        Capacity spectrum method(CSM) of ATC-40(1996) and displacement coefficient method(DCM)of FEMA-273(1997) are applied to evaluate the seismic performance of bridges, In this study, equivalent response is obtained from nonlinear static analysis for the 3spans continues bridge and nonlinear maximum displacement response is calculated using CSM and DCM. Nonlinear maximum displacement response of DCM is larger than this of CSM. It is method that DCM can evaluate target displacement and ductility of structural to be easy and simple, but tend to overestimate the maximum displacement response. Therefore, this method is mainly used at preparation design level to evaluate the structural response, It is not desirable to evaluate the seismic performance using DCM.

        횡하중 분배방법을 이용한 교량구조물의 비탄성 변위응답 평가

        In order to evaluate seismic performance of multi-degree-of-freedom bridge structure, moderate lateral load distribution methods using the pushover analysis were developed by many researchers. One of important variables to improve an accuracy of pushover analysis is lateral load distribution. In this study, pushover analyses were performed using the five types of lateral load distribution and seismic performances were evaluated by capacity spectrum method (CSM). To verify an accuracy of suggested lateral load distribution, the maximum displacement estimates by the CSM were compared to those by inelastic time history analysis.

        등가단자유도 방법에 따른 다자유도 교량의 지진응답평가

        The capacity spectrum method(CSM) can be used for the evaluation of inelastic maximum response of structures and has been recently used in the seismic design using the incorporation of pushover analysis and response spectrum method. To efficiently evaluate seismic performance of multi-degree-of freedom(MDOF) bridge structures, it is important that the equivalent response of MDOF bridge structures should be calculated. To calculate the equivalent response of MDOF system, equivalent responses are obtained by using Song method, Fajfar method and Calvi method. Also, those responses are applied to CSM method and seismic performance of bridge according to the ESDOF method are compared and evaluated straightforwardly.

        To evaluate inelastic seismic reponses of multi-span bridge structures, the capacity spectrum method(CSM) incorporating the equivalent single-degree-of freedom(ESDOF) method is presented. Application of the CSM incorporating the ESDOF method is illustrated by example analysis for symmetric and asymmetric bridge structures. To investigate an accuracy of the CSM, the maximum displacements estimated by the CSM are compared to those by inelastic time history analysis for several artificial earthquakes. The results show that the CSM provided conservative estimates of the maximum displacements for the symmetric and asymmetric bridge structures, and the trend of conservative estimates of the asymmetric bridge structures was significantly larger than that of the symmetric bridge structure.

