure the mean square exponential stability of the filtering error. The proposedsufficient condition is represented as some linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the filter gain is obtained by thesolution to a set of LMIs. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed design method is shown via an example.

The method of increasing signal to noise ratio (SNR) in a Hadamard transform spectrometer (HTS) is multiplexing. The multiplexing is executed by a mask. Conventional masks are mechanical or electro-optical. A mechanical mask has disadvantages of jamming and misalignment. A stationary electro-optical mask has a disadvantage of information losses caused by spacers which partition mask elements. In this paper, a mixed-concept electro-optical mask (MCEOM) is developed by expanding the length of a spacer to that of lon-off mask element. An MCEOM is operated by stepping a movable mask. 2N measurements are required for N spectrum estimates. The average mean square error (AMSE) using MCEQM is equal to that using a stationary electro-optical mask without spacers for large N. The cost of manufacturing an MCEOM is lower than that of producing a conventional electro-optical mask because an MCEOM needs only (N + 1)/2 on-off mask elements whereas the con¬ventional electro-optical mask needs N on-off mask elements. There are no information losses in the spectrometers having an MCEOM.
