      • Influence of the River Ceasing on Wetland Environment in the Yellow River Delta

( Yan Xi Shi ),( Seong Won Ann ),( Wei Feng Chen ),( Su Feng Tian ),( Hong Nam Kim ) 한국녹지환경디자인학회 2005 녹지환경학회지 Vol.1 No.1

The Yellow River came to cease, which was affected by natural factors and the unreasonable human activities. The flow broke in the Yellow River, and water and sediment flowing into the sea decreased, which lowered the speed of newly formed wetland extending to the sea. The water environment deteriorated; its composing structure tended to be unsteady; the biologic diversity decreased and wetland function reduced. To ensure that the Yellow River delta and its ecosystem develops sustainability, it is significant to reduce times and days of the ceasing, keep certain runoff and sediments in the river to the sea and make its watercourse stable.

The role of PDIA3 in myogenesis during muscle regeneration

        Xi Peng,Chao Wang,Yuanjiao Zhu,Dan Wu,Zien Wang,Xiaoli Xu,Yan Shi,Gang Yang,Yongming Yu 생화학분자생물학회 2020 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.52 No.-

Beta 3 (β3) integrin plays an important role in the initiation of myogenesis in adult muscle. Protein disulfide isomerases (PDIs) can activate β3 integrin in various cells to promote cell migration, adhesion and fusion. However, the effect of PDIs on myogenesis during muscle regeneration has not been elucidated. Here, we report that PDIA3 expression is induced in regenerating myofibers. The inhibition of PDIA3 in muscle injuries in mice disrupts myoblast differentiation, impairs muscle regeneration, and ultimately aggravates muscle damage. Moreover, PDIA3 expression is upregulated and observed on the cell surfaces of myoblasts during differentiation and fusion. The inhibition of extracellular PDIA3 with an anti-PDIA3 monoclonal antibody attenuates β3 integrin/AKT/mTOR signal activity, inhibits myoblast differentiation, and blocks the fusion of myoblasts. Thus, PDIA3 may be a mediator of myoblast differentiation and fusion during muscle regeneration.

Cloud Storage Security Deduplication Scheme Based on Dynamic Bloom Filter

        Xi-ai Yan,Wei-qi Shi,Hua Tian 한국정보처리학회 2019 Journal of information processing systems Vol.15 No.6

Data deduplication is a common method to improve cloud storage efficiency and save network communicationbandwidth, but it also brings a series of problems such as privacy disclosure and dictionary attacks. This paperproposes a secure deduplication scheme for cloud storage based on Bloom filter, and dynamically extends thestandard Bloom filter. A public dynamic Bloom filter array (PDBFA) is constructed, which improves theefficiency of ownership proof, realizes the fast detection of duplicate data blocks and reduces the false positiverate of the system. In addition, in the process of file encryption and upload, the convergent key is encryptedtwice, which can effectively prevent violent dictionary attacks. The experimental results show that the PDBFAscheme has the characteristics of low computational overhead and low false positive rate.

        Xie Shi-kun,Yi Rong-xi,Pan Xiao-liang,Zheng Xiao-qiu,Guo Xiu-yan 한국소성가공학회 2010 기타자료 Vol.2010 No.6

A new technique using slope vibration casting process during heating and isothermal holding period to prepare Al-7Si-2RE alloy has been studied. The small, near-spherical and non-dendritic microstructure with the semi-solid processing requirements has been obtained. Experiments show that the cooling method, pouring process and the convection of melt caused by slope vibration had significant effects on the formation of near-spherical primary gains. The water-cooled copper mold casting with slope vibration at the temperature near liquidus can obtain Al-7Si-2RE alloy with small homogeneous equiaxed grains, the average grain diameter is 48.3μm, and the average grain roundness is 1.92.

