Background: Ginseng (Panax ginseng Meyer) is an important medicinal herbs in Asia. However, ginsengvarieties are less developed. Method: To developed ginseng varieties, a pure line selection method was applied in this study. Results: Gumpoong was testing of 4-yr-old specimens in 2002, the proportions of the below-groundroots that were rusty colored for Gumpoong was 1.29 in Daejeon and 1.45 in Eumseong, whereas theproportions for its yellow berry variant were 2.60 and 2.45 in the two regions, respectively. Thus theGumpoong was resistant to root rust. Sunpoong has a high yielding property. Its average root weight is70.6 g for 6-yr-old roots. Its yield is 2.9 kg/1.62m2 and the rate of heaven- and earth-grade product is20.9%, which is very high compared to 9.4% for Yunpoong. Sunone is resistance to root rot and thesurvival rate of 4-yr-old roots was 44.4% in 1997, whereas that of the violet-stem variant landrace was21.7%. Sunhyang has content of arginyl-fructosyl-glucose (AFG), which produces the unique scent of redginseng, is 95.1 mmol/g and greater than the 30.8 mmol/g of Chunpoong in 6-yr-old plants. Sunun andCheongsun are being nurtured to protect genetic resources. Conclusion: Developed ginsneg varieties will be used as the basis for the protection of genetic resourcesand breeding. Jang-Ho Lee

Co-segregation of male fertility with DNA markers selected by RAPD analysis as being potentially linked to the restorer gene (Rf) for Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) was analyzed using segregating F2 population. One RAPD marker directly linked to the Rf locus was identified. Amplification of OPT-02/570 using the STS primers generated a monomorphic band of each fertile plants randomly selected F2 progenies. From these results, this specific marker would be strongly linked to be restoring gene. The use of STS marker is effective in overcoming the reliability of the RAPD phenotype and improving their utility for MAS, co-dominant STS markers are especially very useful.

1. 목적 급성백혈병의 화학요법에 있어서 관해유도 요법시에 보다 더 강력한 항암화학요법을 시행하고 골수억제의 회복을 위하여 말초혈액에서 채취한 조혈모세포의 투여로 그 효과를 증대시키고자 시도하였다. 2. 방법 관해유도 화학요법후에 골수억제시기로부터 회복단계로서 백혈구감소증이 호전도면서 단핵세포가 증가될 때에 말초혈액에서 조혈간세포(stem cell)로 인정되고 있는 CD34+세포의 함유량이 1% 이상되는 시기를 찾아내고 그 때부터 평균 4차례의 단핵구를 분리채집을 하여 -74。C에 냉동보관하였다가 제2차 화학요법후에 해동시켜서 정맥주입하였다. 3. 결과 대상 급성백혈병환자는 6명에 23회의 조혈간세포를 함유한 단핵구 채집을 시행하였고 유효한 단핵구의 채집은 4례에서 가능하였고 2례에서는 유효한 채집이 못되었다. 채집효율은 39.0-74.5%로서 평균 49.8%였다. 채집 후에 혈액학적 변화는 혈색소의 약간 감소 (평균 1.34g/dl)와 혈소판의 감소 (평균20.25%)를 나타내었다. 해동 단핵구를 투여할시에 일과성인 불쾌감, 기침, 흉부압박감, 호흡곤란 등이 있었다. 4. 결론 자가골수이식에서 자기말초혈액조혈간세포이식으로 관심이 이행되는 현시점에 자가조혈간세포를 채집하여 수혈하는 기술이 확립되는 기초를 이루었다고 본다. 이번 대상들은 재발된 금성백혈병들에 시행하였으나, 향후에는 초발시에 제일차 관해유도 화학요법 과정에 시도해야할 것으로 생각한다. Object: Peripheral blood stem cells(PBSC) were collected after remission induction chemotherapy and reinfused after intensified chemotherapy in order to increase the chemotherapeutic efficacy. Method: Collection of mononuclear cells (MNC) was started when CD34+ cells above 1% and WBC above 1,000/ul with mononuclear cell percentage above 30%, the collection procedures were done 2-6 time in each patient of total 6 cases. The collected MNCs were stored in - 750C and reinfused after thawing in the water bath at 370C Results: Twenty three collection procedures from the 6 cases of acute leukemia had made effective MNC collection in 4 cases and mean collection efficiency was 49.8%(from 39.0% to 74.5%). Hematological changes after the procedure were mean reduction of hemoglobin 1.34g/dl and mean 20.25% of decreased platelet count. There were noticed transient symptoms of discomfort, coughing, chest tightness and dyspnea in association with the infusion of stored cells. Conclusion: The basic process for the peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT) was accomplished with this supportive care for the consolidation chemotherapy of acute leukemia. Infectious in vivo Transcripts from a Full-length Clone of Soybean mosaic virus Strain G5H

