A Study on the Characteristics Influencing Youth’s Problematic Gaming Behaviors

Based on the I-PACE model, the present study aimed to examine which characteristics influence the determination of problematic gaming behaviors risk group. Using data from the 2018 Internet Game Usage Survey, 3,317 adolescents from 4th grade to 12th grade were analyzed. Gender, personality, self-esteem, and interpersonal skills were used to verify which characteristics have significant influence on the determination of problematic gaming behaviors risk group. The results were as follows. First, gender, self-esteem, and leadership had a significant influence on the determination of youth problematic gaming behaviors risk group. For male students, the chances of being classified as the risk group increased. Also, the higher self-esteem, the less likely they were to be judged, and the higher leadership, the more likely they were to be judged as the risk group. Second, the results of subfactors of problematic gaming behaviors suggested that gender had a significant effect on all subfactors, with the rest of the personal characteristics showing different results for each sub-factor. These results presented practical advantages for planning and applying interventions for youths’ problematic gaming behaviors.
Clinical application of whole-genome sequencing of solid tumors for precision oncology

Genomic alterations in tumors play a pivotal role in determining their clinical trajectory and responsiveness to treatment. Targeted panel sequencing (TPS) has served as a key clinical tool over the past decade, but advancements in sequencing costs and bioinformatics have now made whole-genome sequencing (WGS) a feasible single-assay approach for almost all cancer genomes in clinical settings. This paper reports on the findings of a prospective, single-center study exploring the real-world clinical utility of WGS (tumor and matched normal tissues) and has two primary objectives: (1) assessing actionability for therapeutic options and (2) providing clarity for clinical questions. Of the 120 patients with various solid cancers who were enrolled, 95 (79%) successfully received genomic reports within a median of 11 working days from sampling to reporting. Analysis of these 95 WGS reports revealed that 72% (68/95) yielded clinically relevant insights, with 69% (55/79) pertaining to therapeutic actionability and 81% (13/16) pertaining to clinical clarity. These benefits include the selection of informed therapeutics and/or active clinical trials based on the identification of driver mutations, tumor mutational burden (TMB) and mutational signatures, pathogenic germline variants that warrant genetic counseling, and information helpful for inferring cancer origin. Our findings highlight the potential of WGS as a comprehensive tool in precision oncology and suggests that it should be integrated into routine clinical practice to provide a complete image of the genomic landscape to enable tailored cancer management.

<P>In this paper, we propose glass interposer electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure to efficiently suppress power/ground noise coupling. We designed, fabricated, measured, and analyzed a glass interposer EBG structure for the first time. Glass interposer EBG structure test vehicles were fabricated using a thin-glass substrate, low-loss polymer layers, and periodic metal patches with through glass vias (TGVs) in glass interposer power distribution network. Using the dispersion characteristics, we thoroughly analyzed and derived f(L) and f(U) of the glass interposer EBG structure. We experimentally verified that the proposed glass interposer EBG structure achieved power/ground noise suppression (below -40 dB) between f(L) of 5.8 GHz and f(U) of 9.6 GHz. Derived f(L) and f(U) based on dispersion analysis, full three-dimensional electromagnetic (3-D-EM) simulation and measurement achieved good correlation. In the glass interposer EBG structure, tapered structure of the TGV and thickness of the low-loss polymer used for metal-layers lamination affected the noise suppression bandgap significantly. The effectiveness of the proposed glass interposer EBG structure on suppression of the power/ground noise propagation and coupling to high-speed TGV channel was verified with 3-D-EM simulation. As a result, the proposed glass interposer EBG structure successfully and efficiently suppressed the power/ground noise propagation and improved eye-diagram of the high-speed TGV channel.</P>
Climate suitability for 12 species of quarantine fruit flies according to RCP 8.5 scenario in Korea

기존 발표된 CLIMEX 매개변수와 RCP 8.5 시나리오에서의 기후자료를 이용하여 우리나라 금지급 과실파리 12종의 국내에서의 향후 기후적합도를 산출하고 국내정착가능 여부를 평가하였다. 열대내지 아열대성인 Anastrepha ludens와 A.obliqua, Zeugodacus cucurbitae, Bactrocera latifrons, B.tryoni, Ceratitis capitata, C.rosa는 모두 2010년대에는 제주도 남부지방 또는 해안가 일부가 경계 지역으로써 정착 가능한 것으로 평가되었다. B.correcta와 B.zonata는 2010년대에 제주 산간을 제외한 전역과 남해안 극히 일부 지역이 경계 지역에 포함되며, B.zonata, B.latifrons의 경우 제주에 적절내지 최적 지역이 형성되었다. 중북부, 내륙에서 이들 종의 기후적합성이 부적절한 것은 주로 저온 스트레스에 의한 것으로써 지구 온난화에 의해 기온이 상승하면서 2090년대에는 경계지역 범위가 해안가를 따라 상승하였다. 한편, B.tsuneonis와 Rhagoletis pomonella는 온대성 과실파리로서 주된 스트레스 요인은 습윤 스트레스였다. B.tsuneonis 는 2010년대부터 국내 산간을 제외한 대부분 지역이 이들 종의 최적 지역에 포함되었으며 그 범위는 점점 확장되었다. R.pomonella는 국내 대부분 지역이 적절 지역으로 평가되나 2050년, 2090년대에는 제주도 산간을 중심으로 정착 부절절 지역의 면적이 확장되었다. 한편, R.indifferens는 국내 중부지역을 중심으로 한 중산간 지역이 경계내지 적절 기후로 평가되나 정착가능 면적은 점차로 좁아져 2090년대에는 산간 극히 일부지역만 경계 지역으로 포함되었다.

