        Regulation of interleukin-11 expression in ovulatory follicles of the rat ovary

        <P> The aim of the present study was to examine the regulation of interleukin (IL)-11 expression, as well as the role of IL-11, during ovulation in gonadotropin-primed immature rats. Injection of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG), followed by human CG (hCG) to induce superovulation stimulated expression of the Il11 gene in theca cells within 6 h, as revealed by northern blot and in situ hybridisation analyses. Real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction analysis showed that the IL-11 receptor, α subunit gene was expressed in granulosa and theca cells and that injection of hCG had no effect on its expression. IL-11 protein expression was stimulated in theca cells by hCG. LH-stimulated increases in Il11 mRNA levels in cultured preovulatory follicles were inhibited by protein kinase A and mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase inhibitors. Toll-like receptor (TLR) 2 and TLR4 were detected in preovulatory follicles, and the TLR4 ligand lipopolysaccharide, but not the TLR2 ligand Pam3Cys, increased Il11 mRNA levels in theca cells, but not in granulosa cells. Treatment of preovulatory follicles with IL-11 stimulated progesterone production and steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (Star) gene expression. Together, these results indicate that IL-11 in theca cells is stimulated by mitogen-activated protein kinase signalling and TLR4 activation, and increases progesterone production during ovulation. </P>

        The Lipopolysaccharide from Porphyromonas gingivalis Induces Vascular Permeability

        Porphyromonas gingivalis, one of the major periodontal pathogens, is implicated in the initiation and progression of periodontal disease. The initial stages of periodontal inflammation are accompanied by vascular hyperpermeability. In our present study, we report that the P. gingivalis lipopolysaccharide (LPS) increases the mRNA expression of interleukin-8 (IL-8), a major inducer of vascular permeability, in vascular endothelial cells. P. gingivalis LPS also stimulated the induction of IL-8 secretion in endothelial cells. The P. gingivalis LPS-induced expression of IL-8 was primarily modulated by nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB). P. gingivalis LPS significantly enhanced the vascular permeability both in vitro and in vivo, and a blockade of the IL-8 receptor decreased the P. gingivalis LPS-induced vascular permeability. Taken together, these results suggest that P. gingivalis LPS increases vascular permeability through the NF-κBdependent production of IL-8 in vascular endothelial cells.

        Ampelopsis japonica Makino Extract Inhibits the Inflammatory Reaction Induced by Pathogen-Associated Molecular Patterns in Epidermal Keratinocytes

        Background: Keratinocytes are the major cells in epidermis, providing barrier components such as cornified cells through the sophisticated differentiation process. In addition, keratinocytes exerts their role as the defense cells via activation of innate immunity. It has been known that pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) including double-strand RNA and nucleotides can provoke inflammatory reaction in keratinocytes. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of Ampelopsis japonica Makino extract (AE) on PAMPs-induced inflammatory reaction of keratinocytes. Methods: The effects of AE were determined using poly (I:C)-induced inflammation and imiquimod-induced psoriasiform dermatitis models. Results: In cultured keratinocytes, AE significantly inhibited poly(I:C)-induced expression of inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8 and tumor necrosis factor-α. AE significantly inhibited poly(I:C)-induced release of caspase-1 active form (p20), and down-regulated nuclear factor-κB signaling pathway. In imiquimod- induced psoriasiform dermatitis model, topical application of AE resulted in significant reduction of epidermal hyperplasia. Conclusion: These results suggest that AE may be a potential candidate for the treatment of skin inflam-mation. (Ann Dermatol 28(3) 352∼359, 2016)

        Comparison of Cytokine and Nitric Oxide Induction in Murine Macrophages between Whole Cell and Enzymatically Digested Bifidobacterium sp. Obtained from Monogastric Animals