An infectious full-length clone of Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) strain G5H was constructed under the control of the cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter. The cloned SMV G5H established infections upon simple rub-inoculation of soybean leaves with intact plasmid DNA. We demonstrated that this SMV G5H infectious DNA clone caused typical characteristic symptoms and virulence of SMV strain G5H in twelve tested soybean cultivars. Soybean cultivars Lee74, Somyungkong and Sowonkong developed systemic mosaic symptom while Kwanggyo, Taekwangkong, Hwangkeumkong and Geumjeongkong-l showed systemic necrosis. In contrast, Geumjeongkong-2, Jinpumkong-2, L29, V94-5152 and Ogden showed resistant response against SMV-G5H infection. We also determined full-length sequence of cloned SMV-G5H. The phyogenetic analyses reveal that SMV-G5H is most closely related to SMV-G5, and support that SMV-G5H might be derived from SMV-G5 by recombination rather than mutation.

현재 의료진단, 화학공정의 모니터링이나 환경공학적 감시 및 제어 등의 분야에서 사용되고 있는 기존의 센서는 고가이며 용적이 클 뿐만 아니라 분석시간이 길고 사용하기 까다로운 것 등 여러 가지 문제점이 있다. 또한 측정환경에 영향을 주지 않을 만큼 충분히 작으며 빠른 분석시간을 가진 센서를 필요로 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 센서들의 난점을 극복할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 FET형 전해질(electrolyte : H^+, K^+, Ca^2+, Na^+)분석 시스템, 용존가스(O_2, CO_2)분석 시스템의 개발을 중점적으로 추진하며, FET형 압력센서, 습도센서, 방사형 온도센서 등의 개별 FET형 센서에 관한 연구도 병행하고자 한다. Recently various kinds of sensors have been developed, being applicated to their own purpose. There are lots of difficulties to apply them to measurements in which the real-time monitoring is required without disturbing the surrounding environment. FET type semiconductor sensors, fabricated by the semiconductor integration technologies, have many advantages for their miniaturization, standardization, mass-production and in vivo/in situ monitoring. They also hold a very proper configuration for multi-functional sensors or integrated smart sensors, and wide availability by forming various kinds of physical or chemical sensing materials onto their sensing gates.
조깅과 중량운동의 혼합 운동 프로그램이 에너지 소비량에 미치는 영향

Since any exercise program is related with health, we cannot but take into consideration the efficiency of fat consumption. This study was aimed at determining the effects of the exercise programs combining jogging and weight training on nutrient-wise energy consumption in order to facilitate consumption of fat during exercise. To this end, 10 male students attending department of sports science of T University located in Incheon were sampled to be subject to exercise programs combining jogging and weight training. The subjects were urged to do weight training before jogging or vice versa. Then, intake of oxygen and output of carbon dioxide were measured after each session to analyze the amount of carbohydrate and fat based on the breathing exchange rate. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; There was found no significant difference of oxygen and calorie consumption between two exercise programs, but carbohydrate was more consumed by weight training after jogging, while fat was more consumed by jogging after weight training. During rest after exercise, more oxygen, carbohydrate, fat and calorie were consumed when weight training followed jogging, and during recovery time, more oxygen, carbohydrate, fat and calories were consumed when jogging followed weight training.