오리엔탈과실파리는 동남아시아에서 유래한 주요 검역해충으로써 북쪽으로 중국 본토, 인도의 고위도 지역 및 중국남부의 고지대까지 그 범위가 확산되고 있다. 우리는 오리엔탈과실파리의 알려진 분포와 계절적 발생동향, 확산경로로부터 오리엔탈과실파리가 월동가능한 상한선을 결정하였다. 이 상한선으로부터 CLIMEX의 종 매개변수를 결정하고 RCP8.5 기후변화 시나리오를 따르는 국내 미래 기후도를 이용하여 오리엔탈과실파리에 대한 향후 우리나라 의 기후적합성을 검정하였다. 국내에서의 기후적합성의 검토는 이 해충의 잠재적인 정착능력과 영향에 대한 중요한 정보를 제공한다.
Evaluation of Poly(lactic-co-glycolic Acid) Plate and Screw System for Bone Fixation

ABSTRACT: In this study, we investigated the efficacy and safety of the recently developed modifiable bioabsorbable plates and screws, which are made of PLGA [poly(lactic-co-glycolic acids)]. An in vitro extract test and a mammalian erythrocyte micronucleus test revealed that neither cytotoxicity nor genotoxicity was observed with the plates and screws tested in this study. An in vivo mandible fracture model in rabbit was introduced to evaluate the in vivo efficacy and of the PLGA-based plates and screws. At 4, 6, 8, and 10 weeks after implantation, tissue specimens were taken from the implanted sites of the rabbits and a histologic analysis was performed for each of the specimens. After 4 weeks, the plate was covered by connective tissues and severe chronic active inflammation in soft tissue was observed. After 6 weeks, the inflammation decreased and some of the specimens exhibited new bone formation around the periosteum. After 8 and 10 weeks, new bone formation was observed with all samples, where almost no severe inflammation was involved, implying the healing of the fracture. Given these, it can be suggested that the biodegradable plate and screw system that we evaluated in this study is effective for treatment of mandible fracture, one of the regions under a high load-bearing condition. The adjustment process and the long-term follow-up study are in progress for clinical application of the plate and screw system introduced in this study.
식물정유의 실내 총부유 곰팡이에 대한 생장 억제 활성 평가

본 연구에서는 시중에서 상업적으로 시판되고 있는 10가지의 정유제품을 구입하여 일반주택과 목조주택의 실내 총부유 곰팡이를 채집하여 이들의 생장억제효과를 관찰하였다. 항곰팡이 활성억제실험은 디스크분무법을 변형하여 실시하였다. 채집된 총부유 곰팡이에 각각 10, 30, 50 μl 의 정유를 처리하고 7℃에서 5일간 배양하였다. 실험에 사용된 정유는 기체크로마토그래피와 질량분석기 (GC-MS)를 통하여 그들의 주요 성분을 분석하였다. 실험결과 <Extra herbal oil (EHO)>, <Siang pure oil formular 1 (SPOF1)>, <citriodora> 정유가 다른 정유에 비하여 총부유 곰팡이의 생장을 현저히 억제하는 것으로 관찰되었다. 또한 GC-MS 분석결과 이들의 주요성분으로서 <EHO>는 methyl salicylate (39.6%) 가 <SPOF1>은 menthol (48.3%)이 그리고 <citriodora>는 (+)-citronellal (52.0%)가 주요 성분임을 밝혓다. 항곰팡이 활성이 적은 정유들은 그들의 주요성분이 diethyl phthalte 임을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 상업적으로 시판되고 있는 정유들중에서 실내 총부유 곰팡이의 생장을 억제하는 것들이 있으나 몇몇 제품은 소비자가 알 수 없는 인공적인 화학약품이 함유되어 있어 그 효과가 없다는 것을 확인하였다. In this research, 10 commercial EOs were investigated to evaluate the growth inhibitory activity on indoor airborne microfungi, collected in general houses and wooden houses. The antifungal activity was evaluated by disc volatilization method. Each EO was treated at 10, 30, and 50 μl each, and incubated upside down at 27℃ for 5 days. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis was performed to identify the major components of the each EO. The result shows that <Extra herbal oil (EHO)>, <Siang pure oil formular 1 SPOF1)>, and <citriodora> EO has significantly higher growth inhibitory activity than other EOs. GC-MS analysis revealed that the major component of these three EO by methyl salicylate (39.6%) for <EHO>, menthol (48.3%) for <SPOF1>, (+)-citronellal (52.0%) for <citriodora>. EOs with low antifungal activity were revealed that they contain artificial chemical, diethyl phthalte as a main component.