        Confucian View on Family and Society

        本 論文에서는 儒家의 家族 槪念이 形成되고 儒家的인 家族 社會 내에서 家族 倫理의 構造를 살펴봄으로써 家族社會와 國家政治가 家族倫理意識을 共同 準則으로 하고 있음을 서술하였다. 급격한 산업화와 도시화, 개인화가 특징인 현대사회에 들어서면서 이러한 儒家의 家族觀은 다양한 형태의 가족 출현과 이에 따른 현대인의 인식 변화와 같은 도전에 직면해 있다. 또한 儒家는 지금까지 존재해 온 대부분의 사상과 문화가 그러하듯이 남성중심의 가부장성에 뿌리를 두고 있다는 비판을 받고 있다. 유가가 인륜의 근원으로서 孝悌를 말하고 그 방법으로 孝·悌·慈를 주장하지만 자애로 자식을 지도·양육하는 행위는 위엄으로서 지배하는 형태로 나타나고 자식은 순응과 복종으로 지배당한다고 보는 비판도 있다. 이러한 비판에 설득력 있게 반박하기 위해서는 가족과 사회에 대한 유가의 개념에 대한 정리가 필요하다. 儒家사상에서 인간은 곧 인간관계를 맺으며 살아가는 사회적 존재이며, 인간관계의 원초적 형태가 家族共同體이다. 모든 사물에 존재의 秩序와 法則이 있듯이 인간관계에서도 사람이 지켜야 할 바른 도리, 즉 人倫이 있으며, 人倫原則이 家族倫理意識의 원칙이 되어 對人하는 관계에 따라 다양한 德目과 德行으로 나타난다. 이 원리의 구체적인 형태를 孔子는 孝悌로 구체화시켰으며, 이후 五倫의 德目으로 이어졌다.『禮記』에서는 十倫의 德目과 德行으로까지 확장되지만 그 근본은 家族倫理意識의 기본인 孝意識에 있다. 修身·齊家·治國·平天下의 근본 역시 인륜을 밝히는 것이며, 그 원리는 바로 孝·悌·慈의 가족윤리의식이다. 儒家의 家族社會觀은 인간의 자연적이고 보편적인 家族意識을 근본으로 하며 인간관계의 영속성이 보장되고 親愛意識이 가장 절실하게 구현되는 장소로서 家族의 가치를 인정한다. 즉, 나와 가정, 家族社會, 國家와 天下를 연장선상에서 파악하여 國家社會의 질서와 人倫을 밝히는 기초는 家族임에 틀림없다. 儒家는 이러한 家族社會의 가치를 인정하기 때문에 家族倫理를 중시하고 家族主義를 표방하게 되었다. This thesis discusses that a family society and national politics have family ethic sense in common by studying how Confucian norm on family is formed and what the Confucian structure of family ethics are. Confucianism understands that human beings are social beings that are connected with others, and the basic form of human relationship is a family since a constituent family including parents and siblings is the universal and fundamental form of people, therefore, Confucianism make its thought up focusing on familism. There is a righteous way of humans with others, moral laws, and these moral laws originate from ren仁. Ren is explained concretely as filial piety and brotherly love by Confucius and is linked into moral rules to govern the Five Human Relations. Later it was extended into virtuous deeds of ten moral rules, however, the foundation is a sense of filial piety. The basis of the moral training·home management·ruling a nation·ruling the world peacefully is lightening the moral laws and the principle is the sense of family ethic, filial piety·brotherly love·parental affection. Even though, there are a lot of debates over family, whatever they issue, they cannot delete the importance of family value. Confucian view on family society has a foundation on the family as they believe family gives the natural and universal sense of love. Still individual, family, family society, nation and the world are in the same line. Their rules also have a common basis. It cannot be denied that the common basis is family ethics. This is the reason Confucianism advocates familism.

        Contentious Source: Master Song, the Patriarch’s Voice

        This paper introduces Song Siyeol, known as Master Song (Songja 宋子), who had a great influence on Korean philosophy and politics in late Joseon (18-19th century). Among his Great Compendium, there are substantial body of writings and comments related to women. As his views directly and indirectly contributed to shaping orthodox Korean Neo- Confucian views regarding women, his writings are an invaluable resource for understanding women and gender in the late Joseon period. This paper presents his views on women, focusing on issues related to rituals. By highlighting and analyzing the issues discussed regarding the role of women in four traditional family rituals, I delineate ways in which Song Siyeol positioned women in his ritualist metaphysics and use this analysis to examine his philosophical approach, which reflects his views on, and understanding of, women, gender, and associated philosophical concepts, while making meaningful and practical discoveries that can be embraced and implemented by women and people today.

        Highly potent bacterial neuraminidase inhibitors, chromenone derivatives from <i>Flemingia philippinensis</i>

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The chromenone derivatives (<B>1</B>–<B>4</B>) from the root part of <I>Flemingia philippinensis</I> showed a significant inhibition against bacterial neuraminidase (NA) which plays a pivotal role in a cellular interaction including pathogenesis of bacterial infection and subsequent inflammation. The compounds <B>1</B> and <B>2</B> were the new compounds, philippin D (<B>1</B>) and philippin E (<B>2</B>). In particular, compounds (<B>1</B>–<B>3</B>) exhibited sub micromolar levels of IC<SUB>50</SUB> values with 0.75, 0.54, and 0.07 μM. This is the first report that chromenone skeleton emerged as a lead structure of bacterial NA inhibition. In kinetic study, 8,8-diprenyl compounds displayed competitive inhibitory mode, whereas 4a,8-diprenyl ones showed noncompetitive behavior. It was manifested that all competitive inhibitors (<B>1</B> and <B>2</B>) were simple reversible slow-binding against bacterial NA. The binding affinities (<I>K</I> <SUB>SV</SUB>) of inhibitors to enzyme were agreement with their respective inhibitory potencies. Molecular docking data confirmed that the position of 3-methyl-2-butenyl substituent affects inhibitory mechanism against <I>Cp</I>NanI. The tri-arginyl cluster of R266, R555, and R615 and D291 in NanI tightly interact with the competitive inhibitors.</P>
