A New Soybean Cultivar, "Sunam" Suitable for Sprout with Early Maturity and Small Seed

A new soybean variety, Sunam was developed from the cross between Kosuzu and Bukwangkong by soybean breeding laboratory of the National Honam Agricultural Experiment Station (NHAES) in 2002. The preliminary, advanced, and regional yield trials for evaluation and selection were carried out from 1998 to 2002. Sunam had a determinate growth habit, purple flower, grey pubescence, yellow seed coat, brown hilum, and ovoid leaf shape. The maturity date of Sunam was 15 days earlier than the check variety, Pungsan. It has good seed quality for soybean sprout, 100-seed weight being 9.3g and resistance to lodging. It has also been identified to have resistance to soybean mosaic virus. Average yield of Sunam in the regional yield trials for double cropping carried out for three years (2000-2002) was 2.22 ton per hectare.

Need that must be complemented problems such as corrosion by electrolyte leakage of the secondary battery nickel-cadmium that is applied to a railway vehicle to data and fault checking are not available due to a lack of protection circuit. Secondary battery is a component to maintain continually stable performance and supply power to the railway vehicle on an ongoing basis. Lithium-ion with superior performance in energy capacity and stable operating voltage than nickel cadmium that was used to existing railway vehicles, by comparing the lithium polymer secondary battery, I have applied the lithium polymer battery for the first time in railway vehicle. The lithium polymer battery which was applied to the railway vehicle has drawbacks of low-temperature characteristics and price compared to the lithium-ion battery, but it shows that the safety and reliability especially in the risk of explosion are relatively higher than the lithium-ion battery. In spot of the unreasonable aspects price, It has excellent performance stability, safety and maintainability and also has a strength that exceeds the price in terms of efficient. In addition, the lithium polymer battery has the BMS to prevent overcharge and over-discharge and then manage the battery. Throughout the study, such as temperature change of battery cell due to the temperature rise in a scorching summer of the lithium polymer battery, discharge performance and the operation of the safety protection circuit in operation which are applied to urban railway vehicles of Seoul Metro was confirmed reliability and safety.

Over the years, the Social Republic of Vietnam has demonstrated its high annual growth rate over 8%. In order to secure its sustainable economic growth, its has also demonstrated its sharp concerns on building up core infrastructures by luring foreign investments on a large scale, which would underpin the nation"s economic propulsion. Among others, transport infrastructures and networks centering on railway systems are obviously seen as the most urgent to be built to continue its growth. Seoul Metro recently took a significant step forward in Vietnam to launch railway business by executing its export project of 6 units of metro cars to Hanoi as on July 10, 2008. Those 6 cars are scheduled to be put on the tracks linking Yen Bian, Hanoi with Ha Long, for demonstrative running, around October, 2008, carrying tourists on that 163㎞s of the National Railway line serving the region. A successful running on the track will duly entail further export of additional 54 units of Seoul Metro cars to Vietnam. In this thesis, description will be noted on the reuse and economic value of the Seoul Metro"s de-commissioned metro cars, reflecting on the current urban railway law at home regulating the service life of rolling stocks domestically. This thesis will also study the points at issue, and the recommendable future orientation of the Vietnam railway business project.
A New Vegetable Soybean Cultivar, “Danmi 2” with free of Lipoxygenase 1 and 2

“Danmi 2”, a new cultivar for vegetable soybean, was developed from the cross between “Seokryangput” and“YS1307” (Seokryangput/Milyang77) at Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute and released in 2005. The pedigree of “Danmi2”, designated as Milyang 145 in 2002, was YS1307-2B-1-G-1. Vegetable soybean “Danmi 2” was characterized as lipoxygenase1- and 2-free, large seed, very short plant height, and lodging resistance. “Danmi 2” has determinate growth habit, white flower,coat with brown hilum and yellow cotyledon. Over 3 years of Korea regional adaptation tests (2003-2005) for vegetable soybean,“Danmi 2” showed moderate resistance to soybean mosaic virus and lodging, and higher resistance than the check cultivar “Hwae-omput”. Harvesting date of green pod in “Danmi 2” was Aug. 8 which was 4 days later than Hwaeomput and its stem height was9 cm shorter than Hwaeomput. In the same trials, fresh pod of “Danmi 2” (11.61 ton ha1) yielded 9% higher than Hwaeomput(10.68 ton ha1). “Danmi 2” had 6.7 cm fresh pod length, 12.7 m fresh pod width, 79.3 g 100-green seed weight, 41.1% greenseed protein content, and 20.0% green sed oil content. SDS-PAGE on grain storage protein shows that “Danmi 2” was deficient inlipoxygenase 1 and 2.
