        The corona-induced simultaneous removal of NOx and SOx and SO₂from the flue gas is based on the application of narrow voltage pulses to in electrode structure simiar to that of an electrostatic precipitator. The free electros of the corona discharge, having eneygy up to 20 eV, originate active radicals which lead to the transformation of NOx and SOx into their which can be neutralized to salt particulate by adding to the gas a basic compound such as ammonia and calcium hydroxide. the process has been investigated with a test rig installed in the slipstream of the flue gas duct of a coal thermal power plant. The experiments were performed with three reactor modules of different geometries having a hominal gas flow rate of 1000 nM³/h. The voltage pulses, generated with a fast switching experimental device, had a rise front of less than 400 as and a repetition frequency up to 300 Hz. The test results have confimed the physical feasibility of the process. Under initial concentration of NOx and SO₂ between 400 and 530 ppmV, the removal efficiency was 50-60% for NOx and about 80% for SO₂at an energy input to the gas of 12-14 Wh/Nm³when ammonia was injected in the fiue gas, Using hydtated lime instead resulted in a less suitable basic compound. Further experiments are necessary to assess the effect of different electrode geometries of the reactor, the efficiency of the process attainable with an improved coupling of narrow pulse power set to the reactor, and the practical ways for integrating the DeNOx and DeSO₂corona process with the soild particle collection system.

        Green Round connected with trade and environment has been under discussion since WTO was established. It has an effect on the industry of environment that our country become a member of OECD. We must meet with the intensive sanction of air pollution and develope the preventive technology of air pollution. In the case when noxious materials are NOx and SOx that have the same concentration in the sample gas, the reduction rate of NOx and SOx is increased because the ionization works well in the rector and radical reaction among NOx, SOx and C2H4. When the initial concentration of NOx and SOx is lower, the additional amount of C2H4 is higher, the flow rate is lower, the oxgen concentration is higher, and the input voltage and the frequency are higher, the reduction rate of NOx and SOx are increased similarly.

        The horsepower of internal combustion engines is influenced by three factors; Operating factor, environmental fector and design factor. This study is concerned with the horspower on the veriation of air-fuel ratio as an operating factor. The important experimental results are as follows. 1) The behavior of each factor which influences horsepower in variation of air-fuel ratio was proved. 2) The horsepower is largely influenced by the combustion efficiency in the various factors.

        To solve the water pollution prevention problems, sewage and wastewater disposal system as the basic facilities are required strongly. However, the production of sewage sludge, a by-product of sewage and wastewater disposal system, is tending to increase. Therefore, efficient disposal method of sewage and wastewater is needed. At present, there are many problems in current disposal methods such as open dumping, ocean disposal, and incineration. These cause secondary environmental problems. Recycling sewage sludge is an alternative method to solve these problems thoroughly and prevent environmental disruption and maximize economic usefulness. This study presents LCA(Life Cycle Assesment) application to analyze the environmental loads and economy of sewage sludge drying process. The obtained results are applied to prepare fundamental understanding and judgement in view of environmental and economical consideration on drying process of sewage sludge by local authorities. The results are as follows; The economic assessment showed that the expense of drying process of sewage sludge was 45,603 won per ton. Among the expense items, the fuel cost is around 35%(15,961 won per ton) and it is the main cause. It is regarded that reducing the fuel can obtain the reduction of the cost and carbon dioxide, major environmental pollution discharge.

        The following conclusions can be obtained.         Rapid recent development in industry generated environmental issues. The NOx, the main cause for the air pollution, increases the Ozone-concentration and becomes a factor for the photochemical smog and acid-rain. Thus, the preventive method as well as the inhibitive technique for NOx have been demanded. The purpose of present study is to change the harmful gas using high voltage pulse system. In order to reduce the harmful NOx, experiments were done with changes in gas temperature, NOx initial concentration, C_2H_4 concentration, and the amount of pulse voltage.

      • 內燃機關에서의 熱損失에 關한 硏究

        The major objective of this study is to assume the heat loss during the combustion period. For this purpose two methods are suggested. The first is to transform p-v diagram which can be got from the indicator diagram through an experiment into the equivalent constant volume cycle, moreover being in search of the adiabatic constant volume cycle under the same initial conditions of combustion, then to utilize the differences of the peak temperatures for these two cycles. The second is to make use of the heat release through the analysis of indicator diagrams. In case of changing atmospheric conditions, the heat loss during the combustion period obtained by two methods is nearly corresponding. Therefore, it is concluded that these methods for heat loss during the combustion period are reasonable.

        Human error has been cited as a primary cause or contributing factor in disasters and accidents in industries as diverse as nuclear power, aviation, space exploration, and medicine. The origins of Human Factors as a profession with its own domain of expertise are not all self-evident. In fact, humans have been increasing causal factor in both military and civilian aviation accidents as mechanical equipment have become more reliable. Today, a very large percentage of all aviation are attributable, directly or indirectly, to some form of human error. It is therefore intended that the ICAO Human Factors Digests will become a source of both infotmation and practical measures to be used in the effort to improve education, training and remedial measures in Human Factors. As a result of many study, a range of prevention of human error have been developed. but each of kind is lack of a precision, effectiveness and seem to be considered for aspect of deficiency as an systematic accessibility. So, we're going to sort the most effective and systematic prevenetion of human error and concentrate on consolidating method for human error and aviation safety.
