This study evaluated retrospectively the treatment method and postoperative complications of communited mandibular fractures. We analyzed the clinical and radiologic data of 14 patients with the comminuted mandibular fractures who were admitted to Chosun University Dental Hospital from January 1998 to December 2003. We reviewed the cause of trauma, fracture sites, treatment methods, and postoperative complications. Thirteen patients (93%) had a successful treatment outcome without complications. Only one patient developed postoperative osteomyelitis requiring early plate removal and sequestrectomy. For the comminuted fractures of mandible, internal fixation using micro- or mini-plate was an effective treatment method with a low incidence of major complications.

Fifty four preparations of the cavernous sinus from twenty seven cadavers were studied in detail under microscopic magnification, with special attention to nerves and arteries related to the wall of the sinus. Significant findings were: 1) Three types of relationship between the nerves and arteries in relation to the wall of the sinus were found. Type Ⅰ: The nerves Ⅲ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ-Ⅰ were embedded in the lateral wall) and the internal carotid artery (I. C. A.) and nerve Ⅳ passed through the cavity of the sinus (26 specimens, 48 %), Type Ⅱ: The cavity of the sinus was divided into two compartments by a septum close to the lateral wall, with nerves Ⅳ and Ⅴ-Ⅰ located within the septum (18 specimens, 33%), Type Ⅲ: Anatomy was similar to the type Ⅰ, except that the I.C.A. was included in the medial or lateral wall (10 specimens, 19%). 2) Arterial variations branching from the intracavernous portion of the I.C.A. were classified into four types. Type Ⅰ: Meningohypophyseal trunk arising from I.C.A. (28 specimens). Type Ⅱ: Dorsal meningeal artery from I.C.A. (10 specimens). Type Ⅲ: Tentorial artery from I.C.A. (4 specimens). Type Ⅳ: Meningohypophyseal trunk from I.C.A. in addition, the artery of inferior cavernous sinus (12 specimens). 3) The main three branches of the intracavernous portion of the I.C.A. were the meningohypophyseal artery, which was presented presented in 100% of our specimens, the artery of inferior cavernous sinus (78%), and McConnell's capsular artery (43 %). Intracavernous origin of the ophthalmic artery were observed in four specimens (8%). 4) The surgical triangle spaces were found to be present in all our specimens, which were formed by the superior margin of it with the lower margin of nerve IV and by the inferior margin with the upper margin of nerve Ⅴ-Ⅰ.

The authors introduce a extremely rare case of xanthoma in the lateral ventricle which combined -with the arachnoid cyst, aneurysm, and osteoma. This 11-year-old girl has been suffered the Rt. sided motor weakness, the slurred speech and seizures before 1 year. The simple skull AP view showed the elevation of left sphenoidal ridge bulging temporal bone (LT), the localized sclerotic margin and centrally osteolytic change in the Lt. Frontal bone. Brain computed tomogram revealed a relatively well circumscribed, moderately enhanced mass in the trigone of the left lateral ventricle accompaning with irregular low density in the left temporal lobe. At left carotid angiogram, multiple aneurysm of the Genu of the middle cerebral artery was found without spasm of adjacent vessels. The patient had operation for removal of the tumor. Arachnoid cyst and for wrapping of the Aneurysm. The pedunculated reddish white mass was completely removed. The patient had improvement and discharged without another neurologic deficits. The tumor mass was the Xanthoma.
Influence of molecular vibration and rotation on wall heat flux in oscillating rarefied flow
전우진,박재현,백승욱,이지형,하동성 대한기계학회 2015 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.29 No.3
In high temperature environments, molecular vibration and rotation become considerable in flow analysis. We employed unsteady directsimulation Monte Carlo to thoroughly investigate the effects of molecular vibration and rotation on the dynamic response of wallheat flux due to the oscillating flow input in a rarefied environment with high temperature. Three modes of temperature and heat flux(translational, vibrational and rotational) are distinctively quantified to identify the details of the response, in addition to the density andvelocity fluctuations. With an increase in the medium temperature, the contribution of internal energy to the heat flux is found to significantlyincrease; however, the responses vary with the characteristic time of each mode. Besides their usefulness in contributing to therapid development of space applications, the findings are expected to be significant in designing a thermal protection system for spacevehicles in the future.

Spinal Cord contusions in cats were produced experimentally by impact injuries to the surgically exposed cord at the second lumbar vertebral level. As a step in the investigation of the possible effect of spinal cord trauma on biochemical and ultrastructural changes in the injured cord, activities of lipid peroxidation were measured in the frozen-dried sample of the spinal cord and the fine structure of the myelinated nerve fiber in the white matter were observed before and after the cord injury. An increase of lipid peroxidatin level was found as early as 30 minutes after the injury and the highest concentration was reached at 4 hours of injury. Fine structures of the myelinated nerve fibers were changed progressively with the lapse of time after the injury. By 1 hour after the contusion the myelinated nerve fibers showed moderately enlarged periaxonal space, attenuation and disarray of the myelin sheaths. By 4 hour after the contusion, there appeared disarray of the myelin sheaths, greatly enlarged periaxonal space and irregulary contoured axons. The effect of naloxone of the lipid peroxidation and fine ultrastructure of the myelinated nerve fibers were studied, and the results of this study suggested that naloxone have a beneficial effect on the change in lipid peroxidation and the preservation of the myelinated nerve fibers after injury.
PaaS 클라우드 컴퓨팅을 위한 컨테이너 친화적인 파일 시스템 이벤트 탐지 시스템
전우진,박기웅 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 2019 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 논문지 Vol.15 No.1
Recently, the trend of building container-based PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) is expanding. Container-based platform technology has been a core technology for realizing a PaaS. Containers have lower operating overhead than virtual machines, so hundreds or thousands of containers can be run on a single physical machine. However, recording and monitoring the storage logs for a large number of containers running in cloud computing environment occurs significant overhead. This work has identified two problems that occur when detecting a file system change event of a container running in a cloud computing environment. This work also proposes a system for container file system event detection in the environment by solving the problem. In the performance evaluation, this work performed three experiments on the performance of the proposed system. It has been experimentally proved that the proposed monitoring system has only a very small effect on the CPU, memory read and write, and disk read and write speeds of the container.
