        Thermal spray coating is formed by a process in which melted particles flying with high speed towards substrate, then crash and spread on the substrate surface cooled and solidified in a very short time. Stacking of the particles makes coating. This paper was to investigate the adhesiveness of the plasma sprayed coating materials conducted 5% NaCl salt spray by acoustic emission method in tensile loadings. The powders used for the coating were nickel aluminum composite powder Ni-4.5wt.%Al and titanium dioxide powder TiO_2. The salt solution penetrated into the surface of the substrate through pore of the coating layer built in the process of plasma spray. Corrosion productions formed on the surface of substrate. The adhesiveness between the substrate and the coating layer is weaken by corrosion and the exfoliation initiated chiefly at the corrosion surface of the substrate. The AE events and energy of the corroded coating specimens decreased as the salt spray times increase.

        This paper was to investigate of a adhesiveness of the plasma sprayed coating materials did a salt spray by acoustic emission method in tensile loading. The powders used for the coating were nickel aluminum composite powder Ni-4.5wt.%Al and titanium dioxide powder TiO2. These powders were coated on a carbon steel S45C by plasma spray method. The salt solution was a 5% NaCl and the salt spray times were 2, 5 and 10 hours respectively. The salt solution penetrated into the surface of the substrate through pore of the coating layer built in the process of plasma spay. Corrosion productions formed on the surface of substrate. The adhesiveness between the substrate and the coating layer is weaken by corrosion and the exfoliation initiated chiefly at the corrosion surface of the substrate. The AE events and energy of the corroded coating specimens decreased as the salt spray times increased. The AE amplitudes increased at strain range of 6%-11%.

      • 댄스스포츠가 노인들의 정서에 미치는 영향

        Through the study of psychological effects that the dance sports have on elderly, the purpose of this research is to find out ways to develop this field and activate it. It's based on the outcomes of an experiment that observed the changes in behavior of people who participated in it. The participants of this project are made up of total of 79 people who attend Chunhodong Bondang School for senior citizens located in Gyogu, Seoul and Nambu Senior Welfare Center in Bucheon, Kyungki Province and the students who are registered in for basic dance sports class. First, the analysis show that after taking the dancing sports program, the level of satisfaction in life increased up to 0.34, scoring t=7.69 at p<.05. Secondly, the tendency of pessimism decreased to 0.288 in average after the program, and also showing fall in t=6.56 at p<.05. Thirdly, the results showed that the people were happier after the program, judging from the rise up to 0.37 and t=5.28 at p<.05. Fourthly, the sense of alienation and solitude dropped to 0.55 and t=7.29 at p<.05 after the program. Fifthly, they became more relaxed in life than before and this is backed up by the increment of 0.396 and t=5.86 at p<.05. Lastly, people testified that they were in better conditions following the program and the results show that the average went up to 0.324 and t=4.61 at p<.05. From the results, one can conclude that the dance sports program have positive effects on the older generation and that it has actually improved their mental health as well as physical health and lifestyle.

      • 고능력 젖소 축군의 집단번식관리프로그램 적용에 의한 번식효율의 개선

        We investigated the effect of reproductive herd health program (RHHP) on the reproductive performance in high yielding dairy herds. Data collected from 205 lactations at Boeun County, Chungbuk from April 2001 to Dec. 2003 included postpartum reproductive and metabolic diseases, body condition score (BCS), reproductive performance and milking records. First we compared the reproductive performance of cows without RHHP (pre-RHHP group) and cows with RHHP (RHHP group). Intervals from calving to first service (99.6 vs. 81.8 days) and to conception (160.3 vs. 131.8 days) were shorter in the RHHP group than in the pre-RHHP group. Secondly, we determined the effect of milk yield (305 days) on the occurrence of postpartum diseases, BCS changes, and reproductive performance in cows under RHHP, The occurrence of metritis and metabolic diseases were greater in the over-10,000 kg group than in the under-l0,000 kg group. The over-10,000 kg group lost more body condition than the under-10,000 kg group from calving to month 3 postpartum. Nevertheless, reproductive performance did not differ between the two groups. These results indicate that reproductive performance can be improved by the application of RHHP in high yielding dairy herds and that reproductive performance in the cows under RHHP are not affected by high milk yielding.

