베트남 한국학과 대학생의 자기주도학습능력과 한국어능력 수준에 관한 연구
The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation and influence relationship between self-directed learning ability and Korean language proficiency of Korean studies undergraduates in Vietnam. The research questions set up were as follows. First, is there any difference in self-directed learning ability depending on the demographic characteristics of Korean studies undergraduates in Vietnam? Second, is there any difference in Korean language proficiency level depending on the demographic characteristics of Korean studies undergraduates in Vietnam? Third, how does self-directed learning ability of Korean studies undergraduates in Vietnam affect their Korean language proficiency level? In order to achieve the research goal, 239 university students from three universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, were surveyed online. 228 questionnaires were used in the study, except 11 questionnaires with missing responses. Data were analyzed by the independent sample t test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, correlation analysis, simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows. First, an analysis of the differences in self-directed learning ability according to demographic characteristics showed some differences in the students' monthly living expenses and their experience in learning Korean before entering the department of Korean studies. Beside from that, there was no significant difference in the overall sub-factors of self-directed learning ability, depending on gender, university, grade, total monthly income of family, current status of attending Korean language institutes, and part-time jobs in Korean. Second, as a result of analyzing the differences in the level of Korean proficiency, according to demographic characteristics, showed some differences in the level of Korean proficiency depending on gender, university, grade, area of origin of university students, monthly living expenses of college students, total monthly income of their families, and whether they had part-time jobs in Korean. However, the level of Korean language proficiency is not significantly different depending on the experience of Korean language before entering the department of Korean Studies and whether or not they are currently attending Korean language institutes. Third, the overall correlation between self-directed learning ability and the level of Korean language ability was found to be significant, and specifically, the sub-factors such as learning management system, self-concept, and durability of learning activities are directly related to the level of Korean language proficiency. Also, self-directed learning ability was found to affect the level of Korean language proficiency. Specifically, among the sub-factors of self-directed learning ability, learning process management and self-concept factors affect the level of Korean language proficiency. Based on the above analysis results, the following conclusions were as follows. First, the demographic characteristic of 'region of origin' has brought the big difference in self-directed learning ability. This means that students who are educated in relatively low-quality infrastructures may have more opportunities to exercise self-directed learning skills. Second, there is no significant difference in the level of Korean language ability according to the "experience in learning Korean" and "currently attending Korean language institutes or not" before entering the Korean department. This allows students to achieve their learning goals without external help because they choose what they learn and actively participate in learning. Third, the self-concept, a sub-factor in self-directed learning, has been found to be an important factor affecting the level of Korean language proficiency on average. In order to have a positive impact on learning performance, it is vital to develop programs that make self-concepts in addition to learning methods, learning strategies, and learning skills in order to have a positive impact on learning performance. 본 연구는 베트남 한국학과 대학생의 자기주도학습능력과 한국어능력 수준의 상관 및 영향관계를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 베트남 한국학과 대학생의 인구통계학적 특성에 따라 자기주도학습능력에 차이가 있는가? 둘째, 베트남 한국학과 대학생의 인구통계학적 특성에 따라 한국어능력 수준에 차이가 있는가? 셋째, 베트남 한국학과 대학생의 자기주도학습능력이 한국어능력 수준에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가? 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 베트남 호치민시 소재 3개 대학교 한국학과 대학생 239명을 온라인으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 불성실한 응답설문지 11부를 제외하고 228부의 설문지를 분석에 사용하였다. 수집된 자료를 처리하기 위하여 SPSS 프로그램을 사용하여 독립표본 t검정, 일원분산분석(One-way ANOVA), Scheffé 사후 검증, 상관분석, 단순회귀분석과 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 자기주도학습능력의 차이를 분석한 결과 인구통계학적 특성 변인 학생의 출신지역, 월 생활비, 한국학과 입학 전 한국어 배운 경험에 따라 자기주도학습능력 하위요인에 부분적으로 차이가 나타났다. 그 외에 성별, 대학교, 학년, 가족 총 월수입, 현재 한국어 학원 수강여부, 한국어 아르바이트 여부에 따라 자기주도학습능력 전체 하위요인에서 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 한국어능력 수준의 차이를 분석한 결과 성별, 대학교, 학년, 대학생의 출신지역, 대학생의 월 생활비와 가족 총 월수입, 한국어 아르바이트 여부에 따라 한국어능력 수준에 차이가 나타났다. 그러나 한국어능력 수준은 한국학과 입학 전 한국어 배운 경험, 현재 한국어 학원 수강여부에 따라 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자기주도학습능력과 한국어능력 수준 간의 전체적으로 상관관계가 유의한 것으로 나타났으며 구체적으로 학습과정관리, 자아개념, 학습활동지속성 하위요인은 직접적으로 한국어능력 수준과 유의한 상관관계가 있다. 또한 자기주도학습능력은 한국어능력 수준에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 구체적으로 자기주도학습능력 하위요인 중에 학습과정관리와 자아개념 요인은 한국어능력 수준에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 먼저 인구통계학적 특성인 ‘출신지역’은 자기주도학습능력의 가장 큰 차이를 가져왔다. 이는 상대적으로 수준 낮은 인프라에서 교육받는 학생은 자기주도학습능력을 발휘할 기회가 더 많을 수 있다는 의미로 해석할 수도 있겠다. 둘째, 한국학과 입학 전 ‘한국어 배운 경험’과 ‘현재 한국어 학원 수강여부’에 따른 한국어능력 수준에 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 대학생들은 자기가 배울 것을 스스로 선택하여 학습에 적극적으로 참여하기 때문에 외적 도움 없이 학습 목표를 달성할 수 있다는 의미로 받아들일 수 있다. 셋째, 자기주도학습능력의 하위요인 자아개념이 한국어능력 수준에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인임이 확인되었다. 즉, 베트남 한국학과 대학생들의 자기주도학습 능력과 더불어 한국어능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 학습 프로그램에 학습방법, 학습전략, 학습기술 등 외에 자아개념을 발전시켜주는 프로그램을 제공하는 것이 필요하다고 생각된다.
