본 연구에서는 전통 항아리를 이용하여 발효온도 및 여과 방법을 달리한 현미식초를 제조하여 이들의 품질특성을 조사하였다. 초산발효에 사용하는 발효제와 온도에 따라 적정산도는 발효 4~5주에 가장 높았으며, 강제여과가 전총여과방식보다 산도가 더 높게 나타났다. pH는 모든 구간에서 발효가 진행됨에 따라감소하였고, 당도는 각각의 발효액 모두 초산 생성이 원활할 때는 발효초기와 비슷하게 유지되었지만, 발효액이 과산화 되었을 때는 당도가 낮아졌다. 유기산 함량은 발효온도와 여과방식에는 큰 차이는 없지만 다양한 발효제에 따라 발효 초기에 8종(oxalic, citric, malic, tartaric, succinic, lactic, acctic 및 formic acid 등)이 검출되었고, 발효가 진행되면서 acetic acid가 많이 생성되었다. 총 유리아미노산 함량은 초산 함량이 증가할수록 유지되거나 감소의 폭이 적었으며, 초산함량이 감소하는 발효 6주에 총 아미노산 함량도 급격히 가소하는 것으로 나타났다. 항아리에서 초산발효가 진행됨에 다라 초산함량이 증가할 때 우리 아니노산 함량은 감소하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 발효온도 및 여과방식을 달리함에 따라 유기산 및 유리 아니노산 함량의 차이가 큰 것으로 판단되며, 초산발효액의 경우, 향후 숙성과정에서 유기산 및 유리 아니노산의 변화가 있을 것으로 예상되므로 장기 숙성에 따른 초산 발효액의 품질변화에 대한 연구가 요구된다. We investigated the quality characteristics of brewing brown rice vinegar through a traditional static fermentation process. Accordingly, we decided to compare the physicochemical characteristics of brewing vinegar at different temperatures and filtration methods. In four to five weeks` time, the acetic acid fermentation exhibited the highest titratable acidity and then it eventually decreased The titratable acidity was affected by the filtration method It was revealed that the titratable acidity was higher in the forced filtration than the traditional filtration method. Various organic acids were detected in order to initiaLize the fermentation stage and as the fermentation progressed, only the acetic acid could be detected. The total free amino acid content was higher at a temperaiure of 30℃ than at 20℃ Moreover, the free amino acid content was depencenr on the acetate content during the acetic fermentation Process. The main bioactive substance of the γ-aminobutyric acid content was more man twice at a fermentation temperature of 30t: compared to die fermentation temperature of 20t:. Furthermore, the total amino acid and essential amino acid content at a temperature of 30 t was excellent. The quality of the brown rice vinegar via forced filtration method at a temperature of 30 t was the most excellent. Based on these results, the fermentation temperature and the use of nuruks (fermenting agent) affected the quality of the brown rice vinegar, and an appropriate method to consider its purpose is required.

We describe a case of an intrathoracic kidney combined with right congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) that was diagnosed at 32 weeks of gestation. Although it has been well established that a right CDH shows a poorer outcome than a left CDH, our present case showed a good outcome because there was no herniation of other abdominal viscera, except for the right kidney. Our findings in this case indicate that impaction of the intrathoracic kidney may act as a ‘shield’ against further herniation of other abdominal viscera into the thoracic cavity.

Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations are rare vascular anomalies of the lung, only a few cases of which have been diagnosed prenatally. The diagnostic clue for prenatal diagnosis was cardiomegaly with a particularly enlarged left atrium. All previous cases of pulmonary arteriovenous malformations diagnosed prenatally have been reported as an isolated anomaly or in association with simple heart defects. We here describe the first case of a pulmonary arteriovenous malformation with a complex heart defect that was diagnosed prenatally at 21.0 weeks of gestation and confirmed by postmortem autopsy.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Effects of the crystalline tungsten carbide (WxC) phases on an ordered mesoporous bimetallic Rh-Mn/WxC, which were prepared by changing carbon source to tungsten (C/W) ratios of the WxC support using a hard-template of an ordered mesoporous SBA-15, were investigated for a direct synthesis of mixed alcohols by CO hydrogenation from syngas. The C/W ratios on the mesoporous Rh-Mn/WxC showed a significantly different catalytic activity, especially on the C<SUB>1</SUB> - C<SUB>3</SUB> alcohol productivity. The Rh-Mn/WxC prepared at C/W molar ratio of 10 having a metastable W<SUB>2</SUB>C main phase (Rh-Mn/WxC(10)) revealed a higher CO conversion of 8.1% and selectivity to higher alcohols of 54.4% compared to other catalysts having a main crystalline phases of WO<SUB>3</SUB> or WC. The enhanced catalytic activity and selectivity to mixed alcohols on the Rh-Mn/WxC(10) were attributed to the largely exposed smaller active Rh nanoparticles with its stronger interactions with the metastable W<SUB>2</SUB>C phases. The superior activity was originated from the intimate interactions of Rh nanoparticles with Mn promoter by maintaining proper oxidation states confirmed by surface ratios of the metallic Rh to oxidized Rh<SUP> <B>n+</B> </SUP> species. The stable preservation of the ordered mesoporous structures of the W<SUB>2</SUB>C phase in the amorphous carbon matrixes significantly altered the chemical states of the small Rh nanoparticles below 2 nm in size by preferentially existing on the outer surfaces of the W<SUB>2</SUB>C support, which resulted in showing an enhanced productivity of higher C<SUB>1</SUB> –C<SUB>3</SUB> alcohols with 171.8 g/(kg<SUB>cat</SUB>·h).</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> WxC phases on mesoporous Rh-Mn/WxC changed C<SUB>1</SUB>-C<SUB>3</SUB> alcohol selectivity from direct CO hydrogenation. </LI> <LI> Metastable W<SUB>2</SUB>C phase is beneficial for a higher productivity of mixed alcohols. </LI> <LI> Different oxidation states of strongly interacted small Rh nanoparticles are well correlated with catalytic activity. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

The melanocortin 1 receptor(MC1R) encoded by the coat color extension gene(E) plays a key role in the signaling pathway of melanin synthesis. The primers for the amplification of bovine MC1R gene were designed based on a bovine MC1R gene sequence(GenBank accession no. Y19103). A size of 483bp(482bp for Hanwoo) was amplified by PCR, digested with HpaII restriction enzyme and electrophoresed in 1.5% agarose gel. When the amplified DNA product(483bp) was digested with HpaII restriction enzyme, Hanwoo meat showed a single band of 482bp, whereas two fragments of 325bp and 158bp were detected in Holstein, Angus and meat of Hanwoo/Holstein cross cow having back coat color phenotype, respectively. The results of this experiment indicate that new designed primers of bovine MC1R gene may be useful for identification of Hanwoo meat from Holstein, Black Angus and Hanwoo/Holstein cross cow meat.

Purpose The purpose of this study was effect of web-based remote breathing exercise on pulmonary function and respiratory strength. Methods A total of 30 students were assigned to 15 in study groups and 15 in control groups. Exercise was performed 3 times a week for a total of 12 times for 4 weeks. Both groups applied an exercise program included breathing exercise and whole body exercise. Results As a result of pulmonary function, there was no significant difference in the study group, and there was a significant difference in the control group for FEV₁, FEV₁/FVC, PEF. Both groups showed significant differences in MEP and MIP for respiratory muscle strength. However, there were no significant differences between groups in all items. Conclusion Breathing exercises help to improve pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength. In particular, remote breathing exercise can be an alternative that can help improve respiratory muscle strength of non-face-to-face social university students with low activity levels.

본 연구는 남성 독거노인의 일상생활능력과 인지능력을 향상시키기 위해 가상현실 요리체험 프로그램을 제안한다. 고령화 더불어 1 인 가구가 증가함에 따라 남성 독거노인의 수 또한 증가했다. 하지만 남성의 가사 참여율이 낮았던 사회구조에서 살아온 현재의 남성 노인은 가사생활 능력이 부족하고, 그로 인해 고립감과 무력감을 느낀다. 가상현실 요리체험을 통한 가사생활 능력과 인지능력을 훈련을 병행하여 현재 남성 노인 세대에 가장 기본적이면서도 중요한 일상생활 능력을 향상시키고, 나아가 균형 잡힌 식습관을 유지하여 성공적 노화를 보내는데 기여하고자 한다.

The antibody titers against Coxiella burnetii (Q fever) among cattle raised in Gwangju area were analyzed from February to October in 2015. The prevalence of antibodies in collected bulk-tank milk from 7 dairy cattle farms was 57.1% and the seroprevalence of 210 dairy cows randomly selected from those farms was 7.1%. By age, the seroprevalence was 3.3% in less than 4 years of age, 9.0% between 4 and 7 years of age, and 28.6% in more than 8 years of age. On the other hand, the seroprevalence of the Hanwoo cattle was 0.4%. The result suggested that the antibodies against Coxiella burnetii increase as the age of the dairy cows increases and therefore, it is necessary to keep monitoring the prevalence of Q fever in Gwangju area.