      • Semisupervised Tripled Dictionary Learning for Standard-Dose PET Image Prediction Using Low-Dose PET and Multimodal MRI

        Wang, Yan,Shen, Dinggang,Ma, Guangkai,An, Le,Shi, Feng,Zhang, Pei,Lalush, David S.,Wu, Xi,Pu, Yifei,Zhou, Jiliu IEEE 2017 IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering Vol.64 No.3

<P>Objective: To obtain high-quality positron emission tomography (PET) image with low-dose tracer injection, this study attempts to predict the standard-dose PET (S-PET) image from both its low-dose PET (L-PET) counterpart and corresponding magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Methods: It was achieved by patch-based sparse representation (SR), using the training samples with a complete set of MRI, L-PET and S-PET modalities for dictionary construction. However, the number of training samples with complete modalities is often limited. In practice, many samples generally have incomplete modalities (i.e., with one or two missing modalities) that thus cannot be used in the prediction process. In light of this, we develop a semisupervised tripled dictionary learning (SSTDL) method for S-PET image prediction, which can utilize not only the samples with complete modalities (called complete samples) but also the samples with incomplete modalities (called incomplete samples), to take advantage of the large number of available training samples and thus further improve the prediction performance. Results: Validation was done on a real human brain dataset consisting of 18 subjects, and the results show that our method is superior to the SR and other baseline methods. Conclusion: This paper proposed a new S-PET prediction method, which can significantly improve the PET image quality with low-dose injection. Significance: The proposed method is favorable in clinical application since it can decrease the potential radiation risk for patients.</P>

Effervescent cannabidiol solid dispersion-doped dissolving microneedles for boosted melanoma therapy via the “TRPV1-NFATc1-ATF3” pathway and tumor microenvironment engineering

        Jiachen Shi,Qiuling Ma,Wenting Su,Congyan Liu,Huangqin Zhang,Yuping Liu,Xiaoqi Li,Xi Jiang,Chang Ge,Fei Kong,Yan Chen,Ding Qu 한국생체재료학회 2023 생체재료학회지 Vol.27 No.00

Background Conventional dissolving microneedles (DMNs) face significant challenges in anti-melanoma therapy due to the lack of active thrust to achieve efficient transdermal drug delivery and intra-tumoral penetration. Methods In this study, the effervescent cannabidiol solid dispersion-doped dissolving microneedles (Ef/CBD-SD@ DMNs) composed of the combined effervescent components (CaCO3 & NaHCO3) and CBD-based solid dispersion (CBD-SD) were facilely fabricated by the “one-step micro-molding” method for boosted transdermal and tumoral delivery of cannabidiol (CBD). Results Upon pressing into the skin, Ef/CBD-SD@DMNs rapidly produce CO2 bubbles through proton elimination, significantly enhancing the skin permeation and tumoral penetration of CBD. Once reaching the tumors, Ef/CBD-SD@ DMNs can activate transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) to increase Ca2+ influx and inhibit the downstream NFATc1-ATF3 signal to induce cell apoptosis. Additionally, Ef/CBD-SD@DMNs raise intra-tumoral pH environment to trigger the engineering of the tumor microenvironment (TME), including the M1 polarization of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and increase of T cells infiltration. The introduction of Ca2+ can not only amplify the effervescent effect but also provide sufficient Ca2+ with CBD to potentiate the anti-melanoma efficacy. Such a “one stone, two birds” strategy combines the advantages of effervescent effects on transdermal delivery and TME regulation, creating favorable therapeutic conditions for CBD to obtain stronger inhibition of melanoma growth in vitro and in vivo. Conclusions This study holds promising potential in the transdermal delivery of CBD for melanoma therapy and offers a facile tool for transdermal therapies of skin tumors.

      • Predicting standard-dose PET image from low-dose PET and multimodal MR images using mapping-based sparse representation

        Wang, Yan,Zhang, Pei,An, Le,Ma, Guangkai,Kang, Jiayin,Shi, Feng,Wu, Xi,Zhou, Jiliu,Lalush, David S,Lin, Weili,Shen, Dinggang IOP 2016 Physics in medicine & biology Vol.61 No.2

