Vol.1 No.1
This study introduced Passing, an evaluation instrument of human services, to realize to professionize the social service in Korean society. Passing assesses two major dimensions of Social Role Valorization, client social image-enhancement and client competence-enhancement, in four program areas: physical setting; service-structured groupings and relationships among people; service-structured activities and other time uses; and miscellaneous other issues. Passing consists of 42 items or ratings, each composed of 5 levels, with Level 1 representing very poor service quality, Level 3 neutral quality, and Level 5ideal quality. Trained evaluation team members first rate a service program independently, on all 42items. In a lengthy discussion session, the Passing team then come to a team-conciliated(consensual) rating of the quality of the program on each of the 42 items. The conciliated scores, formed by adding the weighted scores of the 42 items, can range from a minimum of 1,000(extremely poor service quality), through zero(minimally acceptable service quality), up to a maximum of +1,000(ideal quality). There are some things we need to memorize as follows: 1. What does a correlations between team conciliated scores and the simple averaging of individual raters’scores? 2. Is a size of assessment team, small or large of units, how it affects the results of assessment? 3. The degree of social integration, and the quality of life of residents are evaluated through the Passing instrument? 4. Analyzing a sample of Passing assessments, we must collaborated on a methodological and substantively oriented analysis of them. 5. How much are the similarity of Pearson and Spearman correlations among the total Passing scale and 5 rationally derived subscales?
Ingress/egress Motion Analysis of Recreational Vehicle through Video Observation

This study compares ingress/egress motion in recreational vehicle driver's seat in terms of user's height. To comparing motion, first, we developed ingress/egress motion classification criteria. Next, we conducted ingress/egress motion experiment. Forty people were participated in this experiment. These participants were grouped by their height. We recorded ingress egress motion analyze these data by video observation. The results show that there exist ingress/egress motion differences between user groups. These differences were mainly comes from door entrance height. This study is basis for other ingress/egress experiments design.
Perceived Discomfort of Design Parameters during Recreational Vehicle Ingress/Egress

Vehicle ingress/egress is an important consideration in designing a car ergonomically. The design parameters influencing vehicle ingress/egress have relevance to the overall car shape and affect user safety. This study investigated perceived discomfort and importance of design parameters during recreational vehicle ingress/egress and found main design parameters affecting ingress/egress. Forty participants got in and out of five different recreational vehicles and assessed subjective ratings of ten design parameters: roof height (ground to roof and seat to roof), seat height (ground to seat), step height (ground to step and floor to step), step width, foot clearance, opening width, A-pillar clearance and B-pillar clearance. For each parameter, mean degree of discomfort of different dimensions was analyzed, and the response rate included in the condition that a degree of discomfort is over four and a degree of importance is more than three scores was identified.
A Method for Creating Dynamic Motions of Digital Human Models in RAMSIS Software

A digital human model simulation (DHMS) system is a useful tool to design ergonomic products and evaluate usability of different products. This study developed a systematic method to create dynamic motions of digital human models in RAMSIS(R) software, and applied the method to create ingress and egress motions in a vehicle as a case study. For this, a motion capture system is used to collect the trajectory data of markers attached to a user's body. The manikin, a digital human model in RAMSIS(R), is produced by user's anthropometric data. The trajectory data of joint points of the manikin are used to create dynamic motions of the manikin, that are produced by the actor and the character that are digital human models in another DHMS system (MotionBuilder(R)). As a case study, the participants to which thirty seven markers were attached naturally entered and exited the car mockup in the experiment. Ingress and egress motions of each manikin were created by the systematic method developed.
