Recently, in the competitive environments, every company recognizes the importance of the control architecture for production system. Manufacturing has been evolving over the years as different needs and technologies arise. Information systems have become the nerve center of most manufacturing system. The Supply Chain is a worldwide network of suppliers, factories, warehouses, distribution centers, and retailers through which raw materials are acquired, transformed, and delivered to customers. Partnership quality has been considered important to optimize performance of Supply Chain Management. But the dynamics of the enterprise and the market make this difficult, for example, materials do not arrive on time, production facilities fail, workers are ill, customers change or cancel order, and so forth, causing deviations from the plan. In this paper, we develop a control architecture for production system. Then, using the simulation technique with Arena Professional Edition, we proposes a effective evaluation method for production systems.
Laparoscopic total extraperitoneal repair of lumbar hernia

Lumbar hernia is a rare surgical entity without a standard method of repair. With advancements in laparoscopic techniques, successful lumbar herniorrhaphy can be achieved by the creation of a completely extraperitoneal working space and secure fixation of a wide posterior mesh. We present a total extraperitoneal laparoendoscopic repair of lumbar hernia, which allowed for minimal invasiveness while providing excellent anatomical identification, easy mobilization of contents and wide secure mesh fixation. A total extraperitoneal method of lumbar hernia repair by laparoscopic approach is feasible and may be an ideal option.
Laparoscopic treatment for post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome

The remnant cystic duct or gallbladder neck calculus may rarely result in post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome. Various managements have been proposed for the treatment of post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome. Some previous cases of post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome have been managed with open cholecystectomy and endoscopically. We report a case of a laparoscopic stone removal of post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome that developed 7 months after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. To our knowledge, this is the first case of laparoscopic management of post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome. The mechanism, diagnosis and treatment of post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome are discussed.
Neuroprotective Effects of Berberine in Neurodegeneration Model Rats Induced by Ibotenic Acid

Berberine, an isoquinoline alkaloid found in Coptidis Rhizoma(goldenthread) extract, has multiple pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anti-ischemic effects. In the present study, we examined the effects of berberine on neuronal survival and differentiation in a hippocampal precursor cell line and in the memory deficient rat model. Berberine increased in a dose dependent manner the survival of hippocampal precursor cells as well as differentiated cells. In addition, berberine promoted neuronal differentiation of hippocampal precursor cells. In the memory deficient rat model induced by stereotaxic injection of ibotenic acid into entorhinal cortex(Ibo model), hippocampal cells were increased about 2.7 fold in the pyramidal layer of CA1 region and about 2 fold in the dentate gyrus by administration of berberine after 2 weeks of ibotenic acid injection. Furthermore, neuronal cells immunoreactive to calbindin were increased in the hippocampus and entorhinal cortex area by administration of berberine. Taken together, these results suggest that berberine has neuroprotective effect in the Ibo model rat brain by promoting the neuronal survival and differentiation.

TSH secreting pituitary adenoma is a rare disorder and represents about 1% of all pituitary adenomas. About 80 cases have so far been reported. We experienced four cases of TSH secreting pituitary adenoma. Three of them were macroadenomas and 1 was microadenoma. Serum TSH levels varied between 4.1~185.6 uIU/ml. The serum -subunit levels of two patients tested were slightly elevated (0.87, 0.96 mIU/ml). Serum TSH and -subunit response to TSH, dexamethasone, T3, bromocriptine, and octreotide were variable when studied. Three patients underwent transsphenoidal microsurgery. One of them received radiotherapy. They were cured. Treatment with octreotide in 1 patient who did not received surgery resulted in normalization of serum TSH and thyroid hormone levels and reduction in tumor size. Aims: Most important concern in living donor liver transplantation is donor safety. At the same time, pure laparoscopic donor hepatectomy is being increasingly performed in experienced center although technical difficulties. The aim of this study was to introduce usefulness of selective liver parenchymal hanging maneuver and rubber band retraction technique for pure laparoscopic donor hepatectomy. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed perioperative data from 19 patients who underwent pure laparoscopic donor hepatectomy. In all procedure, after mobilization of liver, liver parenchymal Transection plane was straightly exposed using rubber band retraction technique. silastic drain for hanging maneuver was pulled up behind the hepatic hilum for the selective liver parenchymal hanging maneuver. after parenchyma transaction was completed, graft side bile duct, hepatic artery and portal vein was divided. hepatic vein ligated and divided using endo GIA. Graft liver was procured via transverse suprapubic incision. Results: The overall median operation time was 351 min (range 280-482 min), and the volume of blood loss was 412 mL (150- 600 mL). The warm ischemic time was 10 min (7-17 min). A conversion to open procedure and more than grade III complication according to the Clavien-Dindo classification was not occurred. Conclusions: selective liver parenchymal hanging maneuver and rubber band retraction technique is easy to apply and leads to successful pure laparoscopic procedure for donor hepatectomy. Our results demonstrate the safety and feasibility of this technique.

<P>Salmonellosis is a major bacterial zoonosis that causes a variety of disease syndromes, from self-limiting enteritis to fatal infection in animals and food-borne infection and typhoid fever in humans. Recently, the emergence of multidrug-resistant strains of <I>Salmonella</I> sp. has caused more serious problems in public health. The present study investigated the antibacterial effects of <I>Houttuynia cordata</I> water extract (HCWE) against murine salmonellosis. In RAW 264.7 cells, there was no detectable cytotoxic effect of HCWE at any concentration between 25 and 100 μg/ml after 8-h incubation. The antibacterial activity of HCWE was then examined in a <I>Salmonella enterica</I> serovar (<I>Salmonella typhimurium</I>), and was found to increase in a dose-dependent manner at concentrations from 25 to 100 μg/ml during 8-h incubation. HCWE also affected RAW 264.7 cells including morphologic change and bacterial uptake, but there was no significant difference in bacterial replication in RAW 264.7 cells. With HCWE alone, nitric oxide (NO) production by RAW 264.7 cells did not increase, but when RAW 264.7 cells were infected by <I>S. typhimurium</I>, with or without HCWE, NO production with HCWE was 2-fold higher than that without HCWE. Treatment with HCWE did not affect inducible NO synthase (iNOS) mRNA expression by RAW 264.7 cells, but when RAW 264.7 cells with HCWE were infected by <I>S. typhimurium</I>, iNOS mRNA expression was increased during 8-h incubation. Furthermore, HCWE showed virulence reduction effects in <I>S. typhimurium</I>-infected BALB/c mice. After a lethal dose of <I>S. typhimurium</I>, the mortality rate in the HCWE untreated group was 100% at 7 d, but the HCWE 25, 50, and 100 μg/ml groups survived until 11, 17, and 23 d, respectively. These data suggest that HCWE is stable and beneficial in the treatment of bacterial infection including intracellularly replicating pathogens and may solve antimicrobial misuse and overuse.</P>