<P>Positron emission tomography (PET) has been widely used in clinical diagnosis for diseases and disorders. To obtain high-quality PET images requires a standard-dose radionuclide (tracer) injection into the human body, which inevitably increases risk of radiation exposure. One possible solution to this problem is to predict the standard-dose PET image from its low-dose counterpart and its corresponding multimodal magnetic resonance (MR) images. Inspired by the success of patch-based sparse representation (SR) in super-resolution image reconstruction, we propose a mapping-based SR (<I>m</I>-SR) framework for standard-dose PET image prediction. Compared with the conventional patch-based SR, our method uses a mapping strategy to ensure that the sparse coefficients, estimated from the multimodal MR images and low-dose PET image, can be applied directly to the prediction of standard-dose PET image. As the mapping between multimodal MR images (or low-dose PET image) and standard-dose PET images can be particularly complex, one step of mapping is often insufficient. To this end, an incremental refinement framework is therefore proposed. Specifically, the <I>predicted</I> standard-dose PET image is further mapped to the <I>target</I> standard-dose PET image, and then the SR is performed again to predict a new standard-dose PET image. This procedure can be repeated for prediction refinement of the iterations. Also, a patch selection based dictionary construction method is further used to speed up the prediction process. The proposed method is validated on a human brain dataset. The experimental results show that our method can outperform benchmark methods in both qualitative and quantitative measures.</P>

Characterization of Ha29, a Specific Gene for Helicoverpa armigeraSingle-nucleocapsid Nucleopolyhedrovirus

        Chuan-Xi Zhang,Zhong-Jian Guo,Shi-Heng An,Dun Wang,Yan-He Liu,V. Shyam Kumar 한국생화학분자생물학회 2005 BMB Reports Vol.38 No.3

Open reading frame 29 (ha29) is a gene specific for Helicoverpa armigera single-nucleocapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus (HearSNPV). Sequence analyses showed that the transcription factor Tfb2 motif, bromodomain and Half-A-TPR (HAT) repeat were present at aa 66-82, 4-76, 55-90 of the Ha29 protein respectively. The product of Ha29 was detected in HearSNPV-infected HzAM1 cells at 3 h post-infection. Western blot analysis using a polyclonal antibody produced by immunizing a rabbit with purified GST-Ha29 fusion protein indicates that Ha29 is an early gene. The size of Ha29 product in infected HzAM1 cells was about 25 kDa, which was larger than the presumed size of 20.4 kDa. Tunicamycin treatment of HearSNPV-infected HzAM1 cells suggested that the Ha29 protein is N-glycosylated. Fluorescent confocal laser scanning microscope examination, and Western blot analysis of purified budded virus (BVs), occlusion-derived virus (O DVs), cell nuclear and cytoplasmic fraction, showed that the Ha29 protein was localized in the nucleus. Our results suggested that ha29 of HearSNPV encodes a non-structurally functional protein that may be associated with virus gene transcription in Helicoverpa hosts.

      • Interaction of Coping Styles and Psychological Stress on Anxious and Depressive Symptoms in Chinese Breast Cancer Patients

        Wang, Xi,Wang, Shu-Sen,Peng, Rou-Jun,Qin, Tao,Shi, Yan-Xia,Teng, Xiao-Yu,Liu, Dong-Gen,Chen, Wei-Qing,Yuan, Zhong-Yu Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.4

Purpose: This study aimed to assess possible interactive effects of coping styles and psychological stress on depression and anxiety symptoms in Chinese women shortly after diagnosis of breast cancer. Methods: Four hundred and one patients with breast cancer were face-to-face interviewed by trained research staff according to a standardized questionnaire including information on socio-demographic characteristics, psychological stress, coping styles, and anxiety and depressive symptoms. Interactive effects were assessed by hierarchical multiple regression analyses. Results: There were significant associations of the four domains of psychological stress with anxiety and depressive symptoms except for the relationship between "worrying about health being harmed" and depressive symptoms. "Abreaction coping behavior" and "escaping coping behavior" significantly increased the level of both anxiety and depressive symptoms; whereas an "active coping style" reswulted in significant decrease. The interaction of "active coping behavior" with "worrying about health being harmed" significantly increased the risk of the anxiety symptoms, while adopting "self-relaxing coping behavior" was associated with significant decrease. The interaction of "worry about daily life and social relationship being restricted" with "escaping coping behavior" significantly increased the risk of the depressive symptoms. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that certain coping styles might moderate the association of psychological stress with anxiety and depressive symptoms in Chinese women with breast cancer.
