1/f-LIKE FREQUENCY FLUCTUATION IN FRONTAL ALPHA WAVE AS AN INDICATOR OF EMOTION

There are two approaches in the study of emotion in the physiological psychology. The first is to clarify the brain mechanism of emotion, and the second is to evaluate objectively emotions using physiological responses along with our feeling experience. The method presented here belongs to the second one. Our method is based on the level-crossing point detection method. which involves the analysis of frequency fluctuations of EEG and is characterized by estimation of emotionality using coefficients of slopes in the log-power spectra of frequency fluctuation in alpha waves on both the left and right frontal lobe. In this paper we introduce a new theory of estimation on an individual`s emotional state by using our non-invasive and easy measurement apparatus.
Interrogative Feature Checking in Japanese and Korean

This paper discusses the feature checking mechanism of interrogative sentences in Japanese and Korean. We first focus on a phenomenon of omitting question markers in informal speech in Japanese and attempt to provide an account for it within the framework of Principles and Parameters approach. We argue that question markers can be omitted only if interrogative features of the sentence can be properly checked. In particular we claim that I-to-C head-movement is one of the options for interrogative feature checking in Japanese as well as languages without question markers. A close examination of Korean reveals certain differences between Korean and Japanese. Some theoretical consequences from this analysis are also discussed.

In this paper, I will report the cases of children who are able to study at kindergarten or elementary school because they learned how to move by themselves using a moving aid before school age, and I will also discuss the development of a mobility device which allows severely disabled preschoolers to practice moving around by themselves safely and easily at home and institutions.

최신 차수시설과 침출수 처리 시스템을 도입한 폐기물매립지의 사례연구

본 논문은 일본에서 최신 차수시설과 침출수 처리 시스템을 도입한 한 폐기물매립지에서의 사례연구를 다루고 있다. 우선, 차수 시스템에서, 표면차수시설로 이중차수시트, 자가치유시트, 손상감지물질을 포함하고 있는 7개의 층으로 된 구조물로 하였다. 경사지차수시설은 손상감지물질을 제외한 6개의 층으로 하였다. 다음으로 침출수 처리 시스템에서는 탈염처리장비를 채택하고, 미래에 필요할 경우 다이옥신 제거 장비를 설치할 것을 계획하고 있다. 이러한 방법으로 환경 보전에 대해 우선성을 둔 후 지역주민들이 수용할 수 있는 매립지를 조성할 수 있다. This paper reports a case on a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill site that introduced the latest liner facilities and the leachate treatment system in Japan. First, as for the liner system, it made the surface liner facility the structure of seven layers that contained double liner sheets, a self repaired sheet and a damaging detection material. It made the slope liner facility the structure of six layers that excluded the damaging detection material to it. Next, about the leachate treatment system, it adopted desalinization treatment equipment and it plans to install dioxin removal equipment if needed in the future. It becomes the landfill site that the local residents can accept after having priority over environmental preservation most in this way.