      • Topography of the Submental Artery That Should Be Considered in Bleeding During Dentoalveolar Surgery

        ABSTRACT: The purpose of the present study was to provide precise data regarding the branching pattern of the submental artery, which should be considered in occasions of bleeding during various dentoalveolar surgical procedures of the mandible, such as implant surgeries, tori removal, and iatrogenic injuries.Twenty-six embalmed adult hemifaces from Korean cadavers were used in this study. The vertical distance, horizontal distance, and diameter of the submental artery were measured from the site of the first premolar to the third molar. In cases where there was penetration of the mylohyoid muscle by the main branches of the submental artery, the same items were measured at that point.The vertical distance between the submental artery and the inferior border of the mandible decreased toward the premolar, whereas the horizontal distance from the lingual plate of the mandible increased gradually as it traveled in the anterior direction. The diameter of the artery narrowed slightly toward the premolar. The main branches of the submental artery perforated the mylohyoid muscle in 14 (54%) of the 26 specimens.As a result of this study, the submental artery is located higher from the inferior border and closer to the lingual plate of the mandible in the region of the molar than that of the premolar. Therefore, clinicians should be more careful of bleeding when performing surgery in the molar region compared with the premolar region. Where the mylohyoid muscle is perforated by the main branches of the submental artery, its point of insertion can be observed in diverse locations.

        Preliminary Dosimetric Study of Proton Minibeam Radiation Therapy for the Treatment of Choroidal Melanoma

        This study aimed to evaluate dosimetrically the feasibility of saving both the lens and the ciliary body in the treatment of a choroidal melanoma by using spatially fractionated proton minibeams. A multi-slit brass collimator was designed by using Monte Carlo simulation data and was fabricated with a 0.4-mm beam opening and a 1.1-mm center-to-center distance. A phantom was also fabricated for proton beam dosimetry, involving five polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) plates of 2 mm and 8 mm thicknesses, respectively. The peak-to-valley dose ratio (PVDR) of the proton minibeams was used to validate the feasibility of lens and ciliary body sparing. The typical single-scattered proton beam for treating a patient with a choroidal melanoma was delivered to Gafchromic EBT3 films in the phantom after having passed through the multi-slit: the energy of proton beam was 60 MeV, and its depth dose profile was a full spread-out Bragg peak (SOBP). The average dose at mid-depth of the SOBP was approximately 3 CGE with ±3% of ripple. Dosimetric evaluation showed the PVDR depended on the air gap strongly. It varied from 3.4 to 1.1 in the air gap range from 2 mm to 62 mm. The PVDR values at PMMA depths of 2, 12, 22, and 32 mm were 2.0, 1.5, 1.1, and 1.06, respectively. This result shows that a spatially fractionated proton beam might save the lens and ciliary body seated at a shallow depth in the eye ball when a choroidal melanoma is treated using proton minibeam radiotherapy.

        MR Imaging in Endometrial Carcinoma as a Diagnostic Tool for the Prediction of Myometrial Invasion and Lymph Node Metastasis

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors that are associated with the accuracy of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for predicting myometrial invasion and lymph node metastasis in women with endometrial carcinoma.Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and preoperative MR imaging reports of 128 women who had pathologically proven endometrial carcinoma. We compared the MR imaging and the histopathology findings.Results: The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for identifing any myometrial invasion (superficial or deep) were 0.81, 0.61 and 0.74, respectively; these values for deep myometrial invasion were 0.60, 0.94 and 0.86, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MR imaging for detecting lymph node metastasis were 50.0%, 96.6% and 93.0%, respectively. The patients who were older, had more deliveries and a larger tumor size more frequently had incorrect prediction of deep myometrial invasion (p=0.034, p=0.044, p=0.061, respectively). A higher tumor grade, a histology other than the endometrioid type, myometrial invasion on MR findings and a larger tumor size were associated with a more frequent false-negative prediction of lymph node metastasis (p=0.018, p=0.017, p=0.002, p=0.047, respectively). A larger tumor size was also associated with more frequent false-positive results (p=0.009).Conclusions:There are several factors that make accurate assessment of myometrial invasion or lymph node metastasis difficult with using MRI; therefore, the patients with these factors should have their MR findings cautiously interpreted.
