저압 기상 영역에서 Anhydrous HF 가스와 Methanol vapor를 사용하는 산화막 식각공정을 수행하기 위하여 (1) 반응기 부피의 최소화, (2) 공정압력의 최소화, (3) 고순도 알루미나 Reactor 적용, (4) Cluster화의 개념을 적용한 VPC 장치를 제작하였다.Wafer의 온도, HF의 분압 및 Working Pressure 등의 공정변수에 따른 Oxide Wafer의 식각특성의 변화를 확인하였다 또한 Etch Uniformity를 향상시키기 위하여 Shower Head의 구조를 변경시켜서 실험하였으며, CFD Simulation을 이용하여 Reactor 내에서의 HF gas 및 Methanol vapor의 분율을 예측하였다.

<P>This paper demonstrates the principle of the nanoparticle-contrast-agent-enabled terahertz imaging (CATHI) technique, which yields a dramatic sensitivity of the differential signal from cancer cells with nanoparticles. The terahertz (THz) reflection signal increased beam by 20% in the cancer cells with nanoparticles of gold nano-rods (GNRs) upon their irradiation with a infrared (IR) laser, due to the temperature rise of water in cancer cells by surface plasma ploritons. In the differential mode, the THz signal from the cancer cells with GNRs was 30 times higher than that from the cancer cells without GNRs. As the high sensitivity is achieved by the surface plasmon resonance through IR laser irradiation, the resolution of the CATHI technique can be as good as a few microns and THz endoscopy becomes more feasible.</P>

In this study, the degradation of toluene by lab-scale biofilter inoculated with pseudomonas putida DK-1 was investigated with variation of the several environmental parameters, such as temperature, bed length, residence time (gas flow rate), concentration and optimal humidity zone. Removal efficiency increased as the operating temperature increased and the optimal temperature range to treat toluene gas was found to be 32-35℃. The effect of gas flow rate on toluene degradation was investigated at different gas flow rates of 20-100 ㎖/min. Increasing the gas flow rate showed an inverse effect on the elimination rate (ER) and the removal efficiency (RE). The removal efficiency was roughly constant and consequently the biodegradation rate was independent of concentration of toluene at the inlet load lower than 251 g/㎥. The optimal humidity dominance zone (40-60%) increased as bed length increased. The biodegradation rate of the toluene with respect to the bed length (3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 ㎝) increased up to 80 h but was then independent of the bed length after 80 h except for the 3 ㎝ bed length.

<P>We demonstrate a highly sensitive THz molecular imaging (TMI) technique involving differential modulation of surface plasmons induced on nanoparticles and obtain target specific in vivo images of cancers. This technique can detect quantities of gold nanoparticles as small as 15 µM in vivo. A comparison of TMI images with near infrared absorption images shows the superior sensitivity of TMI. Furthermore, the quantification property of TMI is excellent, being linearly proportional to the concentration of nanoparticles. The target specificity issue is also addressed at the ex vivo and cell levels. The high thermal sensitivity of TMI can help extend photonic-based photothermal molecular imaging researches from the in vitro level to the in vivo level. The TMI technique can be used for monitoring drug delivery processes and for early cancer diagnosis.</P>

Anhydrous HF 가스와 CH₃OH vapor 를 사용하여 저압의 기상영역에서 산화막 식각공정을 수행할 수 있는 장치 기술을 개발하기 위하여, 기제작된 VPC 장치를 활용하여 산화막 식각공정 연구를 진행하였다. VPC 장비에서 가스 Flow시의 Chamber 내의 압력 변화를 측정하였으며, TC Wafer를 이용한 Wafer 상의 온도 Uniformity 측정하였다. 또한 RF-Plasma Generation 테스트를 실시하였다. 그리고 Oxide Wafer Etching 실험을 etching time, wafer 종류, 압력 등 여러 조건을 변화시켜 가면서 수행하였다. 또한 Etch Uniformity 를 향상시키기 위하여 Shower Head의 구조를 변경시켜서 실험하였으며, 컴퓨터 Simulation 을 이용하여 Reactor 내에서의 HF gas 및 CH3OH vaper의 분율을 예측하였다.
초임계 유체를 이용한 PLGA 입자 제조에 첨가제가 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 초임계 aerosol solvent extraction system(ASES) 공정을 이용하여 poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) 미립자를 제조하기 위해 첨가제로 hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD)를 사용하였으며, HP-β-CD의 첨가량이 PLGA 입자의 형상에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 또한 항암제인 파클리탁셀이 봉입된 미립자를 제조하여 HP-β-CD의 함량에 따른 약물 방출 특성의 변화를 고찰하였다. PLGA(75:25)의 경우 HP-β-CD를 고분자 중량대비 약 40%까지, PLGA(50:50)의 경우 약 30%까지 첨가하였을 때 미립자가 형성되었으며, HP-β-CD의 첨가량이 이보다 더 적은 경우에는 PLGA가 필름 형태로 형성되었다. 파클리탁셀이 봉입된 PLGA/HP-β-CD 미립자의 경우 HP-β-CD의 함량이 증가함에 따라 더 빠른 속도로 약물이 방출됨을 확인할 수 있었다. In this study, we employed hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) as an excipient to produce poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) fine particles by a supercritical fluid process, called aerosol solvent extraction system (ASES), and investigated the effect of HP-β-CD content on the morphology of the particles. The influence of HP-β-CD on the drug release characteristics of paclitaxel-loaded PLGA particles was also evaluated. Fine particles were obtained when the HP-β-CD content in PLGA/HP-β-CD mixtures was greater than 40% and 30%, respectively, for PLGA(75:25) and PLGA(50:50), whereas a film-like precipitate was obtained for lower HP-β-CD content. The release rate for paclitaxel loaded PLGA(75:25)/HP-β-CD particles was found to increase with HP-β-CD content.

<P>We fabricated <I>de novo</I> biocompatible mineral plasmon resonants for localized and systemic treatment of cancer. Biodegradable calcium-phosphate gold nanocomposites were synthesized for inducing a superior surface plasmon resonance effect. The combination of therapeutic antibody, Erbitux<SUP>®</SUP> and NIR laser with nanocomposites demonstrated the potential for selective bimodal cancer treatment by combination of EGFR-induced signaling inhibition as a systemic treatment and localized photothermal effects caused by the NIR laser.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>De novo smart calcium-phosphate gold nanocomposites as superior surface plasmon resonants are developed for localized photothermal and systemic treatment of epithelial cancer. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=b822835c'> </P>
