We examined physiological responses related to the survival, oxygen consumption and filtration rate of the blood cockle, Tegillaarca granosa as a result of salinity changes. The 44-day LS50 (median lethal salinity) at 10ºC for adult and juvenile was 15.8 (confidence limits 13.5-18.2 psu) and 16.2 (confidence limits 14.1-18.4 psu) psu respectively, whereas the 11-day LS50 at 25ºC for adult and juvenile was 16.8 psu (confidence limits 12.9-21.2 psu) and 22.4 (confidence limits 20.5-24.7 psu) psu respictively. In conditions of decreasing salinity, Oxygen consumption and filtration rates decreased or varied irregularly as salinity decreased. The results of this study could prove important in investigating causes of mass mortality and managing shellfish aquaculture farms.

Maximal midexpiratory flow (MMF) was measured on 1280 healthy male adults using Vitalograph in standing position, in order to study the normal standard in the form of prediction equation, its variability and its relation to the other ventilatory measurements. The single and multiple regression analysis of MMF with age and several anthropometric measurements were performed to determine the most important factors which predicted normal value. The results were as follows: 1. MMF was significantly correlated with anthropometric measurements, of which the highest correlations was with age(r=-0.313) and followed by height (r=0.217) but the correlations with weight and body surface area were very low. 2. The prediction equation of MMF (1/sec) on age and height was 0.027 height(cm)-0.034 age(yrs) +0.761 with coefficient of determination(R²)of 0.125 and mean square of error of 0.820 1/sec. 3. There was no improvement of interindividual variability (coefficient of variation) for MMF when the flow was corrected to forced vital capacity (FVC). 4. The lower limits of normal (95% confidence interval) for MMF was 67.0% of the predicted. 5. MMF was significantly correlated with FEV1%(r=0.715), FEV1(r=0.601) and FVC(r=0.363). The prediction equation for MMF(1/sec) versus age and FEV1% was 0.157FEV1%(%)-0.013 age(yrs)-8.589 with mean square of error of 0.606 1/sec.

Due to the output characteristics of lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles (EVs) vary according to battery aging, accurate prediction of the state-of-health (SOH) reflecting the aging state is important. However, it is difficult to consider factors affecting battery characteristics, such as frequent charging and discharging, operating temperature, and state of charge, so there is a limitation in predicting battery SOH. Even in a model that considers the aging state of the battery under these various conditions, there is also a problem in that the complexity of the calculation process and parameters becomes serious. Therefore, in this paper, in order to research on the estimation of the aging state during operation of the INR18650-25R battery, a health indicator (HI) that can reflect the internal state of the battery according to aging is extracted. This research produce a learning image through the extracted HI and build a model study that enables algorithm learning through the image. The experimental profile used for model training and validation was an Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule (UDDS), and a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with strength in image learning was applied for the estimation algorithm.

We investigated the degree of obesity, histological development stages of gonads and sexual maturation induction rates of comb pen shell, Atrina pectinata, per the type of micro-algae supplied. Terms of maturation by singular or mixed supply of microalgae, it was found that maturation of the female was the quickest at 60.0% by the Tetraselmis tetrathele (Tet). experiment group followed by 57.1% by the Chlorella ellipsoidea (Chl). experiment group and 16.7% by the Phaeodactylum tricornutum (Pha). experiment group. However, there were no significant differences between Tet. experiment group and Chl. experiment group. As for the male, maturation was the quickest at 60.0% by the Tet. experiment group followed by 16.7% by the Chl. experiment group and 14.3% by the Pha. experiment group. In light of these results, Tet. is concluded to be a very useful feed organism in breeding the mother comb pen shells. Upon completion of the experiment, the sexual maturation induction rate for the female was found to be the highest at 82.0% in the Tet. experiment group followed by 72.0% by the Chl. experiment group, 64.0% by the Pha. experiment group and 58.0% by the mixed micro-algae experiment group. During the period of experiment, the survival rate was the highest at 94.4% by the mixed micro-algae experiment group followed by 90.0% by the Pha. experiment group, 83.1% by the Tet. experiment group and 78.8% by the Chl. experiment group.