        The principal objective of this study was to compare the effects of whole and hydrolyzed cells(bifidobacteria) treated with gastrointestinal digestive enzymes on the activation of cloned macrophages. Seven different strains of Bifidobacterium obtained from swine, chickens, and rats, were digested with pepsin followed by pancreatin and the precipitate (insoluble fraction) and supernatant (soluble fraction) obtained via centrifugation. The RAW 264.7 murine macrophages were incubated with either whole cells, the precipitate, or supernatant at various concentrations. Pronounced increases in the levels of nitric oxide (NO), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-12, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α were observed in the whole cells and precipitates, but these effects were less profound in the supernatants. The precipitates also evidenced a slight, but significant, inductive activity for NO and all tested cytokines, with the exception of TNF-α in the macrophage model as compared with the whole cells. By way of contrast, TNF-α production when cultured with whole cells (100 ng/ml) resulted in marked increases as compared with what was observed with the precipitates. The results of this study indicated, for the first time, that digested Bifidobacterium sp. can induce the production of NO and several cytokines in RAW 264.7 murine macrophage cells. In the current study, it was demonstrated that Bifidobacterium strains treated with digestive enzymes, as compared with whole cells, are capable of stimulating the induction of macrophage mediators, which reflects that they may be able to modulate the gastrointestinal immune functions of the host.

        본 연구에서는 정보통신분야 국가기술 자격증 취득과 정보통신전공학생들의 취업률증진을 위한 방안을 제시하고 그 결과를 고찰하였다. 국가기술자격증 취득방안으로는 동기부여, 특강별로 한 과목씩 단계적인 강의 등의 방법을 제시하였고, 취업률 증진 방안으로는 학생수준에 맞는 업체선정지고, 취업자료 수집, 업체방문 등의 방법을 제시하였다. 연구결과는 업체의 요구조건은 공통적으로 어학증명서와 기술자격증으로서 대기업에 취업하기 위해서는 어학실력이 좋아야 하며 따라서 TOEIC등의 시험을 적극 권장할 필요가 있음을 보여준다. This paper examines a plan for acquiring a technical qualification and promoting the percentage of employment in Information & Communication Engineering Major. As a plan for acquiring a technical qualification, study methods of a motive allowance, step lesson of a curriculum etc. are presented. Also, as a plan for promoting the percentage of employment, study methods of a collection of employment data, company visit etc. are presented. Results of study show that companys require a technical qualification and a certificate of foreign language, so TOEIC should be recommended.

      • 조갑진균증에서 Ciclopirox Nail Lacquer의 치료효과

        배경 및 목적:조갑진균증의 치료에 있어 국소용 항진균제는 조갑판을 통과하지 못하기 때문에 치료율이 낮은 것으로 알려졌으나 최근 조갑판을 통과하여 조상에서도 높은 치료농도를 유지할 수 있는 국소용 항진균제인 ciclopirox nail lacquer가 개발되었다. 이에 본 저자들은 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer 단독 도포의 조갑진균증에서의 치료 효과와 안전성을 알아 보기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 방법:표적 조갑판의 감염된 면적의 비율이 50%이하인 경증의 조갑진균증 환자 27명을 평가 대상으로 하였으며 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer 1일 1회 도포요법으로 6개월간 치료하였다. 매 방문시마다 감염면적 비율을 기록하였고 치료 전과 치료 후 진균 검사를 시행하였다. 결과: 1)표적조갑판의 감염 면적이 치료 전 평균 28.9%에서 치료 종료시 4.7%로 통계적으로 유의하게 감소하였다(p<0.001). 2)KOH 직접 도말 검사와 진균 배양 검사에서 모두 음성인 진균학적 완치율은 치료 종료시 77.8%였다. 3)부작용으로는 3명(11.1%)에서 일시적 작열감, 조갑 감입 등을 호소하였다. 결론:경증의 조갑진균증 치료에 있어 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer는 비교적 좋은 치료 효과를 보이며 부작용이 적은 약제로 생각된다. Background: Topical antifungal agents have been ineffective in the treatment of onychomycosis because they could not reach the infected nail bed. 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer is a new topical antimycotic which is characterized by excellent penetration into the nail plate. We performed a study to assess the therapeutic efficacy and safety of 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer in the treatment of onychomycosis. Methods: We assessed 27 onychomycotic patients whose affected area of target nail plate was not more than 50%. The patients were instructed to apply 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer once daily and evaluated monthly for 6 months. Mycological examinations were done before and after the treatment. Overall efficacy, tolerability, cosmetic acceptance and adverse effects were assessed at the end of 6 months' treatment. Results: The mean percentage of affected area decreased from 28.9% to 4.7%. Mycological cure rate was 77.8% at the end of the treatment. Overall efficacy assessed by physician and patients were similar and evaluated as complete cure in 48% and 44%, respectively. Tolerability and cosmetic acceptance were excellent or good in most of the patients. No systemic adverse effects were found, but 3 patients complained of mild prickling sensation or ingrowing toe nail. Conclusions: These data suggest that 8% ciclopirox nail lacquer is safe and effective in the treatment of mild onychomycosis.