본 연구의 목적은 투자자들이 주요 경제교류국의 주가변동을 주가예측에 활용할 수 있는 지를 검증하여 투자자에게 유용한 투자정보를 제공하는 데에 있다. 주요국가로는 우리나라 경제와 주요한 연관성을 갖고 있는 미국, 일본 및 중국을 선택하였다. 검증 모형으로는 VAR 모형을 기반으로 한 그랜저(Granger) 인과관계 분석 및 충격반응분석과 분산분해를 실시하여 각국 주가 수익률간의 관련성을 살펴보았다. 분석 결과 우리나라 시장은 미국시장에 상당한 영향을 받고 있음을 확인하였다. 미국 시장과 일본 시장 간의 관계는 일본시장이 우리나라 보다 더 오래전부터 미국시장의 영향을 크게 받고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 과거에는 발견되지 않던 미국 주식시장 변동의 영향이 중국시장의 개혁개방정책이 가속된 2005년 이후부터 나타나고 있다는 것을 확인하였다. The purpose of this study is to provide domestic and foreign investors, researchers, and government policy makers with valuable information by analysing the relationship between stock markets of Korea, the U.S.A. China, and Japan. Previous studies focused on major countries's influence on Korea. However this study included not only major countries's influence on Korea, but also one's influence on the other countries. This study involved a comprehensive empirical investigation of extensive sets of data on daily stock prices of Korea, the U.S.A. China, and Japan listed on the stock markets of each countries from January, 1996 to June, 2008. The sample period was divided into three sub-periods to examine the changes of one country's influences on the other countries. While previous studies employed opening prices or closing prices of two countries, this study employed not only opening prices or closing prices of two countries but also opening price of one countries and closing price of the other countries to investigate the one country's influences on the other country. The statistical techniques used for measuring one's influence on the other countries‘s stock markets included Unit Root Test, Vector Auto-regression test, Augmented Dickey-Fuller Test, Granger test, and Co-integration Test. After testing the hypothesis, that one country's stock market's influence on the other stock markets, the following results were obtained: (1) The American stock market's influence on Korea was significant. It's influence getting stronger at the third sub-period. That seemed to the influence of the liberalization and internalization of the korean capital market. (2) The American stock market's influence on Japan had existed before the American stock market's influence on Korea existed. (3) The American stock market's influence on China did not exist at first and second sub-period but it appeared after 2005 when China accelerated it's liberalization and internalization policy. (4) Korea, China, and Japan's influence were not significant. They did not influence on one another. (5) The ending stock prices of Korea and Japan influence on the American opening stock prices. That's because there exist lag time between Korea, Japan and America. Investors can use the above information in investing stocks in these countries. Especially, investors can predict stock market's movement of China based on the movement of the American stock market.

A general study on the upgrading of mica minerals which are mainly found in pegmatite deposits was carried out for the purpose of developing a technique for recovering mica in form of comercial grade products. By the way the grade one of about 5∼6% K2O still is not developed. The target of this research work is to be establish a process for the efficient concentration of muscovite, containing more than 10% K2O. The tests are applied to incraese the recovery and grade of concentrates in term of variations of conditions. The test sample consists of mainly muscovite and gangue mineral such as quartz, pyrite and chlorite. Decantation and shaking table tests were ineffective to up-grade this low grade one, but flotation method gave satisfactory result. By means of grade one, but flotation method gave satisfactory result. By means of grindability tests, an optimum result could be obtained from the sample ground to -48mesh feed size. The flotation result indicates that the dodecyl ammonium chloride used as a cationic collector is effective on the negatively charged surface, while the sodium dodecyl sulfate as an anionic collector is effective on the positively charged surface. Muscovite was floated by petroleum sulfonate as well as amine type collector, it also floated by MIBC as well as pine oil frother under well condition. Fine muscovite concentrates of about 10.68% K2O was obtained with 22.4% yield, by decantation, the muscovite concentrates of 10.10% K2O was obtained with 23.54% yield, by table concentration, the muscovite concentrates of 11.51% K2O was obtained with 23.0% yield by flotation.