        신경망과 퍼지 알고리즘을 이용한 유출수문곡선 예측

        To develop the forecasting model on hydrologic rainfall-runoff process, this fuzzy theory is applied in this study, that is the mathematical theory to process ambiguity and the neural network theory, that is applied human's empirical thinking to mathematical process. As the result of applying neural network theory, the model of linear-linear, linear-nonlinear in the transfer function and the model applying fuzzy theory showed the excellent expectation that a coefficient of determination is over 0.97, percent error of maximum flow is less 10%. This result showed that neural network and fuzzy theory have excellent applicability in the flood forecasting. And this study expect that neural network and fuzzy theory can be used as the approach to settle problems being occurred in the course of rainfall-runoff modeling.

        The structure of the turbulent wall layer developing into flow separation was studied. The experiments were performed to find out the formation of turbulent separation lead to diverging of the diffuser wall in a two-dimensional asymmetric diffuser which was attached to a downstream end of a long straight channel to provide a fully-developed turbulent inlet condition. First report, this is to estimate how to develop the region of the separation in the smooth diffuser wall with diverging condition and then is the reference on the characteristics of rough diffuser wall being under discussion at second report. As a result, static pressure profile of the fixed wall are in accord with the static pressure profire of the movable wall. Separation has broken out at the diffuser open angle θ=7o, while the diffuser openingangle is increasing, the region of the separation is advanced at the upstream and separation appears at the diffuser open angle θ=12o in the fixed wall too.

        학교 직업교육이 장애인의 취업 및 임금에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 학교에서 제공하는 직업교육 프로그램이 실제 장애인의 졸업 후 취업과 임 금에 영향을 미치는지 여부를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 장애인고용패널 2008년도 데이터 를 사용하여 분석을 수행하였다. 장애인의 특성을 인구학적 변인, 노동환경 변인, 인적자 원변인으로 나누어 학교 직업교육여부에 따른 취업효과와 임금효과를 로지스틱 회귀분석 과 다중회귀분석을 통해 수행하였으며, 그 결과 학교 직업교육의 취업효과와 임금효과는 나타나지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 통제변수의 경우 남성이며 기혼이고 청각장애일수록, 장애가 경증일수록, 건강상태가 좋으며, 중소도시와 농어촌에 거주할 경우 취업률이 높아 지는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 장애정도에 따라 직업교육의 효과가 다르게 나타날 수 있으 므로 직업교육 및 장애유형과 장애정도의 상호작용항을 삽입한 결과 직업교육과 장애등 급과의 상호작용항이 취업여부에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 임금효과를 알 아보기 위한 다중회귀분석에서도 학교 직업교육 이수 여부에 따른 임금효과는 유의미하 지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 통제변수의 경우 인구학적 특성으로는 성별, 결혼여부, 장애등 급, 건강상태가, 노동환경 특성으로는 사업체 근로자수와 정규직 여부가, 인적자본 특성 으로는 경력과 자격증보유여부가 임금에 유의미한 영향력이 있는 변인으로 나타났다. This study examined the effect of the vocational Education on the probability of obtaining job and the amount of salary for individual with disabilities. The data analyzed was extracted from Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled and released by Korean Employment Agency for the Disabled. Logistic regression and multiple linear regressions were used to analyze the effectiveness of vocational education. The results of this study are as follows; First of all, the vocational education experience has no statistical significant impact on both the probability of obtaining job and the amount of salary. For control variables, males, individuals who has hearing impairment rather than physical disability and visual impairment, individuals with mild disability compare to those who have severe disability, individuals with good health, individuals who lived in small city compare to those in big cities has more probability of obtaining job. Control variables such as gender, marital status, disability level, work conditions, working experience, and license or certification were the variables which had casual effect on the amount of salary.
